It comes through pretty strongly if you don't let her talk to her sister. It's pretty clear that security isn't why she's staying away. More that she's afraid she's somehow toxic for her sister or that Oriana will reject her.

If you make her speak to Oriana, it comes across pretty strongly that she's afraid of the emotional connection. And of course she's afraid to be rejected. She loves her sister, who wouldn't be?

I agree she's a little harsh to herself in the other version, but your interpretation is incongruous with the tone she uses when she first looks at Oriana and says you should leave. It's as if she's looking for an after-the-fact justification for shying away from the contact with her sister.

Also, what flemm said.

so have any of us seen what Miranda is going to look like in ME3 yet? Any concept art of her being leaked?

Nope.

I have this crazy theory that the big twist is going to be that she is permanently cloaked all the time in ME3.

So maybe she has been in some screenshots and we don't even know it... Image IPB

So not only do we know nothing about her presence, but her role may be unsatisfactory and they're making her steal Kasumi's schitck? I think I may finally begin to rage:devil:

Something like Liara's LotSB outfit, only in black and gold.

@101:
I believe they said helmets will be removeable.

More references to a cloaked Miranda incoming...

Also what type of background is better with Miranda:
1.earthborn
2.colonist
3.spacer
Also:
1.war hero
2.Ruthless
3.survivor

I go with Earthborn personally, since she's also Earthborn. As for the psychological profile part, I'm not sure. Probably not Survivor though. Miranda wouldn't have a problem with a Sole Survivor I wouldn't think, but it wouldn't make sense (to me anyway) to romance her if you had that profile simply because the Thresher Maw ambush was a trap sprung by Cerberus. Again, that's just my personal opinion.

I would like if she didnt feel the need to use her 'femme fatal' assets on Shep in ME3. That somehow their relation would be passed that. I would like to see her in something more laid back when she chats with Shep on the vidophone for example. I figure they wont give her 24 different outfits and i wont mind if she wears her usual on the job or something cute in the romance scenes but I think something casual would be a nice twist if used a t the right moment.

I'm curious as to how her relationship with Shepard will continue in ME3 if you went that way.

She's likely not going to be a playable party member, but if you romanced her and brought her along with you when you decided to nuke the Collector base and she gave T.I.M her resignation, she should at least stick around on the Normandy and perform misc activities like Yeoman Chambers and whatnot do.

The way I think they should do it is make an companion slot and let Shepard's ME2 LI fill it if they aren't one of the characters already in the ME3 confirmed party.

I don't want to see her drawn into Harper's crazy plan or possibly be indoctrinated by the Reapers.

Hmmmm can't say I really agree. She puts Oriana's safety and happiness above her own. So, encouraging her to talk to Oriana is almost like encouraging her to... indulge. Miranda tends to have unrealistically high standards for herself. But that's not the same thing as self-loathing.

ChaChing!

w/o reading the leak and from what I gather from the comments here things do seem really grim. Considering how crafted her death scene is compared to the content if she's left alive. Meaning its something theyll quickly gloss over.

Hmm...can't say that I agree that her self esteem is that low, due to the very first conversation: "I'm very good at just about anything I do."

I caught her gazing at Liara's outfit once or twice in LotSB. She seemed to have a "I think I'd look pretty darn good in an outfit like that" kind of look on her face...

...I have a screenshot of it.

You know what this is? BioWare possibly made this game on behalf of the ME1 fanatics and ONLY the ME1 fanatics.

Think about it, Garrus and Tali were in ME1 as well, so even if they could die, BioWare still wanted them there in ME3 special for thos ME1 fanatics.

They wanted to do this crap all along. BioWare wanted to make a plot where it goes back in the ME1 fanatics' favor by placing Shepard back into the Alliance, without even stopping to think that there ARE Players who dislike the Alliance for very good reasons.

BioWare placed us back into the Alliance unwillingly. When diong this, it allowed BioWare to place EVERY damn character of the SR1 back on the Normandy because the Normandy is Alliance again.
They made it seem like the ME2 Characters weren't important all along!

That's Bull****! There are many reasons why some of those Characters should have little screen time:

1) Liara is the Shadow Broker FFS. She has no reason to be there in your Squad for the Entire Game (if you didn't Romance her).

2) Tali should be Helping her people in the Migrant Fleet, not constantly staying behind Shepard like some crazed Fangirl.

3) Kaindan/Ashley are Spectres now, right? Why do they not have a ship of their own?

4) Garrus should round up some forces on his own. He's a Leader for crying out loud.

BUUUTTT NOOOOOOO.

They're on the Normandy for the ENTIRE damn game, making it another ME1 and SR1.

UGH Mass Effect 3 should be good for EVERYONE, NOT a damn portion of the fans! Wake up BioWare!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just try to remember how people cried and complained about ME2 and all the stuff left in ME

And I remember how the buckethead's groupies b*tched and wailed about how they couldn't get their waifu until halfway into the game in ME2. You just can't please everyone MEFan, but you CAN please a significant majority of the fanbase. Which does not consist of the buckethead and Garrus groupies. That's the minority.

Also, MEFan, I don't mind the Virmire Survivor on my ship. I mean, the VS fans got shafted over almost as badly as us in ME2, so they deserve this recompense. WTF is Liara doing on my ship instead of hers feeding me vital information, and I just don't understand why those two disgustingly overrated pieces of rotting deadwood are clinging to me like stray dogs to a piece of meat.

Well, that's sort of why I think the "self-confidence vs. self-esteem" concept is useful. With most people, low self-esteem would likely mean low self-confidence, but with Miranda, it doesn't.

This is in flux, though. Arguably, and depending on dialog options a bit, one of the things Shepard does is nudge Miranda a bit more toward appreciating her accomplishments, rather than focusing only on her mistakes.

And, theoretically, the whole thing could be resolved via a confrontation with the father. It's unresolved daddy issues, basically, but of a bit of an unusual variety, due to the circumstances involved.
