What's wrong with wanting her to be happy? It's entirely possible to appreciate her character while still wanting the best for her.

I've considered creating a MaleShep to romance Ash with, but if Ash is available for S/S, I have a FemShep ready for her. So there wouldn't be a point.

I was going to make a Shepard to romance Ashley but reading what she says regarding Miranda in ME3 has turned me off her completely.
