Can Cryo Ammo freeze the really big enemies (Like YMIR mechs)?

I know the Avalanche can.

Even if you freeze them, I imagine it still takes a while to whittle their health down. So it's more like freezing big enemies isn't worth it.

Personally I find the Collector Particle Beam the most versatile. Hence it's my heavy of choice. I imagine Miranda would be partial to the Arc Gun- very good against synthetics and it's Cerberus tech.

Some people don't use cryo. Revenant Soldier so I find inferno more useful. Kills enemies quickly at close range and panics nearby mooks for about 3 seconds until you move on to them. Cryo is good for ranged combat though.

My Squad uses Cryo, while I use Inferno Ammo.

No, I mean Mordin and Legion are galaxy changers. Miranda gives you nothing you can't get elsewhere.

Not really.

You could pluck one of Mordin's STG buddies (Or even Maelon), or, assuming Legion doesn't ever hook up to the geth network after ME2, just fabricate a new body.

Not the point.
Each playthrough is a closed universe. In playthroughs where Mordin is alive, the krogans have to thank him. Mordin Solus cured the Genophage, no one else.
Sure, you, the player, can just say "Another scientist from STG could have done it.". But Shepard, the character, doesn't know that.
Miranda has something like this, it might just not be important enough.

Which is why I always use the word "Could".

I know that every play through is its own universe, and I try to avoid placing my choices into other's games. For me, since I let Maelon live in both of my canon Shepards, I could just have him continue from his own or Mordin's research, and voila, Mordin isn't needed.

It works fine for me. It doesn't teke me long to take down a YMIR Mech, being a Vanguard and all.

How many minutes of screen time do you think Miranda will have? I think it'll be a lot like a ME2 loyalty mission. 15-20 minutes including 3-5 minutes of dialogue.

That's a good question. I honestly have no idea.

Considering the content in the leak (What parts I've seen, at least), I'm given the impression that there isn't a lot of face-to-face interaction between Shepard and Miranda, so I really don't know.

To be (brutally) honest, her role in ME3 is little more than an extended cameo, so I would wager something between 5-10 minutes, if that.

Christ almighty Lemon, extended cameo, 5 - 10 minutes, it's talk like that that scares the **** out of me and has made the last few months on this forum very unpleasant for me. I really don't know how I'm going to cope if this is the full extent of Miranda's screen time in ME3

I say extended cameo because it's more than, say, Shiala or Gianna or Wrex got in ME2, but it's certainly less than squad mates (And even some other non-squad characters).

It's disappointing, and I'm still bitter about it.

I think it will depend on your personal game save.

for example: in the paragon choice for destroying the collector base if you brought miranda you see her defect from cerberus. you will probably have missions to help her fight/run/hide/etc from cerberus. there will probably also be a mission or two related to her father and sister

Her appearance is dissapoiting but she is not a cameo. Cameos don't have relevant roles in main plot missions and get to speak to Shepard a couple of times before that.

I'm saying it wouldn't be worth it to freeze them since it would still take about the same amount to kill them.

I do that set up on my Vanguard. But my Soldier is Squad Disruptor/Inferno.

Well, frozen enemies take more damage and shatter upon death, and the Avalanche freezes them for a long time (10-20 seconds, I think), longer than Cryo Ammo does. Freezing big enemies is really only viable fr CC on high difficulties.

That's the main reason, because I'm a Vanguard.

It works just fine. Miranda rapidly fires the Mech and it freeze, then I charge and go buck wild. Hehehehe:devil:

Surely ME2 gameplay statistics dictate that Miranda is one of the more popular squad mates from ME2. I don't have any concrete proof but I assume that she is 1 of ( if not ) the most romanced LI's in ME2 ( since in many ways she is the obvious choice for people who care only about looks ) and we know from the statistics that she is one the most picked squad mates in ME2. It just would not make any sense for Bioware to just reduce her screen presence to just 5 - 10 minutes.

The Avalanche has a high ammo capacity (42) and I think you can drop a YMIR on Insanity with 8 shots. I say the Avalanche for Miranda only to highlight her "Ice Queen" archtype.

But the Arch Projector sounds good if a bit redundant with her Overload.

What distresses me about Miranda's role is that we're missing her contribution to the war effort. Legion, Samara, etc all give you something that you can't get if they're dead. The leak in its current state does not have that information.

Yeah she is the most used Squad Member and romanced Li in Me2 and she's getting 5 to10 minutes of
screen time.

And Kelly already gives Shepard some Cerberus resources, so yeah... jtav has a point.

Well, it looks like Miranda's contribution isnt necesary. You can get a perfect ending without her.

I'm sure she'll have a contribution, but I had no idea what it is. It could be very small lie Jacob's or very large like Legion and Mordin's.

I wanted her contribution to be turning Cerberus resources (funds, vessels, manpower, scientists) against the reapers.

But It looks that nothing related to Cerberus will remain.

Watch here.

Yeah, I thought Miranda (the ice queen, as some would like to call her) would get some pleasure from freezing her adversaries too.

Ed: HA! I just read your later post with the Ice Queen reference.

Is that not what's happening? Last I heard, her end-game and the ending to her arc hadn't been disclosed.
