If that's the case, then...

Why?

I don't think Miranda "betrayed" Shepard at all. What's in the past is in the past. Everything I posted earlier were things that it could be taken as. Honestly, I could care a little less if Miranda isn't the archetypical "innocent virgin" love interest. I do, however, think that they failed monumentally at portraying her sexuality though. Dating sites aren't exactly the most dignified way to express it.

*If* you wanted to look at it a certain way, that dossier could be a dirty, underhanded way of Bioware trying to make you dump Miranda for another romance.

"She's infertile? Damn, she isn't worth my time then."
"She sleeps around with a lot of men? I don't want a sl*t for a girlfriend."
"She can't even talk to her own sister without embarrassing herself? Is she socially retarded?"

I said it already yesterday, but that dossier is just insulting. It's insulting to Miranda, and it's insulting to *my* intelligence, having read the damn thing.

If you wanted to look at it that way, chances are you already dislike Miranda and the dossier could say she ****s gold and diamonds and it wouldn't change your mind.

I think you're all overreacting.

I agree. If anything the iPartners thing shows that Miranda is a woman with needs and she's satisfying them in a safe manner. At least thats how I take it. Image IPB

I have actually spoken to someone who dumped Miranda for precisely the 3 reasons I posted earlier.

I never thought someone like that existed.

On a side note, I'm not quite so sure why is it important that Shepard's LI must be able to bear him children. Shepard's story ends at Mass Effect 3 and we won't be playing as (or meeting) his descendents in future Mass Effect titles. An in game pregnancy reveal would also be both completely ridiculous and cheesy.

I find it important that she can have children, no matter with whom, because I want her to pass on her gifts. The infertility - possibly even caused by a genetic factor - can be interpreted as telling you that genetic engineering on MIranda's level is bad and nothing good can come of it. That sends me up the wall. It has nothing to do with Miranda as a person, but with Miranda as a symbol.

I'd never dump her for that reason. On a personal level, the infertility doesn't matter at all. But I'll use verbal pitchforks on whoever at Bioware was responsible for that nonetheless.

She dies of several infections because Shepard was selfish enough to have sex with her.

I don't see why you would dump Miri, I romance other character as well but I make new Shepards to do so.

Would you date a woman who couldn't carry children, slept around with a lot of guys, and gave you the impression of being socially retarded?

I wouldn't either. That's why I consider the dossier to either be a poor attempt at some underhanded humor, or it was written by someone who hated Miranda.

If it weren't for her in-game presentation (Prior to LotSB), I would haven't ever gone anywhere near MIranda. That dossier's very existence is a sin against nature.

I would, I'm socially retarded as well. :wizard:

I would too. Though admittedly I wouldn't be happy with the sleeping around bit. The fact she's infertile? So what? There's this thing called "adoption." Also, since it's 2186, infertility should be able to be cured (as has been mentioned countless times). Or she can come to terms with how she was created and we could "create" a child using both our DNA's.

Wouldn't surprise me, Talimancers seem to get whatever they want by "asking" BioWare.

The only thing I've known them to "ask" for is Tali's ME3 squad status (I won't even start on how inanely stupid that is).

Granted, I haven't been here long.

Pretty much, since it's the fans (Rather, the idiotic ones) that petitioned for Tali to bypass the "They can die" barrier.

I don't have any problem with Miranda using a dating site to look for potential romantic partners/lovers since in my point of view dating must present unique pricament for Miranda. Like any normal 'single' adult she obviously has needs but the list of people that she knows and trusts is probably very, very small and I imagine she would be very reluctant to sleep with those people in the fear that sex could damage that relationship. I don't see her having random hook ups with other Cerebus members ( and especially those who were on her team in the Lazarus Cell, she is after all thier boss and I don't think she would go there ). We know she had a previous relationship with Jacob and while we don't know how far tthat went it definetly seems to be in her past. How else would she take care of her needs. It is also very clear thatshe is very, very choosey so it's not like she was sleeping with every Tom, Dick and Harry, she is very selective and has very high standards. When you think of of it logically how else would someone like Miranda go about having a little fling or try to find some romance

What I do not like about is that it isn't obvious that the whole entire Ipartner thing happened in the past ( so alot of people can be mistaken for thinking that she is pursuing these hook ups while Shepard is pursuing her ). The whole entire thing also seems very un-neessary, I mean do we really learn anything about Miranda from the whole entire Ipartner thing. The SB dossiers are all fun little easter eggs for all of the characters for all of the ME2 characters and it feels like they seem to get that extra bit of character development, well everyone except Miranda, her entry seemed more like a blatant attemp at character assassination or making a joke at the characters expense.

Which is my whole point.

I just worded my posts in a more over-the-top fashion.
