Do you want to write a fanfic using your scenario or this is just nostalgia for what could have been? Also I'm interested in what you'd do with TIM's base.

As I said in another thread, I saw the Miranda breakup scene yesterday. I had heard there were some tears, but I had no idea what I was in for. Good thing I saved beforehand.
I don't know about anyone else, but I was absolutely mortified when I watched it. I felt like such an ass.
You should feel like an ass breaking up with Miranda. Just know that it gets worse should you play on after breaking up.
That's why I saved beforehand. I wanted to see what happened in game and not on the internet. I had no idea it was going to be that bad. I immediately reloaded it and continued our relationship.

Simple and effective. And in fact, what I expected to happen at least with kept-CB Miranda. It would've been just a few added lines. That nobody of the oh-so-professional people at Bioware saw that there needed to be some closure for Miranda/Cerberus beggars comprehension.jtav wrote...
All other things being equal, I'd handle Miranda's death like Grunt's. She gives her father a speech. "This isn't Cerberus! I gave my life to protect humanity! You're just a monster!" And she sabotages his Reaper signal and reverses integration, but is wounded. If she was unloyal, the wound is mortal and she dies in Shepard or Oriana's arms. If she's loyal, the wound is not mortal and the freed soldiers look to her for leadership and she promises a new Cerberus.

I think it would. She already didn't like Teltin, and what Cerberus does in ME3 goes beyond anything they've done before. Before, they were just casual about collateral damage, here they rob people of their humanity in order to create those "expendable shock troops". It is a betrayal of Cerberus' original mission statement. Miranda would never go along with it.SNascimento wrote...
Well, she worked with Cerberus for almost 20 years and was the second-in-command. She knew very well was Cerberus was capable of. I don't think staying with Cerberus would go against the character...

Did you know that the reference to being Cerberus 2IC is romance-exclusive? In my femShep / keptCB game, she doesn't mention it. What were they smoking at Bioware?jtav wrote...
Eh, flemm there's no difference between keeping and destroying the base. I have no clue why Miranda left Cerberus in my game.

Yes it seems to be romance exclusive.
Also something bothers in the first conversation with a romanced Miranda, Shepard tells her he haven't heard from her during the past six months yet he doesn't ask how she's been (on the run) as opposed to the non-romanced conversation. So much for being a caring boyfriend + we miss a couple of badass lines from Miranda.
We have to pick up the clues here and there to have the whole story completed.
Your last sentence made me laugh, a friend of mine who is a casual ME gamer so to speak asked me the same thing about the endings

Except that she always speaks as if Miranda is dead. That soured the scene for me.SNascimento wrote...
Miranda is a bit crazy.
.
And Tali getting drunk and speaking about her is pretty cool.
That, and not being able to verbally **** slap Tali for what she says at the end, did it for me. Yes Tali, I know you're upset that the person you hero worshipped doesn't want you to be his girlfriend, but insulting (or at best, giving a backhanded compliment) his current girlfriend doesn't help matters!<_<

As for that last line it wasn't an insult at all. It was just weird coming from a female alien as opposed to just some drunk dude.

I still think it sounds as if Miranda is dead. "You two *were* close", that's the statement that makes it so.

Ah yes. Now I remember. That's not the worst part though. The worst part is that Shepard doesn't correct that past tense, he uses it.Ieldra2 wrote...

I though it was a bug. I think it should be fixed, it doesn't make sense.

That's certainly a wierd thing to adjust based on the romance. Honestly, the implementation is just bizarre overall.
I also think that a dialogue option to ask essentially, "So, why did you leave Cerberus?" should have obviously been included here. Even in games where the base was destroyed, it would make sense to get more clarification.

And Mordin? I was able to create a cure with his replacement. Maelon's cure was destroyed, so I don't know if he can save Eve with the data.

I will say that I'd rather import a Miranda romance than start a new one. Those romances are insanely short.

And for the record I don't accept Miranda sacrificing herself no matter how badassfuly it's done. Not unless there's some option to avoid/fix it.

And Miranda dying really doesn't bother me. Sad, but not the end of the world. And death doesn't have the sting it did before Lazarus and Eva. It's a pricey time out box.

Interesting, given how a few months ago you (or it might've been someone else) were trying to convince me that Miranda was the only one who could pull Lazarus off.jtav wrote...

But yeah technically you're right. It's not the end of the world. The end of the world is the one that comes in three colors...
Actually you know what I rescind my statement completely. There is one and only one Miranda sacrifice I would accept and that is the one that completely wipes the RGB from existance. Get me Miranda on the Crucible wiping out the Reapers and that insufferable holokid without killing the geth or destroying the relays and I will allow that, heartbreaking though it may be.

Agreed, it's the initial breakthrough that is most difficult, it's generally easier to replicate or exploit that type of new discovery.
