Do you think Miranda prefers Renegade or Paragon Shepard?

I say paragon shepard, because she is used to people wanting something in return for what they do or in return for being friends with her. Whereas the paragon shepard does not ask of anything in return just trust.

This. But, Miranda definitely sees the adantages to some of the renegade choices, so paragade works the best, but not, obviously,  with the game as a whole. This points out a major flaw in the paragon/renegade scheme as played out in the game in my opinion.

you are right most of the time life is no black and white its mostly shades of grey. Which mortality systems cannot really do because its one extreme or the other. thats saying if they did do that we would say that there is not enough consequences for our decisions.

Do you think there's room for Miranda's father to seek some degree of repentance for how he raised his daughter?

I think it wouldn't be too hard to get some of the fans to forgive him. Jtav has actually brushed the issue on many of her stories. Adversity breeds strength and all of that.
Miranda herself would probrably never be able to forgive him, though. It's easy for us to sit confortably on our chairs and defend him by saying that his treatment of her is one the reasons Miranda is so amazing but she is the one who actually lived those horrors.

Both extremes are unsuited for her. A Paragade or Renegon Shepard would be better.

That's a cop out. It has to be either or. Of course the best of both sides would be the best

I sort of lean towards Paragade. Overall, Shepard's a good man who can sometimes get further with a kind word and a gun than he can with just a kind word.

I like TomY90 explianation, Though I poersonally think She herself is slightly Renegade if the laws of mass effect universe apply to everyone. But I doubt she really perfers Renegade Shep over Paragon Shep I think she perfers Paragade Shep duh he's not so good but not so evil Image IPB.

I'm going to be a smart aleck and say "which ever one your Shepard happens to be."

If the best of both sides would be best, then we simply get the best of both sides. I fail to see why we should be limiting ourselves to 100% Paragon/Renegade.

I'm not making you do anything Im just saying as an either or scenario. Of course Paragade is the best there is no point to the discussion if that was an option

That's not fun. If the ME Romance system was smarter, Paragon/Renegade scores would affect it.
They took a step in the right direction with DA:Origins. Certains actions would make you less popular with certain companions thus, they would be less open for romance.
Of course, nothing a few gifts couldn't solve. That's why Goody Two Shoes Wardens could still romance Morrigan.

I find it reductive to think in terms of P/R. Better to ask about personality. Matt is Paragon, but he believes in her ideals of human advancement and isn't given to knee-jerk moral judgments.

Exactly, who the hell is one or the other in RL? Unfortunately, the game wants to reward one or the other...

How much cooler would it be if in that CGI trailer that was released last night had Miranda instead of Ashley walking with Shepard into battle
(nothing against Ash, she is one of my favorites)

It wouldn't make much sense since she's in the game for about twenty minutes.

I tend to ship Miranda with characters more on the Paragon side. Take that as well. I think Miranda is above all attracted to intelligence, drive, and competence.

You haven't played the full game so you don't know everything you can't just read an incomplete script and act you know the full extent of the game

So we're to expect that there's a as good a chance of Miranda being on the squad or having as much content as Ashley in ME3?

I agree with android, why would they have someone who isn't permanent? It's like if Grunt was in there, it would seem awkward because you would only be able to experience him through a little section, compared to Ashley being with you throughout the whole game - plus it's more suited towards new people to the series.

I agree, please if there is nothing to add, then please don't bump the thread with irrelevant stuff (even though this is sort of ironic post). The thread won't die if it goes quiet for a few days/weeks, it's just that all the topics that can be brought up, have been over and over. It's fine to have new faces, but please, you can look through at least 20-30 pages back and see if you're topic is in there, if not, then I guess it's okay to bring up something as long as it doesn't drag on and on (it's always good to have new perspectives).

Again, there is nothing wrong with the thread going quiet.

Playing through ME2 and more specifically Miranda's romance one of several things I noticed and enjoyed was as
follows:

During her loyalty misson after you get out of that taxi cab and begin speaking to the man with the tech armor at some point  near the end of the convo you have a renegade option. This particular one being from what i  can recall the only renegade option I perform (on a paragon shep. Funny how it happens to be during miri's mission that damn miranda, i'll tell ya.) what I noticed was the subtle look shep and miri share before they make their move. It seem;s like shep and miri are able to just share a  subtle facial expression or motion of the body and with just that alone their on the same page ready to execute the plan while the enemy is none the wiser. It reminded me of, if anyone has read any eu star wars books leia and han (one of the best sci-fi couples imo) are able to do the same thing. No matter how little screen time Miranda gets in ME3 if Bioware incorporates this into what is there, Im sold.

I'd like to see Tali share a successful subtle facial exprssion with Shepard. HA!

(for the record I actually like tali; tho she's not Shepard romance material imo (little sister anyone?). Im a rare breed of people who enjoy All the ME charaters flaws and all)

Good stuff, and a good point. I also like Tali alot, but I think if your the type to really get miranda, tali would come across as a downgrade. I mean that in the nicest way possible. Basically tali would be to shepard, what I feel, Jacob was to miranda.

True, our thread (Jack's thread) goes quiet all the time, but I think it's the one that has the best character analysis and content of all the character threads.
