Grayed out text so I can be as clear as possible

I don't think it means pregnancy either. But it does mean a family. She'll be able to have a real relationship with her sister and the normal life she craves--and her death scene implies she wants it for Oriana because she can't have it herself. We already know she's working with the Alliance in some way. We also have lines that refer to Cerberus as destroyed, with none referring to it being repurposed. It also fits with the Paragon theme of reintergrating people or things into the community. See Jack.

Well, the reason that feels likely to you, jtav, is that it's what you don't want, and you tend to assume the worst by default.

That means two things. One, it means you'll be right at least some of the time, because stuff happens, and we often don't get what we want. Two, it means you're not very good at analysing stuff you care about objectively.

There's little to no actual evidence for the scenario you outline there. It could happen, I guess, but it's no more or less likely than a bunch of other scenarios, based on the info we have.

To me I'm not that concerned about that particular line, in a way I'm glad its there because it gives the player the option to tell a story where Miranda is a tragic character. Its not my particular cup of tea but I'm all for the idea of being able to tell different stories with a character.

With your point with Jack, there's some interesting spins on her story if you didn't romance her in ME3. Going to Pragia and surviving the SM gave her some closure and she's moved on from her past. She ends up taking the offer to work at the Ascension Project less because of Shepard, and more because its what she wants to do.

Alternatively with Miranda, her LM doesn't really have her get that closure. If anything, talking to Oriana and knowing that she could have a role in her sister's life gives her a reason to make it through the SM in one piece. I view ME3 as being the point where either:

a) Miranda finally confronts her past and emerges stronger for it.

B) She dies and is remembered as being a tragic figure.

Considering that with sufficient warning she holds her own against *spoiler character* I'd say there's a good chance that she'll have a rather impressive story in ME3.

Thank you, Dr. Doctor. I was looking for a convincing optimistic angle, and you found it. The only drawback is that it doesn't remove the concerns about Miranda's motivation.

Agreed. We're missing something, not sure if it'll be anything great, but hopefully not a nightmare scenario anyway.

We would've had much less traffic if not for all the complaining about Miranda's oversexualized presentation, that's for sure :P

You know what? I don't care if I'm character bashing. I can't stand the fact that Characters like Liara are getting all of the good stuff in ME3, like dialog, screen time, whatever. Why BioWare? Why give special treatment to only a few Characters? Miri is VERY important as well.

Shun me if you want! It's all the Liara fans' fault. They pushed and pushed. BioWare is no exception either. They treat Liara like she is the damn mascot!

*hysterical laughter* I'd say Liara's fans had nothing to do with it. Rather, the writers and developers always saw her as a central character for the entire series. I'm mildly irritated by her role in ME3, but mostly because her role as Shadow Broker feels tacked on to make her even more special. The role of intelligence gatherer and Prothean expert should have been split between two characters. And characters get "special treatment" because some are more important to the overall narrative than others. I'm writing a fanfic right now. Miranda has a smaller role than Oriana. Not because I don't like Miranda, but because the story I wanted to tell required Oriana to be a central character. I certainly wasn't listening to the fans. Now you can argue--I would argue--that Miranda should have had a much larger role than she appears to have, but they were never going to be fair.

Liara is not the ONLY Central Character. BioWare severely lacks Common Sense. EVERY ****ing Character is Important FFS.

I want Miri to have a Larger Role. Why did BioWare play us like this?

I have a topic: What is the one thing you want to happen between Miranda and Shepard in ME3? Could be something romantic and sweet or just a friendly gesture between comrades. Anything you want...

I want my Shepard to say "I love you" but I'm just a romantic like that! Lol. Anyway...discuss.

At the end Id want your whole crew to be nominated for spectre statis, (mordin, wrex, tali, garris miranda...) And continue working as a team. in some fuzzy way. Shep and miri co-leading, Your team would be somewhat dividied up into sub groups, like mordin wrex and garris falling under miranda, while say- tali kaiden, legion falling under shep.

@schemata:
I wonder if Spectres will even exist after the war. And I want the characters to go their own way. They're all starting a new story in their lives. Miranda will be free of her father's shadow and TIM's manipulations and work for the advancement of humanity in her own way (if the writers let her....if not, hmm, where's my tar and feathers), Tali will be with the quarians, etc. etc..

Let's keep in mind that it is possible that after the War ends, they will be chaos.
And Someone has to keep Peace and Order. Yeah Miranda will be free from the Ilusive Man, Tali will be with her people in their Homeplanet. The Geth will built the Dison sphere an live peacefully. The Krogan will
be free from Sterility, of course if the Writers and Yours desicions let that happen.
But that doesn't mean their won't be chaos.
Species trying to challenge others,Merc bands Getting back to what they used to do.ect,ect.

@ Jtav

I haven't been able to do the Liara romance since ME2 was released, but I sort of get a Princess Irulan vibe from her character. She's one of the few characters who's known what Shepard's been through from start to finish. Someone has to keep the story straight and it might as well be her.

Now I really want an ME game that uses DA2's framed narrative mechanic.

Maybe they won't be? But maybe? I mean at the end of the day hopefully there will still be a galaxy left with different civilzations left in it. guess there'd be a government in place to give voice to those civiliztions so there still may be a need for a council, and following the council a need for spectres.  And I guess in my mind it's... keeping them in the fray.  I mean after big climaxs (confronting the reapers) some may want the major characters to wind down' they've somehow earned their peace or retirement.

In my minds eye my shep was in the military/operative/spectre before the reapers were really real. So to me it's his nature, and it wasn't just a matter of extenuating circumstances that brough him front and center; it was his very nature. And most of his inner crew share his nature.  I mean after defeating sovergein and saren they all couldve retired then, they earned it. But their nature brought them back in.  Garris went solo against omega, mordin, opened a clinic after his big moment of an altered genophage.  I could see where some people could go off and do their thing; namely wrex and tali, but for shep, miri, garris, (few others I could see them seeking out missions and such.)

More than that I just think spectre statis offers a bigger stage thats more in line with how big shep, miris characters are, they would need... galatic problems for their.. skillset... opposed to a human only agenda; giving them only specie problems. If that makes sense. with how shep is intergrating aliens, (para) and miri's tactician side they could turn the spectres from a single person unit operation into it's own entity.

quoting myself, weird but I didnt want to edit.  I also feel that the renegade path, and paragon path could leave two very distinctive endings. (didnt want to edit the original post)

Paragon, shep is larger than miri and influences her; impacting her awareness, and world view. Changing her; to a yet to be seen new world view. (hopefully one that is larger and incorporates other species.) Can be seen with her resignation.

Renegade its the mirror image of the paragon with roles reversed.  Where Miri is larger than shep and influences him to see that cerebrus is the right way to go.

So I think it would be Paragon>Galatic interests; intergration with different
species (spectre type operation(more shep influence than miri)
Renegade> Human interests, and advancing humanity within the galaxy,                                                                                 (likely reforming or adapting cerebrus: More miri influence then shep)
But both would be similiar in function to a degree.

It's not the fault of the Liara fans. It's just that Liara happens to be Mac Walter's waifu, so...massive nepotism right there. If you be blamin' anyone for  pushing and wailing, blame the bucketgroupies.

Anyways, I'd like to see Shepard lead a semi-autonomous spec ops group while Miranda takes on the role of a powerful information broker while raising her kids together with Shepard. And cue paranoid about her kids Miranda.
