"I'll always want you in my life." Miranda Lawson in Mass Effect 3

Petrovsky: Commander Shepard, welcome to the Elberus.
Shepard: Thank you. I have to say she's an impressive ship general.
Petrovsky: Took her right out from under the Illusive Man's nose from its mooring at Minuteman Station.
Shepard: Who makes off with a ship this size without anyone noticing?
Miranda: (steps out of the elevator) I do.
a few moments later
Shepard: It looks like you've been busy.
Miranda: Very, we've been running interference against Cerberus. Hitting supply convoys, keeping other splinter cells out of harm's way, all while steering clear of Alliance forces. (notices Shepard's expression) And is there a particular reason you're smiling like an idiot?
Shepard: I missed seeing you like this.

Oh, yeah. Especially since there is an insane catch-22 specifically involving Miranda with the games endings (I won't discuss it here, too spoiler-y).
In my opinion, this is probably the time when Shepard needs a romance the most. I mean, I know that he/she knows that he/she's fighting for the galaxy and everyone in it, but having someone particularly close to you makes it far more personal, and more emotional, especially knowing everything Shepard has gone through. If nothing else, the knowledge that you're fighting for something close to you is a good kick in the ass to make you fight harder and smarter.
That said, I don't like it when people say "Welp, teh whole galaxy is in trouble, there's no time for bothering with romance now!", because 9/10 times they're missing the point.
History tells a different tale. Just take a look at the birth rate as WWII started to ramp up, and just after it ended.
It figures that the writers would make choices about Mirandas survival impact the odds of success at the end game. I don't even have to read a spoiler script to see the possibility of that happening...how ****g original...<_<

Just Genesis a ME1 playthrough with Shepard never romancing anyone, then go with Miranda. That's what I did.
I don't really have the time or the game anymore :/

Which is why I say to Genesis a play through. It costs like $4 to download, and it takes all of 2 minutes. It kicks in after the proglogue for ME2.

I must say, I do like the way you portray these two people together. It just works so well.

I'm agreeing with you. My original statement was an allusion to how adversity brings people together and strengthens bonds in extraordianry ways. In ways that win epic conflicts.
Knowing how you like a good argument, would you rather I didn't agree with you?

You nailed what I was trying to say, with my usual clipped verbosity, with what you said there. Make the conflict personal and it has the potential to impact things much, much bigger.

I'm not even sure I'd say "potentially". If you forged as strong a connection with someone like Shepard and Miranda have (Or indeed, any of the romances), and with as many people Shepard has, it gets very personal, very quickly. More so if you're paragon or paragade.

So ME3 romances turn into a love relationship? I wonder if Shepard and Miranda will fall more in love ( if that makes sense) and the romance is more deep ( if that makes sense as well)
It certainly seems that way from the lines that we have.
As with everything else Miranda-related in the leak, it just kind of... stops making sense at a certain point, basically when you get to her mission. But some of the romance lines that are there, early on, are the highlight of the leaked material, I think, definitely. Much more the type of thing I want to see, especially on Shep's side of the dialogue.
