I got paper and pen and a fanfiction site that I can totally correct that with.

Same here... just with several other LI's and a host of other things, besides. The power of denial!
@ CastonFolarus,
Yeah. Funny how people just get attuned to the avatar as opposed to the name. Especially when the most of the icons aren't really unique.

That's how it used to be back in the day for the original Mirimaniacs. None of us had a similar looking avatar and well got used to just seeing pictures instead of names.
Would occasionally cause trouble when someone new with someone else's avatar came into the scene..

(1) I believe there may be a decision on her mission that influences whether she dies or not, too.Sully_47 wrote...

I saw a picture of Miranda dying. (The topic said spoilers allowed) Is there a way to prevent this? Like preparing in some way? If this was mentioned earlier in the thread I do apologize it's like 1655 pages lol.
warn her about leng and she lives.
Im assuming that's a dialogue option ? It just seems so easy lol, why wouldn't anyone warn her ( besides those who hate her )
(2) It's easy if you go to meet her. If you let the opportunity for that meeting pass, she'll die.

True that. It's why I just go with my main DA2 char. I can be moderatly positive that nobody will have the EXACT same avatar. Even if my posts have nothing of merit in them, people might still keep my name/avatar straight. Don't know if it's worked, yet, though.
Wierd thing is that in RL, I remember people's names at the drop of a hat, but I'll be damned if I can recall their faces. This has put me in no small number of embarrasing situations

She's not exactly easy to kill in ME2. I bet she's alive in more people's playthrough than Tali is. I don't see why wasn't made permanent...Yannkee wrote...

I'd take her over Vega in a heartbeat.

I kind of See Miranda not being a full squadmate as a blessing in a curse, Though we see less of miranda she doesn't have such a grim fate if you choose certain options where as most of the full squadies seem to have a bitter end no matter the out come ...
not sure if this counts as a spoiler...>.>

What should've been the apex of her personal story over ME2 and ME3....doesn't happen. Everything that made her unique is gone. Her past that should've given her a critical role in the main plot....relegated to an accidental benefit. Character development? Nil. What should be the ultimate expression of her badassery....happens offscreen. Apparently, anyway. Perhaps it'll not because badassery is valued in visual entertainmeint. Unlike character integrity, as it seems.
We'll see if the presentation can salvage something of her. It's happened with one of the endings for me so why not with Miranda. And in spite of everything, I'm looking forward to the romance and I'm glad to see her again, to have several meetings with her and that the ending doesn't prevent me from imagining a happy end. But the writing - to see how far the writing of the non-romance parts has fallen short of even my lowest expections is painful to see. I guess I should be grateful they haven't turned her into a wilting flower and she's retained her competence and independence, but it's cold comfort. Generic and safe, that's what I'm seeing as of now. The woman that half of the fanbase wanted to kill and the other half fell in love with (yes, yes I exaggerate, but you know what I mean)....I'm not seeing her.
@Roxpanda:
It isn't so bad for the others. Read my thread in the general spoiler group for more.

Can't really see the curse part in it, I am content with the role I've heard and read about. Fortunately the game's gone gold, so they won't be doing any drastic changes from the current thing. It would be more likely to go to hell, than improve things. Oi well.. ME3 unlocks onMarch 8th 1AM, caaan't wait to see it for myself, tbh.

As I said before Miranda has arguably the most screen time out of all ME2 squad mates
how important is miranda?
When it comes to Cerberus, Pretty big
Sounds optimistic, no? Then again people here have read the files, and came to the opposite conclusion.

Ah the Curse for me is the fact they really just left Miranda a bitter part to the end of the game I haven't really seen anything about Miranda that really pertains to the actual plot and I feel like all Mass Effect 2 Characters they are left out of the actual plot

(1) Miranda has much dialogue and screen presence, more than any other of the ME2-exclusive characters.
(2) She remains competent and independent.
(3) She *may* be pretty badass, though it remains unclear if that's shown on-screen.
(4) Her romance content appears to be very good.
(5) A happy ending appears to be possible for her and Shepard
Negatives:
(1) The mission she's involved in is basically a rehash of her ME2 loyalty mission as far as her motivations are concerned. Too much Lawson family drama, not enough big picture.
(2) The encounter that should be the culmination of her story arc leaves her almost uninvolved. I consider this a critical omission of such glaring stupidity that I almost can't believe it. It breaks her story, leaves her generic as a character and makes her presence in the game pointless beyond the romance.
(3) (Rumor) A default (non-imported) game sets her ME2 loyalty flag to "unloyal", which leads to her death.
(4) Her past with Cerberus plays no role at all in the main plot. She provides critical information at one point, but that's just an accidental benefit she runs into while she's busy saving Oriana.
(5) She provides no other benefit to the endgame than taking part in it as a combatant.
The combination of (2), (3) and (4) and (5) results in the impression that she exists to be killed or romanced and has no other function.

I haven't played the game yet, but neither the soundfiles nor the script - which is in other areas 99% correct - suggest a bigger involvement. The mission she takes part in happens to take place in a Cerberus facility, but that's just accidental. She doesn't go there for any Cerberus-related reason, and her inside knowledge of Cerberus plays no role in the benefit she provides.Beard_of_Bees wrote...
@Ieldra. Okay, I thought that the person who had played was hinting at a larger interaction between Miranda and Cerberus. But maybe that was just based on negative #4 on your list.

Comments like that are probably due to Miranda's father running an important Cerberus facility. If you hadn't been spoiled on that point via the leaked script, that would probably seem like a big deal.
However, Miranda's actual involvement is underwhelming at best.
