(Not counting the AAP armor), which suit do you like better for Miranda? White or black?

Black for sure. Even though it looks like a latex suit, it hides her camel-toe better.

I guess that's a valid reason...

Here's the problem I have with her presentation as a Catholic. Her creation was sinful, but the sin is her father's. Her beauty, intelligence, etc remain absolute goods regardless of how she got them. They are not something she needs to apologize for. Yet, I get the sense that the writers want her happy ending to be becoming normal. And she isn't. She has the same dignity as anyone else, but her achieving so much is good and something I want to continue to see her do.

This. Well, minus the Catholic bit. I was raised a Christian, but I don't really follow any religion (No offense to anyone)

I think we've expressed enough that among other things, we value Miranda for her drive to achieve the impossible, and the enhancements that made it possible that she does. There is some tacit acknowledgement of that in the ME3 romance parts. It's possible there will be more of that in the missing part. I guess it depends on how (un)willing the writers are to compromise their original vision. I get a very traditionalist vibe from Patrick Weekes, a non-traditionalist vibe from Mac Walters, and Miranda's new writer is a complete unknown. So I guess anything is possible.

I want Miranda to be the one who advances humanity by things like making Lazarus technology widely available...

As a general rule, things are less difficult the more you do them, so if they can salvage any tech from the base after the sabotage, it would save them a lot of time.

The hardest part would be generating the funds and calibrating the equipment again. And of course recruiting new scientists. Miranda would have to teach all of them by herself.

And small pieces of the tech can probably be replicated. The eyes, for instance, or Shep's resistance to poison.

I might add that I'd be OK with her resignation, if it wasn't for out-of-character reasons, featuring some after-the-fact moral taint the Collector base apparently has according to some philosophies.

I contest this. Her resignation has nothing to do with Shepard's decision regarding the Collector Base. You can pick neutral or renegade options in which case she will not say the "betrayal" line but still resign if Shepard destroys the base or you can pick paragon options but still keep it and she does not resign.
The line "Or what, you'll replace me next?" suggests that what made her resign was Harper's order to kill Shepard, the person who had just stopped the Collectors, which makes sense considering some of the earlier lines Miranda has regarding trust.

What MisterJB said!  ;)
I totally loved it when Miranda said this!   In my mind, she's NOT out-of-character.

We all have our own ideas and views on how we preceive this.  No one is right or wrong just a difference way of thinking...

Thank you.

If I said it, I'd come off as a snarky, douchey ******.

The white outfit looks like an honest-to-God burger wrapper. Seriously. Grab a burger from any place that packages them in that aluminum foil type wrapper. Open it and look at the inside of the wrapper. Same shades, same hexagonal pattern.... black catsuit all the way. Many thanks to this thread for telling me how to replace the white one. Not really a fan of the armor either. It looks decent but the fanservice outfits, illogical though they may be aren't that much of a game breaker for me.

Now then... where exactly is Miranda presented as a Catholic? Better yet, where apart from Ashley, Thane and vague references to asari godesses is religion even mentioned in Mass Effect?

Edit: forgot the Heretics' Reaper worship. But my question still stands.

I never said she was. I am. I agree with the writers' implication that her creation was wrong. I disagree with the idea that this poisons her gifts.

Miranda is likely an atheist.

I agree with your assessment vis a vis her origins. How can any of us be judged by how we were brought into the world, or even judge ourselves? It's what you do with it that counts, and she definitely has.

God, I hope the writers don't want her to become normal. I don't really get a sense of that. Sounds like we'll be trying to keep up with her everytime she lunges for the next rung on the ladder, or be there to catch her if she misses it. That's what I'm taking from the rumors at least.

Okay. Thanks for clearing that up jtav.

I'm Catholic myself (though non-practicing with the exception of Lent), but never really thought about the implications of her creation. Even if I did view it as morally wrong, I still wouldn't be able to hold it against her as it wasn't her choice. It would just add more fuel to the anti-Mr. Lawson fire.

Ah, those tricky commas.
"agree with her presentation as a Catholic" vs "agree with her presentation, as a Catholic". Gotcha.
I have Christian roots myself but I don't think I'd agree her creation was sinful. But that'd be getting into a religious debate and I don't think any of us are up for it.

I do have an issue with painting normalcy as bad. This issue is dealt with in superhero circles all the time. Wanting to be normal really stems from a desire to be included, to belong. I don't believe such a desire can be faulted. The even bigger point is how subjective normalcy really is. Given that it's just a view of the majority I feel it could easier be shifted as opposed to completely overthrown. There is no reason normal can't shift from "family in the suburbs with white picket fence" to the same but where everyone has freakin laser beams attached to their heads (humorous exaggeration).

Saying thing like "normal is bad" or "I don't want her to be normal" is both denying a perfectly natural desire of inclusion and arbitrarily rejecting a moderate change in favor of a more extreme one. Both with little to no reason I'd say.

Let me rephrase that:

The vibe I get from the leak is that deep down, Miranda just wants a loving family and all the extraordinary things she did are compensations for the normal life she can't have. And her family is the only thing she cares about. The ambition that attracted me is absent. The devs are not framing this a both/and but either/or.

I don't think Miranda desires normalcy (Unless there's dialogue that says otherwise, that I'm forgetting).

Rather, she just thinks that her accomplishments aren't really "hers" (If that makes sense), due to her artificial birth and genetic tailoring. She envies "Normal" people, like Shepard, who accomplish some of the same things she does, but without the enhanced abilities. She acknowledges her gifts and utilizes them to their full potential, but doesn't bask in her achievements, like most people would. She's jealous, but isn't rushing to become normal.
