I mean, when I'm done playing through ME3 several times, I MAY start a FemShep run, but it might hurt a bit.
Don't do it if it's going to make you uncomfortable.

Mostly that, yes, but we've had a few very unhappy confrontations. Most of them having to do with the Big Fanbase Split between people who want Miranda more emotional/romance-focused and people who want her more professional/mission-focused. It was interesting to see the correlation of sets of opinions in both factions, I must say. The split is still there but since there is nothing more to gain by having sovereignity of interpretation, it isn't as virulent as it used to be at times. So at least with regard to this, we're more relaxed now.AgitatedLemon wrote...
Y'know, I'm almost sad I wasn't around earlier. Everytime I go digging for a picture or wallpaper that came from these threads, I see all the discussions and everyone seemed legitimately happy and interested in whatever you guys were talking about.
Personally, I'm happy if there's anything interesting to talk about. It is time ME3 comes out. We need new material for appreciation and debate.

I hope I will STILL be considered a Mirimancer/Mirimaniac when and IF that time comes:unsure:, considering that IF I play a FemShep Run, I'm won't be romancing ANYONE, not one.

I got into the series when ME2 came out on the PS3 last January. I've been posting in the Miranda threads off and on pretty much since that point. Still not nearly as long as Ieldra2, jtav and company though.CrutchCricket wrote...
Sweet, thanks. Just reading some of the old threads now. Man it really feels like digging up the past lol.
I think it's cool that you guys have stuck around so long. I don't envy you the wait though. I only discovered this series in August. And though I didn't think of it at the time I understand why you guys were freaking out so much when the first leak hit. You've had much longer to forge your fandom, much longer to wait for it to be validated and now it looked like they were gonna screw you.
Here's to hoping we all enjoy the payoff come March:wizard:

On a Logical Note, FemShep IS a Woman. And playing through as FemShep isn't my Canon. I just need to remember that my ONE TRUE Mass Effect Story is a Male Shep who has Romanced with Miri and ONLY Miri.

Of course you are.
I like to think of the non-canon Shepard's as "What-if?" scenarios, just fun experiments.

I guess you haven't read my post about how it appears to others if you repeat "Miranda is my one and only" too often in a short time. Simmer down, 101, we all know that already.
@AgitatedLemon:
I have some Shepards I consider real, and some I consider experiments. Two of the "real" ones are main Shepards, one male and one female.

I'll bet money and say that this thread (As well as the other character threads) will explode once ME3 drops.
The nerdrage will be glorious.

^ Becuase I would be playing a FemShep, one who can't Romance with Miri. I don't think I can go through a Playthrough with Miri saluting me, rather than kissing me. You know what I mean. As much interesting as it is to play as a FemShep. I don't know how I would go through Mass Effect without Miri being my LI, even with a Male Shep.
Fair enough.
I get that feeling whenever I try to romance someone who isn't Miranda.
So I immediately drop that person and go to Miranda. Does that make me a terrible person?

Only if ME's CIA is similar to CoD's CIA

6 hour long Michael Bay movie. I think that sums it up nicely.

I'll take your word for it. I generally don't play online MP (though I will for the first time for ME3) and $60 for a game that lasts all of 6 hours of playtime is a bit too much.AgitatedLemon wrote...

I'll admit, Vega may make me want to make a FemShep. He's turning out to be a character I can like.
Agreed Lemon .
From the leak and the video/presentation of his VA, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing him in ME3.
He seems to fulfil the role which was previously supposed to be given to Jacob in ME2 . I think/hope BW took good care of him in order to prevent a "Jacob Flop" from happening again.

I just hope that I don't need to grab my pitchfork and march on Edmonton. Also I can see some pretty bad claims being made about Miranda in the light of her death scene. One thing she says to Oriana may turn out to become my most hated Miranda line in two games, and that includes the "betrayal" line so yes, it's bad.AgitatedLemon wrote...

Explain the bad claims you can foresee happening.
And can you tell me (Or PM me) the line she says to Oriana?

Vega seems a bit naive. Not stupid, but just naive. Miranda may be put off by this to an extent, but as he matures along the path of the narrative, she may be willing to work with him, even if she wouldn't be his friend.
And part of me wants to think his friendship path with MaleShep is going to be very dudebro-esque (More so than Jacob's by a long shot), another thing that might put Miranda off.

I don't have the line extracted (I'm already trying to forget it exists), but it can be interpreted as all that Miranda always wanted was family and children and she was so obsessed with giving Oriana a normal life because she couldn't have one herself. Basically, a complete destruction of everything I ever liked about Miranda in one sentence.
It's enough to avoid her death scene fastidiously, emotionally well-written as it is. She has nothing even remotely like that if she survives. Which makes me think we're supposed to see Miranda in the different versions of her story arc as different people.
You can see the claims people will make about Miranda based on this.

Vega really seems to check all of the boxes for being a good match for femshep. He's got a good dose of normallity like Jacob, he gives Shepard a nickname like Thane, and he's still a pretty interesting character. The other benefit is that Shepard and Vega have that six months where they get to know each other before ME3 starts.
On how Miranda would react to Vega...It would be a little complicated. Jim's quite a bit like Shepard subtlety is not his strong suit, he's brash and boisterous but he's still a professional soldier. The thing is that unlike the ME2 squadmates or Shepard, James doesn't really seem used to being exposed to the weirdness that the rest of the crew encounters on a daily basis.
There's also his tendancy to nickname everyone...and I really wouldn't attempt to try that with Miranda and expect to survive the reprisal.
