She probably wasn't old enough to know what was going on. Miranda notes that Mr. Lawson grew Oriana when Miranda was just a teenager, and Oriana is 18 in ME2 (Turning 19). We don't know exactly how old Miranda was when she ran, so it's ambiguous.

Do we have an approximate age when Miranda left?

Oriana was just a baby. The only parents she remembers are her adoptive ones.

Escape from what? Oriana did not remember that she had a sister which leads to the conclusion that Miranda rescued her while she was too young to realize what was happening.
Therefore, unlike Miranda, Oriana did not grow up with an abusive father. Her nurturing was completely different resulting in a different personality.

I don't think so. Miranda's bio says she's 35 at the time of ME2, and I'm not sure if she ever says how long she's been with Cerberus. Oriana was likely just an infant at the time though.

14-15. Oriana was grown after she left and Oriana is 16 years younger.

My bet is betwen 16 and 18. And she rescued Oriana when she was like 3-5 months old.

Not necessarily. Genetically, she's supposed to be just like Miranda, but that doesn't mean she needs to look like a clone of Miranda. I'd prefer it if they kept the different look.

You do realize that a clone is genetically identical. Oriana is Miranda, except sixteen years younger. They should look alike as much as any set of identical twins.

Identical twins aren't artificially manufactured, either. There's nothing to say Mr. Lawson didn't just change their facial appearances while having Oriana retain Miranda's intelligence and ability.

That's bull****. If you're genetically identical, you will look similar - if you're both healthy - and all anyone can do to change things is cosmetic surgery. You can't "just change" such things.

Oriana was born after Miri. They are genetic twins, but born years apart. Oriana and Miri DO look alike in a sense:

Oriana looks like Miri, if Miri were to be 19. Miri most likely looked identical to Oriana when she was 19. So when Oriana is 35, she will look exactly like Miri.

Oriana is an example of what Miri looked like when she was 19. So they ae indeed, Identical Twins, just not born at the same time.

Calm the hell down. I said "could". This is the same universe where magic space rocks let you reduce or increase the mass of objects and people can wear latex that provides protection against gunfire. Said magic space rocks also allow FTL travel to occur, even though FTL travel is impossible via conventional means. Don't try to argue real life properties when it comes to video games and their respective universes.

Another Oriana related thing.
In the dossiers she asks Miranda how she gets a boy to notice her. I found this rather odd since she's supposed to be perfect in every single way, including looks. This leads me to assume she's the most beautiful girl in her class, hell, maybe even school. Then how could a boy NOT notice her?

*Berserk button hit*

Damn it, this "SF stories don't use real world science" is ABSOLUTE CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!! This is an SF story, the principles of science should work as in RL unless there's a really good reason to ignore them. And even then, I'd demand a damned explanation.

That we have a "magical FTL" is NO REASON AT ALL to ignore scientific principles in everything else, thrice damn it. I'm so f*ucking sick of this sh*t! As if you could do just anything on a whim!

So yes, I will continue to argue real world biology unless there's a good reason not to. And I expect to be taken seriously and not be brushed off with "this is space magic, anything goes."

No, in an SF story, anything does EXACTLY NOT go!

And? What do you want ME to do about it? If you have a problem with me, take it to PM, otherwise, leave me the hell alone. I don't need your crap.

It's called Science "Fiction" for a reason. Call Bioware and rage at them if it bothers you this much.

@AgitatedLemon:
All I can say it's called "science" fiction for a reason too. And my beef is especially with people like you who insist that anything goes on a whim with no attempt at an explanation. And if you keep this up, I will most definitely not stop arguing against it.

And that's enough about this for now. Back to Miranda.

Well, we know that what Miranda's father does is different from cloning: he messes with the chromosomes to add specific "desirable traits." So, it's like a combination of cloning and genetic engineering.

With that in mind, there's no reason in particular why Oriana would be genetically identical to Miranda. It might make more sense, in certain respects, if she were different, i.e. Mr. Lawson tried a slightly/somewhat different set of traits this time around.

Either could potentially make a certain amount of sense, depending on whether he wanted an exact genetic copy or not.

The problem: at one point, Miranda says that she and Oriana are genetically identical. So, apparently, he chose to do an exact genetic copy, at least that was the original idea.

Conceivably, you might decide, for story reasons, to retcon the whole thing and make Oriana genetically different from Miranda. Which could theoretically happen, in fact there is one bit of dialog in the leak that suggests this might be so (but it's unclear).

Or Miranda was subject to genetic manipulation as she grew up, chaning her appearance in comparison to Orianna who clearly wasn't altered anymore as she grew.
