Did you miss the last conversation on Earth through a vidcom?CuseGirl wrote...
I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye or see her again. She just walks off with her sister and that's it. He doesn't even say something to the sky like "I'm sorry" or "I'll see you one day" or anything!
A two lines talk hardly qualifies as a conversayion. I tought it was a good moment for Miranda to do some introspection and, quite frankly, it could have been a lot worse. And her complaining about the microchip? What is that about? We talked about that in ME-2! I'm over it! It's done! I love you Miranda....give it up.
They could have easily used it as a way of passing moral judgment on the Miranda of ME2. And while there is a certain element of it in the conversation, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Shepard could actually defend her actions back in ME2.
Though, admitadelly, I would have liked for it to happen anywhere but the romance scene.

No it was when you were walking there. There's communication officer in one of the houses, who can connect you to several former squadmates etc, so you can do your goodbyes etc.

That message at the SB terminal made up for a lot. It shows that Miranda matters. Otherwise, her role appears more like an outline of one than something fully fleshed-out. Which is disappointing, but as you say it leaves room for our own imagination to supply the rest of her story.strive wrote...
Her role was okay. I didn't really see much character or romance growth that others do. It could of been worse (sorry Jacob fans). At least with her role being ambiguous there is plenty of room for headcanon.
The phrasing of some things in the control chip conversation bugs me. I don't think Miranda would've put things in those terms like "confess" and "destroying your free will". Much too Paragon to fit Miranda. At least I can assure her that it doesn't matter any more.
All in all, so much of Miranda's potential went unrealized that I can't say I'm not a tad disappointed. The confrontation with her father - reduced to two words and a biotic throw. Why she left Cerberus if you kept the base? Unexplored.
But compared to others - even some team members - it really isn't that bad.
BTW, can anyone say whether there's a difference in the fleet's attack on Cerberus HQ if she's alive? I've heard that mentioned somewhere.
@CuseGirl:
Err....was there anything wrong with my posting that spoiler or are you just sad for having missed it? You can replay from the start of London, you know. I know I would.

I'm not mad you lolll....I just really truly have this feeling that I let Ace Shepard down....I guess cuz I rock his photo on here (and usually in any game where I can role play, I name him Ace) I just feel like that's me in that orange kestral armor. And I let MYSELF down by not saying goodbye and not surviving the ordeal....I made other mistakes as well, not just the Miranda thing. My EMS wasn't nearly high enough for me to get the things I wanted....

If you wanted the EMS 4000 special end, that's really hard to get without MP. I think I played a pretty complete game and didn't alienate or decimate any faction that could be my ally. I still got only about 3600 in the end. I can't believe I missed out on 800 points of war assets. Still, it's enough for all other endings. Since I hate Destroy, it doesn't really bother me. I just with there was a 4k EMC Shepard survives scenario for the other options as well.CuseGirl wrote...

(BTW, if you just want to see what happens, you can cheat with war assets using Gibbed's ME3 savegame editor. I did that to see the Shepard survives ending)

Has anyone taken it upon themselves to reedit the final flashback movie, and insert in a shot of Miranda in place of Liara? I am still blown away that Bioware didn't do this originally, it really bugs me.
That would be smart of someone, maybe the scene from Mass Effect during their romance scene when Shepard has his hands wrapped around her with him behind her? That would be the best I think, or the scene on the Citadel with their hands clasped. AKA the screen shot someone posted on here awhile back.
I'm still wondering what scene I should use.
The problem with the romance scene is that Shepard is shown, and all the players don't play with the same Shepard look.

Well if they don't bother to reedit the scene themselves, they don't have the right to complain. I plan to try and edit the scene after my second playthrough, didn't fraps it the first time through. Might use the elevator wink scene or such. Not sure yet.

I think it was summarised well earlier, there is very little Miranda in the game, but that little is overall of very high quality. For some, the quality makes it "acceptable", but a lot of people are disappointed with her getting the short end of the stick, when it's been fairly apparent that she was the most popular character introduced in ME2. Introducing her as a joinable NPC even as late as London would have been reasonable and probably resulted in a lot more happy people. Well, at least happy until the ending.MisterJB wrote...
I think the quality Miranda's role in ME3 is ambiguous enough so as to generate much more disparate opinions amongst her fans when compared to Thane's or Jacob's fanbase.
From what I've seen, opinions range from "acceptable" to "slap in the face to Miranda fans".
Of course, being divided into different factions is not uncommon for us.

What did everyone think of the idea of promises being a recurring theme? I think it gives them there own version of "Here's looking at you, kid" and Shepard finally promising her is what gets me. The death scene is even worse because there's also a last kiss.

I wonder why they made him promise in that scene? You don't even have a choice about saying it. Maybe it's some way they're telling us to imagine our own scenario for their eventual re-meeting, whatever the end may be.
Regarding Miranda's role, I am surprisingly ok with it. Obviously it's far from ideal, but it works.

She has a large role compared to the other three ME2 LIs. There's even something approaching an arc. She does awesome things and she's playful and still a bit cocky. I'd love to have her on the ship until TIM's base, but I'm okay-ish with what we have.

I love the idea of promises being a recurring theme. I'm a sucker for that stuff. The one time they do promise each other something ("Find me." "I promise.") it doesn't seem possible to keep it. Adds a level of angst for me that makes my heart hurt.

Help! I thought that there would be a "Make Out" Scene in Sanctuary? I didn't get it. Don't tell me it's based on whether you Promised her in ME2 or not.
