Just did the LotSB conversation with Liara again. Nowhere else in ME2 is Shepard so much a real person. Amd there's so much in it which appears to be prophetic. I don't think I hope for anything as hard as "The future of humanity as evidenced by the perfect Ms Lawson" to be prophetic as well.

Also while Arrival may be boring gameplay-wise, the mood is really very good. Only that I can't bring Miranda with me is annoying. She's suited so much for that kind of operation.

Edit:
Just tried JeanLuc's half-visor high-res AAP2 armor. I guess I'll have to play my "Council is dead" version of Cyrus Shepard after all.... it's more in character for him anyway, I was just afraid it would be all too Renegade and have one-sided negative repercussions in ME3.

Edit2:
Oops, top of the page. Here's my favorite Miranda/Shepard scene again:

Ahem, this might be a stupid question, but is Yvonne confirmed to be voicing Miranda again?

She is not, but I am convinced she will be back. The way she responded to a question about this suggests that she will, even though she didn't confirm or deny anything.

I really hope you're right. I'll be pretty bitterly dissapointed if she isn't the VA for Miranda in ME3 :crying:

Pratically every window on the Normandy has a window into the engine room. Perhaps the entire crew watched

I only remember 1 window looking into the engine room, and that's the window Thane stares out.

I get it now. Thane is a peeping tom.

Crew quarters, tech lab (might explain Mordin's 'medical' conversation with Shepard), life support, armory (?) - can't remember for sure, but makes sense since it's on the other side of the tech lab. And, yeah, I'll bet EDI's AI curiosity got the better of her...

If Miranda was the type of "safe" character that everyone can like, I probrably would be the one who didn't like her.

Agreed. And Collider's remarks have always been quite reasonable/interesting.

I always believed that Liara and Tali were the safe choice for MShep (both romances starts as a first crush from the LI).

MEFFL you do know its just pixels right not a real life person... *shudder*

That's exactly what can make this so much fun.

One of the most compelling things about this game is how the story can draw you in in such a way that you really start to care about the characters and develop some attachments to them. The first time I noticed this on the first play through it freaked me out a bit. The last time that happened to me was when reading one of Robert Heinleins novels when I was in college - that was quit a while ago.

Well yes, it is fun, but some people's "dedication" goes to creepy levels. For instance, by suggesting you're somehow a "better" Miranda fan if you never romance anyone else.

Or being hostile to people like Collider who are respectful and articulate. There's a reason I put "discussion" in the thread title. She isn't for everyone. That's okay.

It's a big galaxy out there. Someone for everyone, as evidenced by the Krogan poet and the Asari at the Illium transport station (can't remember their names off the top of my head).

I will find it very hard, however, to not be loyal to Miranda in ME3. I do want a happy ending to that romance and will find it very hard to move on if she gets killed in the course of the story. Suspect I'll become a cold, hard, SOB after that if that's what happens...

C'mon guys. Just cause someone didn't like Miranda for some unearthly reason, we don't need to smash them on the head and proclaim them as a disgrace to all mankind.

Unless they be trollin', then yes, do as stated above.

Very ironic, that coming from you, t3HPrO... weren't you the one who went all-out on Collider - who is, I might mention, a very reasonable person.

Holy Hell, do I need to start with the douchebaggery again? I swear we're gonna need a Miranda thread police force or something.

Seriously...

Too much gushing is bad
Reposting the same pictures over and over is bad
Insulting people simply for having a difference of opinion is bad
Bashing other characters without moderation or without regard to other fanbases is bad

We should be inviting people into the thread not kicking them out. I don't know him well, but Collider is a respected member of the BSN (not that it means much). When vets start getting trolled for having a difference of opinon, it means it's time to clean things up a little.

OT:

@ jtav, Ieldra, MisterJB, flemm, CrutchCricket, Dr.Doctor, android, spiros, ect
Miranda is Awesome; discuss...

What's there to discuss about that?

As for a Miranda topic, I just noticed something I don't think many people are aware of. We were discussing instances of Miranda smiling, weren't we? You wouldn't believe it considering that Miranda is "known" to be cold there, but the very first she smiles in ME2 is......in the very first encounter with her:

Shepard: I've had enough of this station to last a lifetime.
Miranda (smiles): Or two, in your case.

I was so surprised by the realization that I didn't hit the screenshot key fast enough even though my finger was posed above it.

I like the half smirk she gives Shepard when he wakes up prematurely. After berating Wilson for the"accidental" attempt at sabotaging Lazarus.

Re: the smiling I think it's because it's an ironic smile. Compare the smile she has when she talks about Niket and her face just lights up.

I can tell she has that little bottled up sense of humour hidden away inside her and it probably pops out without her even realizing. Might bring up some good discussions about her "cold" demeanor as well.

I'm curious, since I won't be romancing her, I'm still hoping for a somewhat "cold" attitude towards Shepard at first glance/first meeting, but then when they actually approach, you get that hint of happiness towards the end (or she warms up a bit) because of what they've been through.

Ah...indeed, that would be the very first smile, not the one I mentioned. And yep, I would describe her as having a "trademark enigmatic smile" just as the Mona Lisa.

That smile was one of accomplishment: "It was too early - but we did it!"

You all make people who Gush for Miri feel like complete morons, yet we who do that are only expressing our deep Affection and our Love to our LI. We are as much Mirimancers/Mirimaniacs as much as the rest of you, NOTHING lower. You want to gush at times, do not lie. You Love Miri as much as we do. What are you too chicken to Gush at times? Too much pride? Afraid we'd get a bad name? Well news flash, the Tali Thread is worse and filled with INCREDIBLY CREEPY fans who overrun the BSN EVERY DAY! They are indeed like that compared to us. Unlike them, we always have Dignity.

I guess.

I didn't really see it as that the first time I noticed it.

To each his own I suppose, and I'll give it another look when I restart my playthrough.

@bold- Yeah, at least we have the decency to keep the NSFW stuff to ourselves! /joke

There's nothing wrong with gushing, but I'll admit maybe sometimes we take it a little overboard -- But that's what makes it all the better. Sometimes, over-the-top can be amusing, as long as it doesn't get offensive.
