Speaking of whatever the hell you were just talking about (stopped skimming once I saw mention of blatant spoilers and the usual wailing and gnashing of teeth that accompanies them), I've started a new playthrough (if anyone cares). I've been on here almost every day since September-ish yet I haven't actually played the game for months. Damn good to hear Miranda's voice again. Anyway, don't get too excited this is my Tali run so there won't be much to talk about on here romance-wise. That being said I'm gonna try my hand at screenshots. Haven't quite got the hang of it, missed some good moments but this one turned out pretty good:

Oh yeah, I also have a PT with Wreav...

btw, I want to make a Shepard who doesn't teel Miranda to speak with her sister. But I dont know wich pre-service has the best reason.

Colonist: This shepard had a family. He could appreciate the family bonds, but he know what happends when his relative die, and due to the mission they can die.

Spacer: The parents from this Shepard have been always on service (at least Hannah, we don't know anything from Shep's dad). He understands the stress for receiving a message telling him that his parents died on duty, would he want the same stress for Oriana?

Earthborn: He doesn't know anything from having a family, so he is the one with less motivations to tell Miranda what to do with her family issues.

**Spoiler Mention**

Wait, in the Leaked Demo Footage of the Earth Attack, Anderson says that they need to get to the Citadel. So We'll be seeing Miri soon after, because she is on the Citadel, no?

Well, after Earth you're railroaded to Mars. I forget where you go after that, or if you're given freedom.

But, what about warning her?

Seriously, I'm gonna take a break from this place, you guys are effectively talking me out of looking forward to this game. It sounds like they took too many wrong turns with characters.

I'm looking forward to seeing how ME3 pans out. Miranda's story aside there are things that I'm happy about with ME3:

- The ME3 romances actually seem to be pretty good from what I've read. Especially the S/S options.

-Shepard's gotten a real upgrade in the quality of his dialogue. He's not the Magic Space Messiah that he was in ME2 anymore.

- Crew interaction appears to be at the level we expect out of a Dragon Age game.

Blame BioWare, they're the ones to write the characters like that.

Hi! Remember me? Bwahaha.

I'm contemplating upon a fact, why Miranda isn't in Mass Effect 3, straight from the begin?

Think reasonably, she had a long career with Cerberus, thus naturally we may assume she has a tremendous amount of contracts, relationships, and possible funds as well. With that kind of connections, she -can- assist Shepard in time of need ( Or the whole Bioware Romance Concept goes one-way, only protagonists are allowed to save the day? ), specifically with the trial.

Shepard, depending on a point of view ( Law system is meant to be juggled ) can be considered a civilian, thus he -can- in theory, avoid martial-court. Then again, our Shepard has little to zero knowledge upon such facts, all he knows is how to point and shoot; Thus, Miranda with the criteria mentioned above, + the '' best education money could buy '', can rescue our Shepard's brainless/bricked asses.

Of all the characters in Mass Effect 1, and 2 ( Apart from Liara ) I can't think of a better character to help in this situation. ( Anders is Anders, he's brain-dead like Shepard )

What'cha think? I, personally would prefer a scenario like the one elaborated above, or similar, which would introduce Miranda to the game sooner.

We've discussed this to death amigo. They did it basically because they put in the SM in ME2 and as a result they sidelined every ME2 character so none of them can really do anything of substance because it would affect the narrative as a whole for all of the players. So in reality Miranda can't have anything that's too substantive because it wouldn't make sense at this point. So we're stuck with who we're stuck with.

And that, kids, is why a "total failure" ending and an expendable cast is generally a bad idea halfway through the trilogy.

If you're going to have cast member deaths, make it scripted, like Halo or Gears.

Why won't someone ask ANYONE in BioWare WHY they did that? As a result, they only pleased ME1 fans.

VS fans aren't so pleased.

The problem isn't that Miranda has a smaller role. The problem is that she's kind of dull, at least in the scenes we have.

Would it matter, its done. Not much sense in getting a rationalization now.

Yes, scripted deaths would've been better, or only having select characters have the possibility of dying during the SM. But its done now, the only thing to look forward to is to see how well it comes together. But I'll be honest, not as excited as I was a few months back.

Replacement NPC. Wh is awesome enough in the leaks that Miranda is going to get killed off at least once.

I just hope she doesn't get saddled with an unavoidable death. Otherwise I'll have to turn to my backup LI.

It doesn't matter if they could have died in the SM. BioWare should have put as much effort for the ME2 Characters (like they did for the ME1 Characters) for ME3, in case they ARE ALIVE!

I can only wonder what BioWare will do or say in regards to the inevitable sh*tstorm of negative feedback concerning character roles.

They didn't see it that way. And as someone who played ME1 first but got really excited about Mass Effect from ME2, most of my favorite characters won't get more than their mission. I suppose they thought it would be too costly to do so, but I'm still scratching my head over the dextro decision, but I'm not expecting too much rational decisions in the story any longer.

Because, pampering 1/2 the fanbase is always the best decision.

We'll see how that plays out.

What did they do once DA2 came out and all of those reviews seemed like lies? They'll just ignore it and promote the next thing they've got coming out.

I never payed all that much attention to DA2. I played DAo, and then my interest just sort of died.

And I never payed all that much attention to BioWare in general until I introduced my friend to ME and he became a BioWare super fanboy.

What about those who didn't play ME1 and didn't want to play ME1? Why only favor those who played ME1 first and those who like ME1 more?

And what the **** is Dextro for crying out loud???!

"Dextro" refers to the dextro-based DNA in quarians and turians. On BSN, it generally refers to Garrus and Tali.

As to your first question, I honestly can't provide a straight answer for that. I have a whole list of insults I can share though.
