I can only say that male scientists are also men. A man and woman in a room, the woman restrained - I guess it wouldn't take long for some secret desires to pop up in his brain, scientist or not.

I guess you're right, but for scientists as fanatical as Cerberus's I think it's easier to resist any secret urges they might have, they're just driven by the urge to "test" < hidden reference here :D

Also since we're talking captivity, if Miranda is ever captured in ME3, can't she just user her biotics to break free? how can someone restrain a biotic? is it just as easy as removing the biotic amp?

Yes. The fields aren't strong enough without the amp.

Jack on Purgatory? Though she was in cryo.

I would guess they'd put a biotic in some sort of restraining device that would make it difficult to focus their abilities.

The problem is I want to write a scene. And using her biotics in inventive ways to esacpe captivity - I did that already in another fanfic. Also biotics need certain movements as triggers, if you're restrained and can't perform them things can get difficult. Miranda has some unusual ones in my MEverse, but the situation would still prevent her from using them easily.

As for restraining a biotic, for the 100% sure version use omega-enkaphaline - though apparently that didn't work on Jack.

Edit:
Removing the bioamp might also do it, though the lore is unclear about whether they're always easily removable and how much of the work is done by the implant and how much by the amp. Also for small things like manipulating locks the unamplified version would still be enough.

I guess biotics are out of the question then, and I'd think Jack is the exception rather than the rule... is this scene for "Masks and Mirrors"?

Help me brainstorm something unpleasant? I have a MaleShep who despises Cerberus in general and Miranda in particular. And not in a sexual tension way. Suggestions?

That's not a lot of information to start with. Apart from that, I'm not sure if we're the right people to ask for help in that. If I'm guessing right, you're the only regular here who plays a Shepard who doesn't like Miranda. The best I can come up with is a femShep who's indifferent to her.

What exactly do you need help with?

@ViSeirA:
I'm trying to elaborate on my Shepard/Miranda reunion scene concept - the one in my blog - and make a short one-shot from it.

It's hard to come up with a good reunion scene with Miri. I'm trying to make one the takes place in the battlefield. One where Miri saves Shepard's ass.

Suggestions....?

Yeah, I read that one, it was awesome, if their actual reunion scene is comparable then we couldn't ask for more... let us know when you finish this scene :-)

Ieldra, here's what I'd do. I assume most of her captors know of her by reputation. I also assume she didn't go quietly. Let her play into the fantasy of being able to break such an "uppity ice queen b*tch." Provoke them slightly, then act terrified when it looks like they might retaliate. Meanwhile, she slips from the restraints and takes them out when they get too close.

What I'm mulling over is whether it's better to ignore her or not, particularly as I can't actually finish the playthroughs, but want to see what changes.

Thanks.

As for your Shepard, if he's Paragon he might want to convince her of the errors of her way, but then, if he really doesn't like her he might not bother. Anyway, IIRC you can cut off the romance at the LM debriefing by not saying "Nice to see there's a person under there. I thought you were all business"

Why do you want to play this anyway, if you don't plan to finish it? Ignoring Miranda by itself won't change anything except that which you're ignoring.

I was bored and i recently watched this and felt like epicness

so i came up speech for Miranda? what do you think?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mass Effect 2 fans, Mirimaniacs, My Brothers!

I see in your eyes the same fear that will take the heart of me,

A day may come when Miranda is not in Mass Effect,

A day when we Mirimaniacs breaks all bonds and fellowship,

But it is not this Game!,

An hour of Vorcha, and shattered biotic shields when the age of Humanity comes crashing down!

But it is not this Game!,

Some People say she not that important. And we we blast there tiny brains against a wall!

There will be people who call her a ****, And there will be thrown off cliffs as examples

So by every Reaper you destroy in the upcoming war, Think of the Perfect Miss Lawson and why your doing this.

So you can return home into her arms and walk off into the sunset!

Stand Mirimaniacs of Mass Effect !!

*EPIC POSE*

"We've got some awesome things planned for #ME3 at ComicCon in a few weeks. Hope to see you there! Will have more news on our plans soon."

I'm betting some new information gets dropped.

Also: VOTE FOR MIRANDA
http://social.bioware.com/3055753/polls/21627/
The guy has polls for every ME2 squadmate and he's going to make a thread with results in a few hours...and I kinda want Miranda to win...

Garrus is gonna win, although the definition of winning for each of us may be different, from my point of view, the character with the most conflicting votes is the winner, that way you know the writers made a character so distinct and real that almost everyone feels strongly about either way.

LOL
The reults are already up an no Garrus didn't 'win' (Author doesn't use the term 'win')
We made it to 3rd place
Poll is ongoing though...

EDIT:Looked again and it's ordered by when he put each poll up...

That's because he combined the first and second options, which in reality are different, She's awesome != She's nice, anyway let's not discuss data interpretation here.

Miranda is as always in the top 3.

Edit: It doesn't really matter, even if I used my method of interpretation, Jacob would be the most 'successful' character which he is not.

More like channeling Aragorn. A modified "Hold the line!" speech would've been more appropriate though.

The interesting thing is that Miranda has the most votes of all, positive and negative added - I count that as something of a win, because that means most people aren't indifferent to her.

There are just more people who hate her passionately than with Tali. Tali has more "Like" votes, but less "Dislike" votes, which is why she has less votes in total. She does seem to have the second largest fanbase though, judging by the votes. Still, something of a win, I agree.

In general, I doubt these polls are representative. You'd need official game data to determine how many people romanced her, had her on the squad for how long etc. to determine her popularity. The poll certainly proves that many people like her though. But we knew that before, didn't we...B)

Well she's the most used squadmate. BW said as much. Which just proves her skills are insane. And it's perfectly possible to love her and not her romance. I don't think any game stats measure fondness for the character per se.

I hope so! I'm gonna be there. Me and a friend were lucky enough to score some Saturday passes to SDCC the other day so we'll definitey be scouting for everything Bioware. I actaully heard they're going to be in the Gaslamp District right next to the convention center.
