On third playthrough now and just got the datapad app, I'm gonna see if she sends me any mail on it.

What is this datapad app from?  What's it about? Where do you get it?

It's an iOS app itunes.apple.com/us/app/mass-effect-3-datapad/id506847903
During your ME3 playthrough squadmates and characters (including ME2 squadmates) send you text messages...
Like so:

I wanted to get it on my iPod touch but it's too old to run it apparenty

I wonder what Miranda says...

Am I going crazy or did Henry actually sounded like a concerned father for a second? Oriana must be more perfect than we think.

Replaying this section reminded me just how disapointing it is. Before ME3, I had expected a lengthy debate between Mr.Lawson and Miranda regarding the ethics of her birth and childhood with opportunities for Shepard to intervine. Now that would be quite a sweet DLC.
*sigh*

I don't think he's all that "concerned" He did have his gun pointed at Oriana or was it Miranda?  We missed so much "behind the scenes"  I wished they showed.  We know Oriana tried to shoot Lawson and Miranda was on the floor.  Sounded like some biotics were used? Maybe Miranda. No idea if Oriana has biotics? Oriana probably doesn't even know how to use a gun if she missed.

He anything but loving. He tells us Miranda influence is "poisionious"  it's more like Henry Lawson is the one that's abusive and still holding on to aminosity towards Miranda.  I'd say he's not loving at all.

At Miranda. He was using Oriana as a human shield.

Agreed.

I won't deny that he is abusive.
However, I was actually surprised by the way he treated Oriana. Calling Miranda "poisonous" is no different from any other father who thinks a certain friend will be a bad influence on his child and wants them apart. That could be seen as another sign of concern and affection.

Ultimately, he is just as self-centered as Miranda claimed he was. He won't risk his life just for Oriana.

You're right MisterJB. Who knows how he would have really treated Oriana but I have my doubts he'd be all that gentle with her if he was using Oriana as a human shield. He only cares about himself. He wanted to leave the place alive easily tossing Oriana to the side. Miranda risked everything for Oriana.

Which choice did you go with in the dialogue? Paragon or Renegade. I had both options available to me... I went paragon but then changed it to Renegade to be a little more protective of Miranda and Oriana and not backing down.

Renegade.

Shepard: Try to walk out with her, you die. Let her go and maybe you'll live.
Henry: I never did anything to you.
Shepard: This isn't about you or me. Let her go!

I liked how it showcased the differences between Commander Shepard and Henry Lawson.
Shepard's only concern in that situation is the wellbeing of both Lawson sisters while Henry can't even conceive why anyone would do anything just for the sake of another sentient being.
Selfless vs selfish.

Of course we *want * more. But be realistic. Has Bioware ever made a DLC that not all players can play?

I LOVE This Screenshot:wub:! I LOVE Miri's Smile When She asks, "No Second Thoughts:wub:?"

You know, not only does Miri's Hair have Strands at the bottom now, but her Hair appears to be a bit more higher(?), which I FOR ONE have NO problem with. Miri is Beautiful NO MATTER WHAT:wub:!

I used the Renegade option. What does Shepard say if you use the Paragon one?

Shepard says, "I have no problem with you. I just want Oriana and the research data."

Henry Lawson: "You want a lot."

Shepard: "You get your live in return. How much is that worth?"

Henry Lawson: "Alright... Take her but I want out alive."

Then Miranda blast her sorry excuse for a father out the broken window. I love that part. I've watched that a dozen times or more. "No deal." :)

Oh I loved this scene. Great reward after I spent the whole mission furiously blasting Reaper scum to save Miri from Mr Space Ninja. Shoulda known she could take care of herself - "NO DEAL"

Agreed.

What I would like to see in a romance DLC :
- A conclusion (a happy one if they are both alive, a bittersweet one if Shepard is dead).
- At least one more date / conversation with Miranda on the citadel.
- The possibility to invite her on the Normandy.
- Longer version of the romance scene in the appartment (or a goodbye scene rather than being teleported outside of the appartment).

I was so frustrated when I got to the end of that mission and it was just over so quick. I was so nervous for Miri the whole time I rushed through the mission as fast as I could because I couldn't stand the thought of anything bad happening lol.

And although I would love more Miranda content I just can't see EA approving DLC only for a specific character.

I'd love for a LotSB type of DLC for Miranda. It would possibly flatter me enough to overlook the ending fiasco. I don't see it in the cards. ME2 romances are in pretty bad shape for anything honestly, excluding Garrus and Tali.

Indeed. There is so much implied content that it's maddening. It practically screams for a DLC to flesh it out. And it's theoretically possible to have DLC content that plays out before the moment where her death would occur in a default game. That way only those who killed her in ME2 would lose out. It would be hard to integrate into the existing game with all those variables.

I might even buy such a thing if they don't fix the ending. Right now, that MIranda is alive and in the Sol system is the only saving grace of the ending scenario.

The Normandy visit would be hard to integrate, with Miranda being ex-Cerberus and all. I would settle for a meeting in a nice location....somewhere. I agree about the rest.

@enyasoul:
The Liara fans have it easy. Their LI is plot-critical, always alive until the end, has the most content of any team member and is ME's Creator's Pet. And still they demand more. Hmph.
Thanks for the Paragon dialogue BTW.

@jtav:
Just read your fanfic excerpt. Nice as usual, but Miranda's emotions appear somewhat underplayed when she thinks she's lost Shepard. if you can make that a little more intense without compromising your writing style, that would be good. On the other hand, the emotions about the control chip, Sanctuary etc... are too intense. Too self-castigating.

Yeah but we win in the end. No end game Normandy shenanigans for Miranda.

I think a DLC for Jack and Miranda could be interesting. It could take place between love scene dialogue and Sanctuary. Miranda uses Alliance resources to find a lead towards Sanctuary. Hackett catches the same lead (without knowledge of Miranda knowing about it) sends a Marine Corps with Jack and her students to check it out. Have it deal with Cerberus/Indoctrination from a hidden Cerberus facility or something. Marine Corps is decimated Jack, her students and Miranda destroy much of the facility. Shepard shows up and works with them directly (both of them in squad) or over comm from a different path for the final part of the facility.

Jack could find some 'files' on her past and Miranda could find 'files' on Oriana's possible location. I think they would have great banter between each other as well. Shepard gets war assets, stops Cerberus and more dialogue with two characters. Plus I'm a big fan of Jack and Miranda being friends.

I have to say that in this case, I take no satisfaction from "winning". The end is such a steaming mess, nobody deserves that. Everyone here, including us, would profit from something more coherent and less depressing. Then at least we would have some common ground to tell Miranda stories to each other without having to recreate the universe first.

Yeah I agree. It isn't really a 'win' poor choice of words, more like 'we got sorta lucky' or "it could be worse".

*crosses fingers* This would be a dream come true ^_^
But well not to sound pessimistic but I tend to refrain myself from having big dreams these days, for some reasons.

I tried to make it more intense, but it came out wrong, and the rebuilding aspect takes priority. I would have no sympathy for Miranda if she weren't self-castigating over this. She needs to be guilty.

Never have so many been disappointed with the decisions of a few and a game.

I know, bad paraphrasing from Winston Churchill. Anyways, I believe that Marauder Shields was a true hero who deserves to be honored.

Eh I'll just screw canon at this point and rewrite ME3 entirely. Miranda definitely gets a sh*tload more screentime and attention.
