But you're fine with everyone else bullying Luis out of the thread?

God forbid someone try and stop the idiotic fighting.

>_>

What did I say earlier you guys need to stop fighting each other. Nothing good will come out of it.

What did he do?

He posted major spoilers to the end of Mass Effect 3, without spoiler tags (which even with tags I would still vehemently resent the post itself for the essence of what it was). And one of my friends called him out on it and MEFan responded by calling him a douche. So, I and some of the others have a right to be pissed. I was lucky he deleted the spoiler post before I saw it. However, I am not going to bash the guy too hard.

MEFan you were reported for what you did wrong, and I shouldn't have to tell you what you did, even though I just told Swagg. You damn well know. And if you get banned, it likely won't be forever, and if it is you can easily make a new account.

Man up and own your mistakes and ffs LEARN from them. From what the others say you never learn. Well, now is as good a time as any, if you wish to actually start learning. If I were you, I would stay off BSN for a few days and cool off. For your own good, not mine or anyone elses.

And guys stop the in-fighting. What MEFan did was inexcusable, but we need not fight amongst each other about what kind of punishments are appropriate. We are all adults here, at least I think so. Drop it. Going on about it will get us in trouble that ain't worth it.

And as a reminder, any spoilers regarding ME3, Miranda related or not, and discussion on such related spoilers, should be delegated to PM's or the group that Ieldra and jtav were kind enough to make for that purpose.

Edit: And let me make it clear that while what MEFan did was wrong, bashing and/or bullying him about it gets us nowhere, will only serve to get us in trouble, and really makes us no better than him on his bad days. Keep it moving please.

@AgitatedLemon: Impressive. I gave up after about a week. The constant whining about Miranda...It just became too much. But knowing you're a fan yourself, I suppose it automatically doesn't bother you so much. Well, rather you than me, I'd say.

Damn, that discussinon changed the page and made the post where I can get 1000 internet points got swamped and ignored...
Oh well. Can I at least get a cookie for supporting the ceasation of cyberbashing and getting back to admiring Miranda's dynamic character?

Returning to my previous point, over the time working with Shepard on the Collector mission, one of the important changes that Miranda goes through is a realisation that she's not really as good as she thought she was. Of course, at that point Shepard can either walk out and leave her to develop an inferiority complex, or back her up with some chatting.

This is why they need to just allow spoilers in this board. It still doesn't have a designation as to whether or not you're allowed, unlike every other one.

Even if what he did was wrong, so was lighting the torches and preparing the pitchforks. Christ sake, it's just a spoiler. You're going to find ALL of this information out in a few weeks anyway. Nothing to want to hang the guy for.

You're still alive and healthy and your family is still alive.

Oh stop being so silly. What's the problem with people dying at age 18, if they're going to die eventually anyway?

I want to experience the stuff myself, not to read it all on someone's meltdown post. There would be no place to discuss characters, if spoilers were allowed here.

Probably missed in all the earlier dram, but looking at the script it's probable Miranda is alive and unloyal, and therefore always dies.

The presence of romance dialogue, including what appears to be the very last conversation which would logically happen after her mission, contradicts this theory.

This isn't just about him doing stupid things like posting spoilers, but about his behaviour in general. I mean, his adoration of Miranda is just borderline creepy. Anyway, I'll stop here, because I'm causing the whole topic to go off-topic. I guess I let myself go there for a moment. But it had to be said. Anyway, have a good day/evening everyone. *leaves*

That's not entirely true, AgitatedLemon. I reckon there's plenty of people who will wait for about a month or two after the game is released - it's unfortunately not released at a time when playing a computer game is a good idea. You understand.

Besides, allowing spoilers on the board would mean that visitors would have to close their eyes every second post. That is simply not practical.

@Arcadian Legend someone posted "fills me with the urge to deficate" earlier and I called it out as a reference to a Pink Floyd hit from the album "The Wall". I was promised internet points.

Actuallly, what she notices is that Shepard is an inspired leader and she is not. Nothing more. There is no inferiority complex, just her being uncomfortable with her genetic engineering, as if somehow her skills don't belong to her because of it.

