I'm pro-Cerberus, or rather pro-ME2 Cerberus. The Alliance and Council are too stagnant and hidebound. I will pay almost any price to see them fall.
I support what Cerberus were trying to do in ME2 i.e. save humanity from the reapers, just did not support how far TIM was willing to go to save humanity.
I do agree though the Alliance and the council are too political just look what happened in ME1, you get screwed over and have to steal an alliance vessel and disobey orders just to do the right thing for the galaxy.
But I prefer what Alliance and the council tries to achieve, peace, stability and freedom.
Hopefully in ME3 they get there act together before its too late for the galaxy.

He doesn't trust the council either, considerating how they used mankind to take charge of their problems (giving them the attican traverse to colonize, an inestable sector), and not doing a thing during ME1 and ME2.
In ME3 my Shep can only trust in the people close to him.
And about Cerberus, he only trusts in the staff from Lazarus (Jacob, Miranda and the crew of the SR2).

I'm pro Cerberus. But in general I just do whatever is most badass.

I'd say that Alliance in ME was badass enough. In my opinion they changed a lot from ME to ME2. Hope they'll be better in ME3.

Entire colonies abducted, their response: "They are in the terminus, not our problem."
When they heard the abduction might be related to Cerberus and Shepard: "Investigate those colonies now, we must stop Cerberus."
And in ME1, the only good thing from the Alliance was giving the command of the Normandy to Shepard and saving the Citadel. Almost all of the side mission we kinda see an incompetent side of them. It was like we were just cleaning their errors (the VI on Luna, the nuclear probe, etc).

well, imo, the Alliance in ME2 was a dissappointment.

Not to mention they used dead shep for recruiting.

Well, you could say the same for Cerberus in ME2. Bioware is surely good in showing how your major supporter (Cerberus, Alliance, Council) makes a lot of mistake in the ME IP.
I agree on the ME2 Alliance. About ME, you should consider that the Alliance and Shepard saved the CItaded. Withouth the 5th Fleet, the Sovereign would have won.

Miranda is the part of MAss Effect 3 i'm most worried about. I started playing Mass Effect with ME2 and Miranda was my first LI for the series. IVe played ME2 many times since then and Miranda has remained one of my favorites. That being said I havent heard anything about her being a permanent squadmate or about her role in ME3 really. Please Bioware please dont screw her up!
She (and every exclusive character from ME2) won't be any kind of squadmate. She has importance in only one mission, and the entire part of it she'll be off screen. We still don't know what she'll do after her mission (if she survives).
Just imagine that her role is like a recruit mission without recruiting her and you won't interact much with her.

Also, if I get to work closely with Admiral Hacket I would probably enjoy working with the Alliance, he's awesome. I'm really interested in how this "anti-Alliance roleplay" turns out though. It better not disappoint.

I really hope shes involved in the game for more than one mission, I guess wishful thinking can't hurt
Just one mission, a main mission btw.
@jtav
Why are you saying that the squadmate thing may not be true. We already know she isn't.

Actually, there is still hope for her to be a temp squadmate Go in the spoiler thread, or ask me to PM you.

You know, as pro Cerberus as I am, I wouldn't want the Alliance to be destroyed like some people apparently want. Just like Cerberus says it is humanity, the Alliance is humanity, it represents Humanity in a lot of ways, I don't even want to think about what would happen if the Alliance was destroyed.

The Alliance is almost screwed in ME3...
* With the destruction of Arcturus, the Alliance already lost almost all of its politicians, high officers, and the place where they constructed their dreadnoughts. They lost their main fleet in Arcturus.*
@hhh89
If it's about the comments of people who played the game, one of them said that the only temp squaddie is Anderson. The rest of the squaddies are the permanents (liara, vega, vs, edi, prothy, garrus and tali)
