Wrex is dead in ME2 by default if you don't import. So there is precedent.

Why would that matter to you? Aren't you fond of telling us you never romance anyone but Miranda?MASSEFFECTfanforlife101 wrote...
^ That's how it was for me before I finally Imported. Now that I look back, ME2 lacks in a few parts without importing (NO ROMANCE IN ME1!!!!).

For me it would be worth the price. If Miranda's motivation for her actions is never clear, I can put my own interpretation in, if it's told it's only about Oriana and never about the big picture I'm stuck with that.CrutchCricket wrote...
Funny I prevent her shooting Niket precisely because that's emotional overload. In any case this argument seems overcompensating to me. I get the professional desire but Oriana and Shepard (if romancing) are supposed to be the exceptions, the gaps in the icy armor if you will. The problem as I understand it isn't too much emotion on those fronts but rather not enough exhibition of the professional. Trying to modify the former isn't fixing the latter. It might tip the net amount if you want to look at it like a ratio but that's a cheap victory (if that) and not worth the price.
Ah....are you telling me that the default setting for ME2 is "romanced Ashley or Kaidan"? Never played a default game, so I wouldn't know.MASSEFFECTfanforlife101 wrote...
It matters to me because unlike "some" people, I'm not having that cheating nonsense in ME3. I just can't see why some people find i amusing.

Which means you get a more reliable single setup with the default. It's so hard to avoid being ninja 'manced by Ashley.jtav wrote...
The default is single, but with the o/s VS alive.

It's not THAT hard actually, if you know how to nuke the romance exactly. If you tell her to get in line when she comments on how many aliens are there on board, it nukes any romance possibility forever AFAIK.Ieldra2 wrote...

ME2 is the same, especially if you play with Zaeed and Kasumi, since then you don't need to recruit Samara, Thane or Tali. 45 minutes for every recruitment mission, Freedom's Progress, Horizon, the CS mission and Reaper IFF, plus an hour or so for the SM = 7 hours. You'll lose at least four people on the SM though.MASSEFFECTfanforlife101 wrote...
Now that I think about it... if there were NO Side Missions in ME1, not one, ME1 would have been very short to the point where you can complete it in several hours.

The problem is that Ashley has very good conversations that allow you to roleplay many aspects of your Shepard. You can establish his political views, wheter he is religious or not, etc.IsaacShep wrote...

In fact, even a completionist playthrough of ME2 with all missions/assignments done, all resources collected, all conversation options explored, no conversations or transfer sequences skipped, including all DLC, took me only 26 hours playing on Casual (ME1: 22 hours). Note that as opposed to ME1, the timer doesn't stop in conversations, and neither if you open up the main menu.
