I wouldn't say it's dying.

But it's certainly slowing down. We average around 3-4 pages per day, which isn't bad, considering the size of the thread. Once ME3 drops, it will explode.

You're working under the assumption that Miranda will do anything worth talking about in ME3 or that she will be around for more than 5 minutes. Lets be honest, there is a very real possibilty that we ( all of us Miranda fans )  will walk away from ME3 with very little to discuss. I supose we could always **** and complain but I'm growing tired moaning about how poorly Bioware are treating Miri, it's just falling on deaf ears and it's too late to do anything about now anyhow. It's a small miracle this page hit 1500 pages ( and has more posts than any other character ) when Bioware haven't reaveled any info on Miri for ME3.

precisely, the lack of information leaving us no issues to discuss :(

:D I love this scene. I always pick the paragon dialogue to boost Miri's self esteem.

It is something to dump her over. The Miranda of the leak isn't worth a second glance. I'll be retreating into fanfic and pretending that the Claire Eldfell I concocted for Portrait is the real deal. I'll be around here long enough to vent, and then I'm out.

Lemon already explained y the Jacob romance is NO good
I take back what I said about the Kaidan romance I dont know enough about it I just really hate him
Garrus is one of my favorite characters I just find his romance extremely awkward and comes out of nowhere, I just find it odd and out of place

Interestingly enough, I just ran into some dialogue I've never heard before in Mass Effect 2. (I was playing around with the mass effect save game editor so I didn't have to replay me1 again!  It's such a chore!)  The new dialogue was in regards to letting the human council die, and chosing udina... and Shepard finally got to tell Anderson that he's working for Cerberus because council? alliance? turned their backs on him!

That's what I've really started to notice about ME2, you can actually RP a Shepard who agrees with Cerberus' ideals without supporting TIM. ME3 actually has the option to have Shepard who isn't happy to be back with the Alliance.

On that note This article brings up some interesting points about Cerberus, and how Mass Effect fits into science-fiction as a whole.

Just wait until we see her in the game. I'm just as paranoid as you, but I keep up hope while stockpiling verbal explosives, just in case.

Interesting read. I definitely like Mass Effect more than any other Sci-Fi of this generation, even if it has its own glaring flaws.

Dun, dun, dun! Pre ordered, if all else fails, there's always Ashley. Sure she's not voiced by Yvonne Strahovski, but if Vega is able to be a proper "brah" and fill the role of Kaidan for a while, I can always romance her.

Very interesting. I don't agree with everything in there, but a few striking points are brought up contrasting the ME universe with other SF universese like Star Trek. I think the ME universe comes out very favorably in comparison. We might be too close to it as fans to see that clearly, so this article should be required reading.

Here's the paragraph that mentions Miranda:

Third, by undermining the player’s sense of pride in being human, Mass Effect also opens doors to what would likely be highly controversial discussions were humanity “in charge.” In fact, Star Trek provides the ideal contrast on the issues of genetic engineering, cyborgs, and artificial life are all addressed as ultimately threatening to humanity.
In Star Trek (TOS, TNG, & DS9), those who are genetically engineered are seen as myopic elitists and supremacists, convinced of their own vaunted status, not wishing to allow their world to be “tainted” by those who are impure. In Mass Effect, Miranda and Grunt are rich and rounded characters who are genuinely superior in some aspects due to their modifications, but also reflect the increased self-awareness and contemplativeness we would hope to see in a superior being.

This may be phrased a little too strongly, but we can indeed see that in Miranda and even Grunt if you listen carefully to what he's saying - I think this will be touched upon more in ME3.

Has this article been debated in the General Discussion Forum yet?

I don't agree with the io9 bit on genetics. Julian Bashir alone is easily on-par with Miranda and Grunt in such contexts.

No it hasn't. Although it does offer an interesting perspective on Mass Effect as a whole. Sometimes it seems like the adage "familiarity breeds contempt" holds true, we point out holes in the plot, debate endlessly over matters of dialogue and characterization and take issue with Bioware's decisions. Looking at ME as a whole its a really impressive universe they've created.

On the subject of Julian Bashir, he's one of the few characters that really reminds me of Miranda. Bashir was genetically modified by his parents because they saw his developmental issues as defects and used the technology to turn him into their "ideal" son. There's also parallels between Section 31 wanting to recruit Julian because of his abilities and Miranda's work with Cerberus.

That was a very interesting article. And, like Ieldra, I can find some some things I disagree with. But I found that the author nailed down very well many of the things I find so attractive about the Mass Effect universe, probably the biggest one for me being how I can create and make the character I play fit into it in such a personal way.

Do you think there's room for Miranda's father to seek some degree of repentance for how he raised his daughter?

From her Cerberus stand point, Renegade.
Maybe Miri perfers Paragon more because with his leadership (War Hero) he inspires people to fight for him more that if he was a Renegade.

I say paragon shepard, because she is used to people wanting something in return for what they do or in return for being friends with her. Whereas the paragon shepard does not ask of anything in return just trust.

Do you mean the Paragon or Renegade romance or just Shepard in general, If the latter is the case, I guess Renegade since he doesn't keep ****ing about cerberus whenever he has the chance.

This. But, Miranda definitely sees the adantages to some of the renegade choices, so paragade works the best, but not, obviously,  with the game as a whole. This points out a major flaw in the paragon/renegade scheme as played out in the game in my opinion.
