Aside from the obvious "She coulda died" *cough Garrus and Tali*, the logic is incredibly ham fisted.

I think people give too much credit, to the constraint of the SM mission, seriously. I'm pretty convinced they had major plot points mapped out and that really means the characters as well. From Me1 to Me2 your team members branch out and become intergrated into the galaxy. Wrex goes to the krogan homeworld, the VS stays with the alliance, and the only two people that come back are garrus and tali. So by mass effect 3, with squad members from me1 and me2 branched out and intergrated into the galaxy will have much stronger feelings for the multiple groups involved. Well kind of in theory. Like I care more for the krogan because of wrex/grunt. More for the geth/quarians because of legion and tali.
I think mirandas presence will really give the cerebrus side plot, emotion, with miri involved. And again , another point if Miri were on the ship her persona would eclipse some of the other characters, and itd just be plain hard to write, to stay true to everyones character. A side mission esq involvement I think will best serve miris character, along with a really strong ending.

That doesn't keep the logic from being out-of-this-world level of ham fisted.
And Miranda's story wouldn't eclipse anyone else's story if they put forth the effort to either shrink her role down or inflate the other characters.

I believe that BW message is "You liked the wrong character."
We won't have any ME2 character back on the Normandy, but we'll have the ME1 squaddies, the awesome Vega, *spoilers* prothy the prothean and EDI as sexy fembot for in your party.*spoilers*

They introduced Paragon elements into Miranda's part of the endgame to tell the Paragons "you can romance her, too".
I don't think that really makes sense. All of that is after the romance anyway.
I think it would be more accurate to say that, thoughout the game, there are two clear paths one can follow in the romance/relationship, one where you are basically two happy Renegades going about your business, and another where Miranda gets in touch with her feelings/becomes more noble, due to Paragon Shep's influence.
This is evident notably in the two choices on the LM, where this time Shep prevents the summary execution (as opposed to what happens with Wilson early on), and then encourages her to talk to her sister. So, the resignation is more like the payoff for the work you did, as a Paragon player, to build a closer relationship with Miranda.
In the Renegade version, I think the idea is more: Miranda, along wth no doubt other factors, influenced Shep and now s/he is onboard with Cerberus. But anyway: there are consciously two paths throughout, which is one of the reasons why you get a lot of division on what the character is "really" about, etc.

money.
This post is good stuff. I think some people in the miri camp like her character because she's so nuanced, and hence like their shep to be.. a complex person as well. But I dont think the writing of shep really backs a complex shep, they kind of gave into the para/rene mechanics a bit too much. But this post pretty much encompasses the rene/para miri path pretty damn well. Where others, might try to paint shep in a light that isnt really possible, (because of the para/reneg mechanics.) Because there trying to make shep into something he can't bet, they miss what the game tells us via the para/reneg path. Above post is a conscise reminder

Nothing... just that the pandering was too obvious, even if they try to justify it with the "galaxy at war" concept (new limbo for all the ME2 characters).

Another thought it seems either going rene/or para would really leave a me3 miri in a completely different mindset. I mean one of her, lacking traits is leadership. But how would she feel with a renegade shep, who, in the end was influenced to see her side of things. Kinda like you were saying the rene path was basically a mirror image of the para path but with shep and miris positions reversed.

No, thanks to the utterly shameless and retarded pandering to the buckethead. In other words, Bioware shamelesssly wh*red themselves out to a bunch of kids. Time to go postal on Bioware.
... Basically.
Could you make your point without otherwise insulting people?
