New outbreak of pessimism jtav? What brought this on?

Not so much pessimism as observation. I'm getting serious squadmate vibes from Jack. More than one place has already talked about Jacob not being a squaddie. BW tends to treat male and female LIs equally, so it looks like we might be getting two sets of LIs. And we're running out of slots.

jtav keeps bouncing between optimism and pessimism. First 50 pages were all pessisism, followed by a small bout of 10 pages worth of optimism, then the cycle repeats.

You get used to it. Or ignore it.

Good news if you ask me. They're paying some attention to the ME2-exclusives. And I would like Jack as a permanent squaddie. Not as much as Miranda, but I wouldn't exactly be consumed by resentment.

I would. If Miranda is not. Tali is bad enough, to have Miranda sidelined in favor of Jack would be absolutely the last straw. It would trigger the Citadel-sized rant I've mentioned earlier.

Good I don't really believe it.

Ouch. But true enough. Just trying to make sense of the information we have. Pessimism's the wrong word, though.

I haven't abandoned all hope just yet but things are looking a bit dim. A year ago I would've thought Miranda would've been one of the first to be announced and yet still we have next to nothing. I think it was the announcement of, what is it now, five full squadies coupled with the smaller planned squad this time around. Bioware did seem to be talking up Jack for a while but that's died down a bit.

I wouldn't be surprised, if she was the last to be announced, after being in such highlighted role in ME2.

I'm still attributing this to magazine speculation and the fact that Jacob is on the lower end of the popularity spectrum.
But it might be true...

Yeah it wouldn't make sense to sideline Miranda in favor of Jack, I don't really need her or see how it would work for the story.

This summer is filled with conventions, I count at least 5 including Comic-Con that ME3/Bioware will be at.  Great pacing IMO to reveal little bites of info.

Overall I still believe they are just started working on Miranda and they don't have anything ready for the public OR they feel that her being tied to the Cerberus plot (which is something Bioware wants to keep quiet as much as possible) would hinder how early we get any information about her.

True. BioWare kinda messed up with DA2 and there were ton of people spoiling others with info they dug up. Few words too many and you could probably give out too much. I don't need to know anything else, other than that I'll able to interact with her a lot and she'll be there in good role.

Reposting something I said earlier: there's one very good reason not to have seen anything Miranda related. The iconic element, the one constant across all three outfits, is the Cerberus insignia. If she's still wearing it in-game, that says a lot about her role. Same with its absence.

Veering a little off topic here but I always end up spoiing it for myself by way of Justin.tv.  I did it with DA2 and ME2 and I'll probably wind up doing it with ME3.  ^_^

An interesting idea just popped into my head:

According to the next book:

"Former navy admiral David Anderson and Kahlee Sanders, director of the Ascension Project, appear before the Citadel Council with an urgent appeal: unless decisive action is taken, the galaxy-wide community of the Systems Alliance faces imminent annihilation by the Reapers, the race of sentient machines that invade worlds and harvest all life forms.

Butthe Council is skeptical, even when confronted with grisly evidence of the human/Reaper experiments that ultimately killed Paul Grayson. The only way David and Kahlee can prove their suspicions about the Reapers
is by exposing Cerberus, the fanatical paramilitary group devoted to human preservation at any cost, and its involvement in the experiments.  But the Illusive Man, leader of Cerberus, will stop at nothing to protect his secrets.

Now, as David and Kahlee pursue their investigation, the Illusive Man?s relentless enforcer stays one step ahead of them, covering his master's tracks with ruthless efficiency. But Cerberus never bargained on Gillian Grayson, now a powerfully gifted Biotic, discovering the shocking truth about her father. And no amount of cunning may be enough to protect the Illusive Man and Cerberus from her terrible vengeance."

Now we know Kai Leng, TIM, Anderson will appear in ME3.  So unless she dies in the book I can see Kahlee appearing too.  Would be interesting to have both Miranda and Kahlee together in some fashion and listening to their banter on the Cerberus related missions...and working together to find a way to defeat the Reapers.

Similar to Elvyrns fan fic heh

Hopefully the enforcer is really Kai Leng, not.. ''repurposed'' Miri.

That is what I'm assuming (and hoping) since Miranda can die during the SM and the book bridges the gap between ME2 and ME3

I think it's highly likely its Kai Leng since he will be in ME3.
And since he was involved in the last book against Kahlee and Anderson

@Vertigo_1:
Kahlee has a very minor role in Elyvern's fanfic, she appears in one flashback scene. IIRC I tried to talk her out of putting her in at all, but it just wasn't important enough in the end. I wouldn't like to see her in ME3.

No news yet?

Maybe Miranda has some important role related story, so they can't really talk about her much. No news is usually bad news. I don't get it, I mean Miranda is one of the most favored new squad member in ME2 and still no news.

I still want my Miranda back.

Also, he killed Gillian's father.
And Aria's daugther.
Boy, everyone will be coming for this guy's skin in ME3.

True, although the thought I had reminded me of that scene.

I don't know why people don't like Kahlee though (not trying to go OT here)

Knowing TIM, he'll be able to pit all of them against each other, somehow.:?

If Jack returns and Miri does not, let's just say that since I didn't use Jack in ME2 outside of her LM, I won't miss her absence in ME3.

jack will be absent in ME3 for me anyway. IMO, jack is just "a liability to our cause."
