What is "Anti Aliasing?"
Minimalizing the distortion effect known as aliasing when attempting to present something high-res at lower resolutions.
In laymans terms, smoothing out jagged textures. AA is one of the more demanding things when it comes to video games on PC's.
ME2 is a perfect example of a game with terrible AA. From a distance, it looks fine, as it should. Get the camera maybe 10 or so feet away from the subject, and it looks like a PS2 game.

Look at the merc's eyes. You can clearly make out the jagged edges of the eyes, when they're supposed to be circular. Proper AA would make them appear to be completely round. Granted, the screenshot isn't super high quality, but it fits. You can see jagged edges on the rest of his armor too, especially the shoulders, and on the walls behind the merc.

It's often associated with stupidity, or when someone does something incredibly obvious. Like "Duh".
The word itself comes from the 1998 movie BASEketball and became popular from South Park.

Are they aware that there are numerous reapers looking at them and closing in.AgitatedLemon wrote...
That's because all 3 of the ME games have terrible AA.

If anyone still cares about Portrait, would there be any interest in fanfic about adult Matt and Miranda? I've come up with a plot development (Miranda murdering her father in '70) that allows for a good end, but I want to field test the adult, darker versions of them. Especially since they are so very different from ME2.
I would like to read more about Miranda and Matt. Sorry for being late with my reply, but you know....timezones.

O.K. I'm now onboard and joining the Miranda clone army.
Didn't we always suspect Miranda had more clone sisters than Oriana?

Am I the only one who finds the Garrus romance extremely awkward
No, you're not the only one. I think it's very weird the way it's started with the whole entire 'Reach and Flexibilty' joke which implies that the romance is casual thing and then Garrus shows up in Shepard's quarters and he is all vulnerable and confessing his feelings. I get what Bioware were trying to do but I don't think it was executed right, there should have been more squad banter with Garrus in general since I feel that the whole romance could have benefitted with more dialogue scenes, more flirting ( for lack of a better word ) with Garrus earlier on in the game and it should have been more obvious that even though though the 'reach and flexibilty' joke is the catalyst for the romance that the two characters do have some deep feelings for one another and that they never really got around to telling each other how they felt.
Of course in the interest of fairness the Miranda romance is almost as bad as Garrus' ( even though I still think it is one of the better ones in ME2, the ME2 cast really did get the short end of the stick didn't they ). The build up is very good, more often than not all the right things are said ( although I am upset that Miranda tells Shepard that sh eis falling in lov ewith him he never says it back and instead makes a joke about trying to get into her pants ) but when it comes down the actual scene itself you could easily be forgiven for thinking that it was just a glorified one night stand, sex for the sake of having sex and blowing off steam. In a strange way Miranda's romance is the polar opposite of the Garrus romance.

Also on the topic of display pics I notice they took them off the forum main pages for the "last post by". Don't tell me that was causing the lag this past week. Anyone know details on that?
Otherwise I believe the last Miranda-related question was about physical attributes? Well the "assets" are clearly up there. But I would also say eyes and smile. Say what you will about her looks but Yvonne has a stunning smile. They screwed up the scanning but Miranda's smile is amazing as well and given her propensity for detached coldness (at least at first) a smile is a big deal for her. If she favors you with one (that isn't a "you'll be dead before you hit the ground" smirk), it really is like warm sunlight on a winter morning.

So? Who cares? Miranda seems to prefer to let her actions speak for themselves, anyway. Going to amazing lenghts to keep Oriana safe or going behind TIM's back to send Jacob the data about his father are her way of saying "You're important to me".Totally Not Swaggacide wrote...
So she only says it if she dies? BULL****!!
Just have a scene in ME3 where Miranda does something amazingly risky just for Shepard and you'll be able to hear my fanboy squeeing from across the globe.
