A lot of sci-fi videogames have been using hexagons lately...

If you played Red Alert 3, the background of briefing screen for the Empire uses the same hexagonal white pattern as Miranda's catsuit.

I'll give you the "this one" part but Ash doesn't look like a shameless copy.

Long, silky hair? Check.
"Pretty'd up" face, complete with big lips and make-up? check.
Tight body suit? Check.
Main human female squad mate? Check.

She isn't a shot-for-shot remake, but it's pretty obvious to see they took some inspiration from Miranda with Ashley's new design.

This has nothing to do with anything tbh.

1. Not Miranda in particular, but they're taking steps to make Ashley the new "Hawt" human female aboard the ship. You'd have to be blind to not notice this.

2. Her original design was the same as it is now, just her pants were white instead of blue. It's still a tight body suit, just not the same level of "painted on" that Miranda's was.

3. Miranda was ME2's main human female, Ashley is ME3's.
