I think we all want that (Or at least, the pessimists)

So she actually does die no matter what you do?
No. You can prevent her death if you meet her in a certain spot and tell her something (Spoilers, I'll PM you what it is).

But one does get the sense that someone on the dev team wanted her to die rather badly.

I think you guys would've accomplished what you wanted if you would've simply Twitter/Email spammed the devs. It's dumb but nowadays it's very effective.
But it's too late for changes to the game now..
Anyway, I imagine Mass Effect 3 is a much bigger game than Mass Effect 2 so could it be that Miranda's screentime in ME3, despite not being a squadmate, is comparable to her screentime in ME2?

A depressing thought, this. I've always had the feeling that this fanbase wasn't as outspoken to the devs as others. I don't include myself because I'm relatively new.KingMakaveli wrote...

Maybe "Wanting her to die rather badly" is stretching it too far, but I do get the vibe that someone REALLY dislikes her.
Her LotSB dossier is what gives me that sense.

I'm almost certain that most of the Bioware devs and writers don't like the character. And I'm not surprised of her treatment in ME3.

I doubt it's a "dislike" because like it's been said, it doesn't make a lot of sense. But dumping on her to get a reaction? That I can't disprove.kainee wrote...

ALL her knowledge? Certainly not. Everything that might be useful against the Reapers, certainly. Also everything that might be useful to take Cerberus down, *maybe* that, too. But she'll keep some knowledge for herself, just in case she wants to start a new organization after the war.enayasoul wrote...
Here's a question I've been thinking a lot about. Do you think Miranda would reveal any/all her Cerberus knowledge if asked? By Alliance Command say, Anderson or Hackett? In exchange for "immunity"? or something along those lines? Or maybe even to Commander Shepard? Or do you think that would be something very difficult for her to do (betray Cerberus) since she's been with Cerberus for 20 years or so?
Miranda is actually at the head of the list (whether romanced or not) of who is supposed to catch Shep as he jumps to the Normandy at the end of the SM. If she survives the SM, she'll be the one to catch him.AgitatedLemon wrote...
@Jynthor
Everyone has an AR during that scene (And a couple others as well), no matter what their weapon proficiencies are. I've also seen Tali and Kasumi with one as well, despite them obviously not being trained for it.
I just now noticed (Never thought about it before), but after Miranda falls, and Shepard catches her, Miranda returns the favor after Shepard leaps toward the Normandy and almost misses it. Just thought I'd point that out.

While I think it's silly to create a character that even the creators don't like, I see what you mean. Like I said before, I'm given the impression that 1 or a more of her writers don't like her, as given by the LotSB dossier.

Unfortunately I don't think the creators and supporters of Miranda are still in charge of the character or are still in the Bioware team.
I felt this lack of support for Miranda just after ME2. It's like they decided to sacrifice this character ... don't know why. <_<

Yes, Miranda's writer is a different one from ME2, though he's present in ME3 team (it's Patrick Weekes).
AgitatedLemon wrote...
Technically, Miranda was written by a number of people in ME2. I know Mac did her early-game stuff and some of the banter, and (I think) Patrick handled everything else (Romance, Loyalty, various conversations).
I know for a fact that there was at least 2 people writing her parts, and Mac was one of them. No idea about who's writing her bits in ME3.

Speaking of the LotSB dossier, what's the point of it? What does Miranda being sterile add to her character?
To her character? Nothing. The message is "Genetic engineering and playing God is BAD, kids!" (as Ieldra wants to choke something:P)Jynthor wrote...
