Oh, I don't think they failed completely. Just after the dossier came out, there were a number of people who said they intended to dump her either because they wanted biological children or because they viewed her as promiscuous.

Which is ironic, considering fan group sizes and the thread length.

Those people won't be missed. If they're going to drop her because of that, then odds are they never cared that much to begin with.

You know, I'm now semi-convinced that the dossier was created partly to get people to dump her. We have it wired into our brains that children equals future and no children equals no future. And she has casual sex with men who aren't the player, and she doesn't even treat them particularly well.

While I admit the dossier rang of an old Miranda that I did not wish to know, it was far too weak to actually dissuade me. Though to be fair "promise me you won't die" pretty much sealed my Shep to her forever. I don't think it's discussed much how far that goes coming from her and how far from her initial icy demeanor we've gotten. A similar line from someone like Tali or Liara wouldn't have even a quarter of the impact.

Shepard never says he's in love with her. Well, he says "I care about you Miranda, and I think you care about me" and another line to Liara for LotSB.

IIRC, she doesn't explicity admit to being in love with him, but she probably felt that she didn't need to. If it were me and I heard her say "So promise me you won't die damn it!", I'd know how she felt.

She implies it in the promise conversation. Refer to my signature. And no, Shepard never actually said it...yet.

That too.

I believe that's during the promise conversation, too.

Shepard also implies that he's in love with her, just not as in-your-face obvious as Miranda does.

You forget that she's the only one who cannot die.

At all.

Well, except for in ME3.

I guess I don't mind though. I like Liara, but I wouldn't romance her. My Shepard and her are good friends though.

Did you guys allow Miranda to kill Niket?
For me personally my Shepard has never let Miranda do that he also feels that killing Niket would be like killing a part of herself. Not sure if you guys agree or not

I don't let her kill him because of how she reacts afterwards.  I'll spare her that pain.

I let Miranda kill him. I'd shoot the right myself, if only the game would let me. And I don't like the blocking of the interrupt, with Shepard physically restraining her.

I trust her to know whether she can live with herself.

If there was any killing she thought needed to be done that might impact her psyche I was going to make sure I did it for her...

...actually glad I didn't have to make that choice either.

Also what happens if you don't let her talk to Oriana I could never do it myself. My Shepard cares about Miranda too much to not let her do that
