No, it doesn't. You missed the point, which was I only just recently returned here, and the thread is a shadow of what it used to be, which was a great place to discuss about Miranda as well as have casual discussion. Why has it changed to such a degree? It was great when the thread was the way it was back when it first started. Sure, the discussion was more fresh since ME2 had just released, but all the same there wasn't the drama we have now.AgitatedLemon wrote...

I've been around here for a while, so has Melrache, jtav, and Ieldra and Prudii, etc. Since the very beginning of the Miranda support thread actually when it was 3 or 4 threads ago lol. I won't stand for nonsense in the thread like the kind MEFan has been injecting for however long it's been. It only serves to demonize the thread.
Good for you.
What does this have to do with anything? Does it automatically make you better than anyone else?
To be quite honest, the thread is being torn apart by *one* person and one person only. This thread is great on its good days, but then when MEFan goes overboard about *something*, the thread goes to sh*t, people bash him, he bashes others, and we all argue and bash each other.
Its disgraceful, really.
Edit: With that in mind, we should all drop it now. Return to discussing Miranda please. I should probably cool off anyway, might play some ME2 or DA2 to do just that. Just remember that such sh*t shouldn't happen here, and there's only one person that ever causes it, all the time. Stop the problem at its source. Anyway, cooling off time. I hate being like this.
Edit 2: And thank you for the support Ieldra. And yeah I probably wouldn't be so strict on minor spoilers either, despite my previous tone.
Okay, I am o.u.t.

@Reactions to my previous post
I have the distinct impression I was extremely missunderstood on several levels.
Let me go over it again.
The moment of time discussed, which is a Male-shepard - Miranda Lawson conversation right after the conversation that concludes Mirandas loyalty mission, is a moment of Miranda's emotional openness.
Miranda: I don't have that fire you have that makes people follow me through hell. Despite all my genetic modification... you're the best humanity has to offer.
Shepard: (Insert either LI -directed option here)
Miranda: (Response - followed by LI route)
HOWEVER, consider an alternative option that I'm sure several Miranda haters would've preffered.
Shepard: Thanks for telling me that Miranda. When I get a fire team, I'll let Garrus lead the fire team.
Miranda: Oh. Well. Understood Commander.
Shepard: I have to go.
Doesn't that sound even remotely heartbreaking? Don't you expect even Miranda to crack under that kind of emotional bash? Wouldn't the negative emotions lead to further negative cognitions that would lead to depression? The tougher they are, the harder they break.

1. I realise I'm not such a good leader.
She is a good leader. She only says that she lacks the fire of Shepard to follow him to hell itself. If she is working with people dedicated to her same cause she can be a very good leader, but she cant' be a leader of some uknown and not related people.
2. I realise my biotics aren't as good as Jack's, which is why Shepard is hanging around with her. Bloody Mordin told him about "creative use of biotic fields" (new ability unlocked - Biotic Thrust).
Her biotic are advance for a human, considerating she might not be a natural biotic. And jack is a special case (and you forgot that Jack might suffer neural decay due for her biotics). And any biotic can enjoy the biotic sex.
Tali's leadership is null if you compare it to Miranda's. Miranda isn't a tech expert, but she has enough tech skills to survive a fight.3. I realise my tech isn't as good as Tali's.
4. I realise I can't handle an Assault Rifle like Ashley Williams
She can handle pistols very well. And in her kind of operations I don't think an assault rifle is very useful.
5. I realise that despite my genetic skills I don't look good (now beginns the depressing part, where Miranda's self-schema becomes unrealistic).
Really? I think we didn't play the same game.
6. I realise I'm too mean and so no-one likes me (also not true).
She have success on what she's doing. You don't need to like someone to be able to work with him. She is a professional.
7. I get depressed.
She's human.
If you wanna criticize her character at least try to know her better. (and don't compare her with another character just to say she isn't the best in one thing, because she is better in many other thing with the characters you compared her).

I know that my colonist Shepard is going to just smirk at it, seeing it as a tactical advantage to kill the Reapers while they bother around with the large homeworld while the colonies remain relatively safe.
My earthborn Femshep is going to rage with searing vengeance.
Edit: @Above yet again, distinct missunderstanding. I don't understand why people look for Miranda haters where ther are none. It's like you guys want to find targets to shoot at.

I've always taken this as Miranda admitting that Shepard is better than her at something, as much as she doesn't want to. Even though she's "perfect", Shepard is still the better leader.

Does anyone know where Miranda is from? I forgot, was "the businessman" on Earth? It'd be interesting to know how Miranda would feel about the homeworld being harvested by Reapers.

Miri is Earth Born. She was Obviously born in Australia, quite possibly Sydney.

Miranda is canonically from Earth. I think we can safely assume she's Australian, since Strahovski could use her native accent. They changed her surname so it sounds more like she's from an English-speaking country.Rasofe wrote...

The misunderstanding was because you sounded like of the haters who wanted to put Miranda down. I agree that to leave her hanging at her moment of emotional openness would not be a friendly act. She'd get over it though. Also there is no option like the one you quoted. Shepard's line when he's walking away at that point is rather supportive actually:Edit: @Above yet again, distinct missunderstanding. If there was a bit of banter between Miranda and one of the (new) ME3 squadmates, who would she be talking to, and what do you think she'd say? I'm curious what she'd say to Javik.
Miranda: Dr T'Soni, always a pleasure.
Liara: Ah. Miss Lawson. How is Oriana?
Miranda: She's doing her studies. There's a boy she has a crush on... I tried to give her some advice, but she caught me reading it out of a cheap book on relationships.
Liara: You should consider letting her go her own way. She is nearly you, after all. And look how well you did.
Miranda: That is true... *looks at Shepard*
(In the background)
Shepard: Hey, Garrus! Can you fix this gun for me? It's jammed!
Garrus: Shepard, I'm in the middle of some calibrations!
Tali: *laughs* He's always in his calibrations.
Miranda: ... I suppose you're right.
Liara: By the way, did you know the Illusive Man went out on two dates with an Asari Matriarch?
Miranda: *reminiscing just before the Suicide Mission*... yeah... What?
Earthborn, huh? Well, all right, thanks for telling me.
Not all my Shepards are Paragon. Like I said, my Soldier will willingly sacrifice Earth to save Mindoir.

Sheploo.
Every time I make a custom face...
It looks fine in the CC, but when the game starts, it looks like he has downs.

Miranda is not Yvonne. Unless someone in the game actually comments on Miranda having an australian accent, it is non-canon and thus, we can not say where she was born.MASSEFFECTfanforlife101 wrote...

They changed her surname so as to fit Yvonne's accent better. It was originally "Solheim" (Scandinavian for "Sun home").

Whats a sheploo?
Default male Shepard. The -Loo comes from Shepard's resemblance to the person they modeled his face after, Dutch model and actor Mark Vanderloo.

This, considering how much Earth may have changed in that time. The accents may not be dominant in the same regions as they're now.

Hmmm. I wouldn't be surprise if she was born on a colony or a Spacer as well.
