Cerberus looks great on paper and would be an awesome human initiative if it hadn't been corrupted from the beginning. Otherwise I agree with their ideals of human advancement and preservation. Some one needs to guard humanity and the Charon relay from the rest of the galaxy. They're in a position to do it. My canon Shep (Earthborn, Survivor) was a Cerberus fanboy since ME1, until the Derelict Collector Ship happened. After that everything went down hill.
The Alliance serves it's purpose as humanity's galactic face. If humans are to advance diplomacy is required. The Alliance is great for politics but not much else. They have enough backbone to not let the rest of the council races subjugate it and enough sense to cut a deal when appropriate. Otherwise it's fear of crossing boundaries limits it's potential. They're a great for defense of "official" human colonies. My alt canon Shep (Spacer, Survivor) is an Alliance loyalist and despised working for Cerberus from day one.
TL;DR: I like what Cerberus stands for but not how they are run. The Alliance is good a playing good guy and that's important but I don't trust them to get things done. I don't hate either. I guess I like both.

ha! plenty of people did like DA2 more, though maybe i should have qualified: traditional follow-on sequels (not almost re-imaginings).

A plenty more liked it less.
I luv to state things without proof, as well.

The only correlation I've noticed is that Miranda fans don't tend to like Jack or Tali and vice versa.
Well, it's understandable though... the former keeps calling Miranda a b!tch whenever she sees her, and if you don't NOT like Tali outright the fanbase will take care of that.
That said I like Jack, just not enough to be called a fan.
P.S: BSN, your profanity filter sucks.

trouble is the only way to prove that will be to see the sales of DA3, which we can't, obviously. but you can look at the increasing successes of popular series as a decent indicator of my statement, although it's not a direct correlation of sales/enjoyment, i admit.
p.s. i cannot believe you like garrus in ME1 more - if he hadn't been alien and interesting on that alone, he would have been almost as dull as kaiden - by ME2 he had a story, he had conflict, he had guilt, he had lived - how is that not better - not just from a character stanpoint, but from a storytelling one, too? and Liara in LoSB was markedly different from ME1, in mostly a good way - mature, stronger, again with history, guilt and conflict (because they transposed the hero-worshipping onto Tali).

I just found Garrus boring in ME2, it's my opinion. That's how -I- feel you can try to get your head around it, but opinions are like that. He was interesting and big part of my crew in ME1, I found him really interesting back then. With ME2 not so much, he wasn't really the Garrus I had grown to like.
But i still am a great fan of Garrus tho

FYI: It is confirmed that Miranda will be in ME3. The debate is about screen presence and plot importance she will have.JStreet7 wrote...
Why is there even a discussion? Miranda NEEDS to be in Mass Effect 3 or somebody may just get in the normandy and not save earth....is that what you want casey hudson?? I think not, so put Miranda in Mass Effect 3 as a squadmate.
Of course she should have more screen presence than any other character
Edit:
On the subject of Garrus and Liara - I agree with Jebel that they are both more interesting in ME2. I still dislike the turian, though. The only reason I don't always kill him in my games is that a team member I don't like is still more interesting than none at all.

ME1 is much stronger in the area of romances. The romances are longer, better developed, even sexier. I can't see leaving Ash for Miranda as anything but a downward trade in terns if romance writing.

I think there both good in everyway!! But i must addmit i hope Miranda's romance in ME3 is more like Liara's in ME2 if you romanced her in ME1 ..i thought the romance in Liar of the shadow broker was very touchingJebel Krong wrote...

Liara/ashley's romance in ME1 is nowhere near comparable to Miranda/Thane's romance in ME2, for example.

That depends. It you count the actual romance scenes, the ME1 scenes blow the ME2 scenes out into space. ME2 has the advantage in that there's more dialogue in the predecing conversations. I agree that Liara's ME1 romance was completely unconvincing, but I found Ashley's pretty good for what there was. Miranda's romance is nice but it has the problem that her LM and the romance take up so much space that they compromise her Cerberus Operative identity. Thane's....hmm...can't comment on that. Not really my cup of tea.Jebel Krong wrote...

You're right, I'd prefer if she was born like any other children:P
Joking aside, I really don't see the reason to post in a thread about a character that you don't like. If I don't like that squadmate (which I don't, I somehow like all the ME1-ME2 companions), why do you post in his/her appreciation thread?

Stop feeding a lowly troll, he's not worth the time. Especially, when he just tries to look coolish, while he's just nothing compared to my awesomeness or Miri's.

Is anyone else hoping her face gets a few touch ups. With Miranda, more than any other LI, it seems to be all about the angles. From some of them she looks gorgeous but from others there's just something a little off. I certainly don't think they did Yvonne Strahovski justice. Thoughts?
