I would let her stay on the Normandy for a few days to regain her energy, or at the very least with some trusted friends.

Largely pyschological imo, but at the same time it might involve these above items more often then not.  I think going into d/s territory its very likely. but then again, your still right, too.

I think that goes without saying. I've heard a few horror stories of some kind of play going sour because someone tied something wrong or had no idea what thy were doing. It's pretty dangerous if done improperly.

Sounds pretty plausible to me. Basically Miranda would likely have a complicated relationship, psychologically, with the whole idea of "control," due to her past/upbringing, etc. You can actually see this come out on occasion, mostly in the sense that she wants to exert control, but I could see there being another side to it, though it would rarely show itself.