Recall this:

Shepard: Wait a minute. Are you... jealous?
Miranda: Don't be absurd.
Shepard: The genetic mutt that the Illusive Man put in charge. Man, that must sting.
Miranda: First, it's not a competition. Second, based on your combat records, you're practically a perfect bloody human specimen.
Shepard: Perfect human specimen, huh?
Miranda: Don't get cocky. I'm the one who put you back together remember? And I do damn good work.
Shepard: You certainly do.
(Shepard kisses Miranda)

You do realize you're the one coming to the forums in the first place and you should be aware of spoilers - the thread does have the indication of ***SPOILERS*** for a reason. Yes, what MEFAN did was wrong, but when it comes down to it, you're still coming here on your own will; if you really wanted to avoid spoilers at all cost, wouldn't that mean abandoning a thread that may consist of spoilers?

Also, I've been here for a while and I understand the whole situation with the MEFAN, but being an ass won't help either.

Who the hell waits a month or two after the game is released to brush up on the story? Apart from someone who is new to the franchise.

Besides, allowing spoilers on the board would mean that visitors would have to close their eyes every second post. That is simply not practical.

So? Even in the GF board, which is explicitly stated "no spoilers", people still spoil the game. Hell, the gameplay board condones spoilers. Allowing spoilers in the CR board would finally allow for some fresh talk, instead of regurgitating the same crap we've been on for months about.

If they don't want spoilers, then they shouldn't go into a thread that has ********SPOILERS********** in the title.

Hell again, Prothy, who himself is a spoiler, has his own thread. As does EDI.

What she meant is that it's possible that Miranda always dies in a default non-import game. The presence of a romance dialogue doesn't count, because she's not available for a romance in a non-import game.

@all:
Can we PLEASE stop this off-topic discussion! It doesn't belong here. For the record, I agree with redBadger14, but wouldn't be quite as strict with minor spoilers.

Yeah, I'll learn what happens in less than two weeks time, so will everyone else. Thing is, that is when I want to learn about them, not before and certainly not in a rediculous meltdown post. I certainly don't want to "hang him" for what he's done, but I won't stand by and act like I'm not pissed off at the situation. How can I not be?

And yes myself and my family are alive. Yeah this isn't such a huge deal, I understand that. We all have a breaking point though. And I would like to stay in this thread and discuss civilly, and not have such a nuisance plague the thread on a 24 hour, 7 day a week schedule.

I've been around here for a while, so has Melrache, jtav, and Ieldra and Prudii, etc. Since the very beginning of the Miranda support thread actually when it was 3 or 4 threads ago lol. I won't stand for nonsense in the thread like the kind MEFan has been injecting for however long it's been. It only serves to demonize the thread.

Edit: Now that I recall, any spoilers regarding the ME3 script leak, in any open discussion thread, is subject to a user ban, according to Evil Chris and the mods when the script did leak. Only times posting them is acceptable is when the text is hidden, through PM's, or through special groups designed for discussion on the topic of spoilers.

Like I said, that's chatting with her to bring her back up. If you know how human psychology works, you'll know: -

1. I realise I'm not such a good leader.
2. I realise my biotics aren't as good as Jack's, which is why Shepard is hanging around with her. Bloody Mordin told him about "creative use of biotic fields" (new ability unlocked - Biotic Thrust).
3. I realise my tech isn't as good as Tali's.
4. I realise I can't handle an Assault Rifle like Ashley Williams.
5. I realise that despite my genetic skills I don't look good (now beginns the depressing part, where Miranda's self-schema becomes unrealistic).
6. I realise I'm too mean and so no-one likes me (also not true).
7. I get depressed.

Yeah. That's the realistic conclusion from just leaving her hanging at that point, of course you don't get to see it if you never talk with her again. As Samara says, "she carries many burdens, but does not share them".

@Lemon
Woah, woah, woah. Like I said, it's really not a good time to play games in March for some people. Work. Study. Exams. I shouldn't have to explain this, it just makes for awkward conversation. But yeah, 1 to 2 months, give or take.

If you look at the original post by jtav, ME2 spoilers are fair game. ME3 spoilers however are not to be posted anywhere in here without being hidden, and instead relegated to the group she and Ieldra made for such a purpose.

Thanks Badger, we understand. This is turning into an argument for the sake of argument, if you don't mind me saying.
Please don't respond to this post with a quote and a counterargument, that's unnecessary bandwith usage. If you disagree, feel free to ignore and continue the argument.

WTF?

I don't know where you're coming from, but Miranda never claimed she's better than everyone in everything. That's just ridiculous. All she says is she's very good at everything she puts her mind to. And well, she is. That she's not as good at biotics as a 800-year-old asari justicar shouldn't bother her. And how the hell do you come to the conclusion she things she doesn't look good? And that people don't like her has never bothered her, it would bother her if it was Oriana I guess, but that never happens.
