Because the torture and murder aren't for selfish reasons. This is. No "greater good." She just wants a kid.

Debatable. We're assuming she wants a kid. We don't know why and it's difficult to speculate on that. But she thinks she's working for the greater good by working for Cerberus right? So if she's contributing to the greater good yet she has all these personal problems, how much more could someone do with her advantages, her intelligence but carrying none of her psychological scarring?

What if she's doing this to be the mother of the next TIM, not to brag that she's the mother of the future but to ensure the greater good has a greater champion then herself? Not exactly selfish is it?

On the other hand no human action is truly selfless anyway so this presents no issue for me. Besides as far as I'm concerned, if I accept an action for a character I accept it across the board as long as the reasoning is solid and the goal is clear.

On the subject of the dossier, I'm fine with the idea that Miranda has had casual relationships in the past.

What confuses me is that the whole dating service/medical exam connection seems to be more of a brute force solution to the issue than I'd expect from her. The medical records state that they can't tell if the issue is being caused by her modifications or environmental sources, dating a bunch of men in an attempt to see if you can beat the statistical odds doesn't really seem like a good approach from a scientific standpoint.

@Jtav

I really get the feeling that Miranda is a lot more like her father than she's willing to admit.

Been lurking on this thread a while now, thought I'd just run past and throw in my support for Miri even if the devs seem to be eyeing up a Miranda shaped airlock, I hope shes back in style for ME3 :police:

Small, Miranda'ish related question, as far as I'm aware Oriana has a speaking role in ME3, I don't suppose we know if she and Miranda have the same OV since their twins??

I always interpreted the doctor's note as happening after the dating logs. So she tries a bunch of guys on there with perfect records and gets nothing so she finally checks herself out. This would have to be fairly close to the start of Lazarus then because like it's been said countless times this should be ridiculously easy to fix. But maybe she didn't have time to attend to it.

thanks for the support chaia, we hope she is back with style like she deserves.

but it is extremely likely they have the same OV. but there could be external reasons to it than her DNA.

I think Miranda was created to be unable to have children so that she could just focus on being the heir to her fathers legacy (i.e. not distracted with bringing up children etc). Which it would also force Miranda to stick close to her father to be able to have a child with a similar technique she was birthed.

I do hope they do go even further with Miranda's character development i.e. talking about in the future children and see what she says etc

That's what it seems like to me. :?  Thus, why she hates her father or doesn't take credit for the things because of him.  /shrug

I'm sure this has been answered in the game, but does anyone know how long Miranda can live for with genetic modifications ? I think she said "twice as long as you" but I could be wrong and I'm pretty curious

Since Miri took her as a baby and gave her to parents who very likely weren't in Australia, she probably has a different accent at the very least.

not 2x as long it's about 1 and a half. So if most humans live until 100 at the time Miranda will live until about 150.

Actually most humans can live to about 150 in Mass Effect.

1.5 times as long. "We're lucky if we hit 150." So somewhere between 200-225.

Most likely unintentional but I believe this artist managed to create an plausible interpreation of what an aged Miranda might look like.

Two, girl twins, and they'd look just like Miranda, I'd be so proud.

0.

Bioware didn't want any childs for Miranda. The only way Shep can have kids is with Ash or Liara.

Funny, Miranda can give back life, somthing impossible before 2183. But she can't create a new one like every organic life.

I'm still banking off the theory that that can be cured in mass effects setting , who'd save the galaxy without the little shepards?
