For my first play through I'll be pro alliance , I always liked them for the most part , I'll defiinitly try a play through where I'm not to crazy about them though , it would be neat too if it changes the game any

Miranda seemingly in white throughout. Damn it.

I have no reason to have my Shepards go against Alliance, in my eyes most of the anti Alliance Sheps come across as angry kids rebelling against their moms. Especially, if they're pro Cerberus instead. Sure the organization is somewhat capable, but I think it's only because of few great individuals like Miri.

I would never be pro Cerberus , I just think it would be interesting to play a Shepard who has no allegiances other than his crew, it's highly unlikely I'll ever get around to that though, Ive always liked being apart of the alliance in me1 , and im glad we're back in it for me3

Yeah, well especially when some of the crew don't possibly trust either anyway, it would make it quite interesting. But for my Shepard, no matter Miranda might think, my Shepard's loyalties are with Alliance or at least with what it stands for. Arresting him doesn't make my Shepard abandon his duties, he's just a good soldier and does what he is told, maybe not in the manner that it was intended, but he gets the job done.

I couldn't agree with you more melrache, and I wonder if maybe Miranda would work for the alliance in the epilogie since her ties with Cerberus were cut at the end of me2

I'm pro-Cerberus, or rather pro-ME2 Cerberus. The Alliance and Council are too stagnant and hidebound. I will pay almost any price to see them fall.

While the council irks me at times , I don't necessarily hate them, I always saved them in me1 , but I guess I'm just a sucker for being the good solider

I like both the ME (and hopefully the ME3) Alliance and the ME2 Cerberus (which sadly I'm not going to like in ME3). I'd have loved the option to choose one of the two major human factions as Shepard's ally in ME3, and having some consequences in the ending depending on your choice.

I support what Cerberus were trying to do in ME2 i.e. save humanity from the reapers, just did not support how far TIM was willing to go to save humanity.

I do agree though the Alliance and the council are too political just look what happened in ME1, you get screwed over and have to steal an alliance vessel and disobey orders just to do the right thing for the galaxy.

But I prefer what Alliance and the council tries to achieve, peace, stability and freedom.

Hopefully in ME3 they get there act together before its too late for the galaxy.

I'm pro Cerberus. But in general I just do whatever is most badass.
Alliance is not badass.

Well, my Shepard isn't pro-Cerberus, he is a pro-human. He lost his respect to the Alliance when they decided to ignore the colonies abductions.

He doesn't trust the council either, considerating how they used mankind to take charge of their problems (giving them the attican traverse to colonize, an inestable sector), and not doing a thing during ME1 and ME2.

In ME3 my Shep can only trust in the people close to him.

And about Cerberus, he only trusts in the staff from Lazarus (Jacob, Miranda and the crew of the SR2).

I'd say that Alliance in ME was badass enough. In my opinion they changed a lot from ME to ME2. Hope they'll be better in ME3.

well, imo, the Alliance in ME2 was a dissappointment.

Entire colonies abducted, their response: "They are in the terminus, not our problem."

When they heard the abduction might be related to Cerberus and Shepard: "Investigate those colonies now, we must stop Cerberus."

And in ME1, the only good thing from the Alliance was giving the command of the Normandy to Shepard and saving the Citadel. Almost all of the side mission we kinda see an incompetent side of them. It was like we were just cleaning their errors (the VI on Luna, the nuclear probe, etc).

Miranda is the part of MAss Effect 3 i'm most worried about. I started playing Mass Effect with ME2 and Miranda was my first LI for the series. IVe played ME2 many times since then and Miranda has remained one of my favorites. That being said I havent heard anything about her being a permanent squadmate or about her role in ME3 really. Please Bioware please dont screw her up!

Well, you could say the same for Cerberus in ME2. Bioware is surely good in showing how your major supporter (Cerberus, Alliance, Council) makes a lot of mistake in the ME IP.
I agree on the ME2 Alliance. About ME, you should consider that the Alliance and Shepard saved the CItaded. Withouth the 5th Fleet, the Sovereign would have won.

She (and every exclusive character from ME2) won't be any kind of squadmate. She has importance in only one mission, and the entire part of it she'll be off screen. We still don't know what she'll do after her mission (if she survives).

Just imagine that her role is like a recruit mission without recruiting her and you won't interact much with her.

The squadmate thing may or may not be true, strictly speaking.

I really hope shes involved in the game for more than one mission, I guess wishful thinking can't hurt :)

You know, as pro Cerberus as I am, I wouldn't want the Alliance to be destroyed like some people apparently want. Just like Cerberus says it is humanity, the Alliance is humanity, it represents Humanity in a lot of ways, I don't even want to think about what would happen if the Alliance was destroyed.

Also, if I get to work closely with Admiral Hacket I would probably enjoy working with the Alliance, he's awesome. I'm really interested in how this "anti-Alliance roleplay" turns out though. It better not disappoint.

Just one mission, a main mission btw.

@jtav
Why are you saying that the squadmate thing may not be true. We already know she isn't.

The Alliance is almost screwed in ME3...

* With the destruction of Arcturus, the Alliance already lost almost all of its politicians, high officers, and the place where they constructed their dreadnoughts. They lost their main fleet in Arcturus.*

@hhh89

If it's about the comments of people who played the game, one of them said that the only temp squaddie is Anderson. The rest of the squaddies are the permanents (liara, vega, vs, edi, prothy, garrus and tali)
