Well, good. That's as it should be, of course.
And don't think I won't be right there with you, if that proves to be necessary.

I doubt she'll have more than a Kelly-sized role. I don't see her as being a factor that intervened with Miranda's ME3 presence. And she's obviously not squad.Ieldra2 wrote...

Are you seriously comparing Miranda to Kelly, Given her past with Cerberus she should haveCrutchCricket wrote...

a big role in the Cerberus plot.

No I'm saying Diana will likely have a Kelly-sized role and such a role would not have significant impact on Miranda's presence in ME3.

I believe he was comparing Diana to Kelly.
Edit:
Ieldra's point wasn't that Diana affected Miranda's role specifically, though, Crutch, but moreso, if I may, the larger issue that they can arrange for Miranda to be around a lot... or not.

No specific spoilers, no. Basically, they can decide to make a game where Miranda is around a lot, or one where she is essentially never around. The leak is more like #2. That is the issue. Diana is not all that relevant, really, except as another example of a character who is contrived to be around a lot.

This was drawn by a friend of mine to show the dilemma my canon femshep, Kallen, has to go through in the romance department.

This might be one of the few times I agree with you.

As opposed to the attention some minor characters are getting, not to speak of new team members, Miranda's presence as evidenced by the leak makes her appear as an afterthought, as if they didn't know what to do with this unloved legacy of a game the cast of which they'd rather forget ever existed. There's some new, original stuff written about minor characters, but Miranda is stuck with the least interesting aspect of her old story arc. And there's not a single word about her either. Then the impression that the variant of her story that ends with her death got quite a bit more attention than the alternative. It's as if they want her - and *specifically* her - buried.

I told jtav I don't want to get stuck in the mindset of November, but I'm finding it pretty hard to avoid.

Well I seem to remember bringing up a similar line of arguments a few months ago in regards to Vega. And I don't believe many people agreed with me. I don't think its a matter of resources at least not for any specific character. But the point could be made that all the money they spent collectively on the new characters on the Normandy could've been spent on Miranda content. I suspect though that other objections would arise.
It's not an either/or situation. Obviously there need to be some new characters in the mix. But the returning characters need to be handled properly as well. That should really be a given. There are enough... unanswered questions, I would say, about what Miranda's role will look like in the final product, that I think it's best to reserve judgment for the time being.
But the leaked script, as it stands now, is laughably inadequate. It's not even in the ballpark of an acceptable appearance. Not even close. We're not talking about splitting hairs, or ideal scenarios, or whatever. That hasn't changed since November, it is just... on hold.

It angers me too. They put a reporter on the Normandy who is most likely not part of the Squad, rather then having characters like Miri back on the Normandy?
Diana Allers is definitely minor. It's like BioWare made her only for the fact that they either ran out of ideas, or they had one more empty spot on the Normandy.
Yeaaaaahh, that's definitely logical and reliable: Placing a random "minor" character on the Normandy, instead of a more Important Character.<_<

ME2 characters were sidelined. We don't know why and we haven't been able to logically figure out why. New ME3 characters have been created. There is no connection between the two apart from a shift in resources. But that shift was not caused by the new characters. There may be a correlation but there is no causation.
We have a month to go. Let's try and keep calm.
