Who's Diana Allers and what's wrong with her character design?

She's an embedded Alliance reporter who's on the Normandy. As for her character design, she wears a tank top. She's also voiced by and modeled on IGN/G4's Jessica Chobot.

I checked the thread, and I don't really see anything wrong with the tank top its, just a shirt. Is there something to suggest that she's designed to be eyecandy or is there a reason in the script for her to be around?

As for Miranda's redesign, I can't imagine her straying too far from what she had on before. But some of the new options for Femshep have been creeping up and they've been pleasing thus far, so hopefully they do Miranda justice. I mean I don't hate what they did with JAck, but its not the direction I would've gone, so we'll have to wait and see.

She's a war reporter, but when you think about it, I'm not sure there's a point, unless she's keeping tabs on Shep for the Alliance. I mean, people on Earth already know what the heck is going on, they're too busy trying to stay alive to watch any news I would think.

Maybe her news reports are going to be for propaganda purposes?

About Allers, check her support thread. The fact she got one about one second after the reveal says a lot.

You're only partly right Ieldra. I jumped at the opportunity to make it partly because I wanted to make a support thread before anyone else did. But I do approve of casting Chobot (though I reserve the right to change my mind if she fails to deliver a good performance), I'm genuinely interested in seeing the character given her potential. I also understand why they did cast the way they did and I admit appearances play a big factor in all of this.

No real surprises or anything. The Vega stuff is all that really stood out to me.

Obviously, I would have been pleased had Strahovski taken part.

Yup, she might even be a squadmate for some mission's, in my country combat reporters are often just soldiers that had the same combat training as regular troops

I usually stick to gamespot or machinima, so I had to google her. She's not that attractive though. At least not enough to cause such an uproar over making her a character and crying pandering to the lowest sexual denominator. Now if EDI were designed like Helfer and acted like Caprica six then this would be an argument to make, but for now she's just some woman with a puffy face in a tanktop. Can't see the point of getting passionate in either direction.

get a lot of respect from me from me for going into warzones with little to no experience of being in a war zone to get the story. And how do people see that back home... Well, that's another topic entirely.

  Dutch war reporter, ( My country) the batteries of his camera ran low and he joined the fight after the video, but where getting oftopic, i feel like Miranda is getting replaced by this reporter and Ashley, I mean three hot chicks who don't look much different from eachother .... can be a bit confusing for the newbies

Well, she's in the game. As to why Bioware has not seen fit to release any images or footage, that is anyone's guess at this point.
