^ My Screenshot. I love doing this after the SM, and after every "Epilogue" Mission (Overlord, LOTSB, and Arrival).

This brings up a I've been meaning to ask. Do you guys have a roleplaying way to avoid doing Arrival until after the SM. I like roleplaying the characters and while I can pretend I didn't get the Shadow Broker intel, I have no idea how to pretend Shep didn't see the giant Hackett head.

In my original eight playthroughs I had finished the SM before Arrival came out, which means I only got the info then. I just pretend the same happened in my newer playthroughs. The timing of the info is a concession to gameplay anyway.

Edit:
Oops, top of the page. Miranda winks....

I've started playing ME1 again and went with the default Shepard. I'm going to try to make him just for Ashley but it's damn near hard to resist Miranda come ME2.

After Horizon, Ashley can go to hell.

Miranda may be cold and disconnected, but her romance feels more genuine, and she never accused me of being a traitor.

edit: She's also not racist.

I know!  My maleshep feels the same way!  Miranda has proven her loyalty to Shepard and has been in his corner, so to speak, with seeing that Shepard succeeds in his mission to stop the collectors.   I had an me2 playthrough for Ash only but I couldn't not talk to Miranda.  Breaking up with Miranda made me feel bad. :crying:  I can't do it. :(

What's really freaky about Arrival is that the Reapers were right F*CKING there. Knowing that, then talking to Hackett and blowing him off for a couple of missions? Makes you sweat. I'm obviously referring to subsequent playthroughs. So yeah, don't open that mail!

I don't think he looks like Vin Diesel or Jason Statham. He's just rockin the Bald of Awesome.... unless the implication is that all bald dudes look like Diesel or Statham or Bruce Willis.

I would've preferred to have a Shepard with hair. But the hairstyles all look like sh*t or boring. It was hard enough to find a nose that doesn't look like a radioactive vegetable from space.

Agree about the snuggle pic...

I know!  They need better hairstyles!  The only other one I sorta liked was the hair on top, shaved on the sides.  More military look.  I did have to fix Shepard broken nose in ME2.  Looked like an eagle nose. LOL.

You don't have a choice. You automatically get the video message and go to your cabin to take it after Horizon. You can only pretend it didn't happen until after the SM.

To be fair Ashey proved herself in ME1. It could've easily been the case that Miranda blows you off in ME3 and then they would've been even. Ashley has something to answer for but she's not automatically inferior.

Not talking to Miranda (AT ALL) is the only way I got through a playthrough where I stayed loyal to Liara. And it's the only way I'll be able to do the same for Ash or romance Tali.

It kinda makes me wish there was a "I was just messing with you" button for certain dialogues.

"Miranda, you're right, the mission is too important. We shouldn't really get in deeper. It will only be worse for the other person if either of us get hurt or die"

"... Alright Shepard."

You could do that? Never access your private terminal between Horizon and the SM? I couldn't.

BTW, you can get through the game *really* fast on Casual. 12 hours and I'm past the Collector ship with all DLC but Arrival done.

Edit:
Ashley's OK. I like her,  though she may have gone off into "incompatible" territory with her remark about Miranda in the leaked script..

You mean like you were forced to open your mail, or you just felt like you were compelled to?

Off topic, but does anyone know if Overlord is brought up in ME3 at all? If not, then I'm never ever playing it again.

I read all my mails. There's also sidequest triggers therein. I wouldn't keep away.

Overlord is referenced in an encounter with one of its characters.

It can be taken as bad if you realize that nobody can be perfect because there no measure of perfection. So if you say someone is perfect, you imply she sets the standard for all humans in all her aspects. I dislike the term "perfect" for Miranda and prefer "improved".

The point is she could've in the third game, and given how highly she values loyalty would've likely done worse.

What racist remarks?

@Ieldra's edit: What does Ashley comment about Miranda?

@your other edit: My comment was meant to be sarcastic. A bit too subtle, I suppose.

I made a comment a while back while we were discussing if Miranda was better than Shepard, and I made the same comment you did.

"I can't tell the animals from the aliens in here".

Despite the fact that there are ZERO animals present.

I'll give her a chance in ME3, but Horizon knocked my respect for her down a few pegs.

Well there is that one line Shepard says to Ashley on Horizon that I like. "You're letting your feelings get in the way of facts." Or something along those lines. I understand her dislike for what the aliens did to her grandfather... She's(Ashley) letting her dislike or distrust Cerberus...  getting in the way of doing the right thing... (stopping the Collectors) by any means necessary.

Even Tali didn't help Shepard in the beginning. "Not even for you Shepard." Wow. That spoke volumes. When I replayed freedoms progress.

To swing this back around to Miranda. She's impressed with the mission. "This has been the best I've been a part of." (loosely worded) I always tell Miranda because it isn't a Cerberus operation but his own. hah!

Zero animals? There's pyjacks. Forget about them? Racist!*

She's not comparing aliens to animals she's saying aliens have their use but in a crisis situation you'd sacrifice the other (ie. an alien) before yourself or one of your own. She means everyone does this, ergo humans have to stick together. Not really racist, as you're more likely to feel sympathy for something more similar to you. The mistake is applying that in non-crisis situations and using it as justification for discrimination.

*That was a joke.

Simple, saving colonists supersedes the need to rescue one reseacher. She can wait while I kill the collectors.

Yeah I told Hackett that I'm on a Mission, so I added it on the "To Do List."

I just stumbled on to a rachni nest that I've never found before in playing me1. Planet Altahe. There's a building with some Rachni nests around it. Interesting. :)
