I wonder if anyone of the dev team is a Miranda fan. Its obvious someone on their is a Liara fan -__-

I'm going to go with "No".

Yep. Moreover she is expendable, she id a ME2 exclusive character they wouldn't get the precious dosh with her anymore.

I hate to bring this up, but Legion and Mordin.

Both of them had monumental roles (Granted, they also both die) and gratuitous amounts of screen time.

Still though, even after I've beaten the game 4 or 5 times, I still think the "But she can die" argument is as strong as wet tissue paper.

Heaven forbid Bioware wanted us to romance someone who isn't Ashley/Kaidan or Liara, or favor someone who isn't Tali or Garrus.

Agreed but I was being half-sarcastic about this flemm ;) Still I think it contributed a little.
I wish I could be inside the developpers' mind to find out, it may not be pleasant. One of them must hate her with a passion.

Does anyone else get the feeling there were major internal fights about Cerberus' portrayal?

Well, I dunno. But when you combine that possibility with the whole transhumanist angle apparently being surpressed, it seems like those two things might explain why Miranda's character is diluted in ME3.

I thought he mentions them both?

Really? Well I would never really know, since I still can't stomach a playthrough where she dies.

Yeah. I think the problem here is, as soon as you let this happen, really as soon as you let Miranda interact with anybody other than Oriana and Shepard, the Cerberus question has to be addressed, and Miranda would have to give her take on it.

With Ashley/Kaidan this is particularly true, but not only with them.

I think this is why Miranda has no banter at all, and never boards the Normandy.

would be awkward considering all accusations Ashley threw at Shepard when she knew shepard extremely well let alone a complete stranger like Miranda.

Thats saying I was hoping for some banter not just Ashley saying 'I am the one that does not go into battle in swim wear' and thats it.....

Granted, Miranda and Ashley are never present in the same place (aside Sanctuary, if you take Ashley).

Even there, they don't say a peep to one another, even though Ashley makes it very clear that she knows who Miranda is.

Me neither. It's odd (to me). I can sacrifice the quarians if I had to, but never Miranda. Oh well.

Anyway, that's just what I've heard.

Awesome. I'm coming to like Kai Leng's death in my short story that much more.

what do you think will happen with Miranda if they do actually fix the ME3 endings and give us 'closure'?

Probably their original plan.

Redemption via death.

Jokes aside, I have no idea. It would depend on what the fixed ending entails.

Now, I don't even think we'll see her. I guess our loving reunion between them will happen only in our dreams.

*barely optimistic* Maybe they'll do more than explaining the endings. Frankly, I don't want it explained, I want it gone, changed. Then there'll be a glimmer of hope.

Luckily (for me), I've already began working on a reunion scenario. I can post an excerpt later on tonight.

I like the choices, so I hope those stay. What's needed are scenes of rebuilding. I'd vote for epilogue cards, but the thought of Miranda's scares me.

I too, like many of us, have thought of loving reunion scenarios.

By all means post it :) Though I'll probably be sleeping.

Admittedly the three choices in themselves are good though they would need many different variations determined by your previous choices to really work for me.

I would love to see a twenty minutes long epilogue showing how you shaped the Galaxy and bringing closure to the characters you love.
Yesterday I was watching the MGS4 ending on Youtube and I couldn't help noticing all the comments saying " Take notes BioWare, this is how you end a beloved saga", with an hour long epilogue.

The only think they can do is adding a flashback. Any more content is impossible., the sidelined character never were important.

I saw Miri's Death Scene, the Romance Death Scene (More Specifically) on YouTube. I ONLY saw THAT one. After seeing THAT, I will NOT be seeing ANY OTHER Version of Miri's Death Scene. NOT ON YOUTUBE, NOT ON ANYWHERE ELSE, EVER!!!! I also saw the breakup vid. It broke my heart too. I will NOT, I VOW RIGHT NOW: In My Life, AND In The Afterlife, I Will NOT Break Up With Miri, And I Will NOT Let Her Die!!!!

If any other Mirimancer/Mirimaniac does those AWFUL things intentionally, they will lose ALL respect from me, FOREVER!

Youre clearly a lunatic.

My idea for a happy(ish) ending with what little bioware gave us is this

(Summary of idea)

Shepard is taking to a make shift hospital

Miranda is there searching for Shepard

She finds Shepard unconscious and takes control of the situation and personally oversees Shepard

She does everything she can to get him back to how he was (even some operations to replace broken synthetics parts where needed)

a few days later Shepard wake up and spots instantly Miranda sleeping next to his bed side with her hands wrapped around your right hand.

Shepard strokes her hair with his only hand free (even though its hurting to move)

Miranda wakes up and doubles checks she is not seeing things and instantly hugs and kisses him

Miranda - 'thank God your alive, it was killing me seeing you in this shape'

Shepard - 'appears I have you to thank for saving my life again'

Miranda - 'couldn't let you die on me, after everything we have been through'

Shepard - 'of course not you gave me a second chance'

Miranda - 'third chance actually'

Shepard - 'third chance and I do not plan on wasting this opportunity'

Miranda - 'what you going to do?'

Shepard - 'considering neither of us have to run from anything anymore, I was wondering if you would want to try to living a normal life with me'

Miranda - 'you certain you want to start a normal life?'

Shepard - 'I am certain I have spent my entire life fighting and first time in my life I have something... someone I want to hold on to for the rest of my life.... so is it as a yes or a ...'

Miranda interrupts by kissing Shepard

Miranda - 'does that answer your question'

Shepard - 'yes it does'

what do you guys think of the idea or is it something that needs work?

I liked it, this is quite loving.
However as Skullheart said I don't want them to have a normal life, to settle down. They are not meant for that. I would rather like to see something like this :

Miranda - What are you going to do ?
Shepard - I guess there's a lot to rebuild but I know I want to live through this with the woman I love.
Miranda - Oh ? And who that woman might be Commander ?
...

I have my own idea (posted it in the group and borrowed one of Ieldra's ideas of his memory being fragmented), but it's my own headcanon and don't want to force it on anyone, but here it is

Since Miranda & Thomas (my Shep) go back 20+ years, the way she'd be in it is not what we see "on-screen". She'll be bothered by his death (frequent nightmares where she relives seeing the Citadel explode, knowing that he hasn't come back) and get angry that he apparently failed to keep his promise to come back to her. Then about a month after he died, Thomas "re-spawns" in bed next to her, gasping for air and essentially scaring the **** out of her. Problem is, he's suffering from amnesia and remembers absolutely nothing after he got spaced when the SR-1 was destroyed (he knows Miranda because of how far back they go and he's been in love with her for years).

It ultimately takes him a year to regain his memory of everything that happened after he was Lazarus-ed. In the meantime, he gets promoted to Fleet Admiral* and the Reapers are able to repair the Mass Relays. At that point, Thomas, and Miranda (as well as the former crew that are now on Earth- i.e. Wrex & Tali) launch a rescue mission to pick-up the Normandy crew and go to Horizon to get Oriana. Afterwards, Thomas remains a Spectre so even though he's a full-fledged Fleet Admiral, he's not stuck behind a desk and officially marries Miranda who goes on to form humanity's STG.

I doubt I'd ever make it into a fan-fic. I'd get too much of a backlash for "ruining" Miranda, plus like I've said before, I'm horrible at writing dialogue (though I'm okay with other stuff). If I did though, I do have a title for it in mind: "Somewhere Out There" (based off the song by Our Lady Peace).

*There's two reasons for this: One, he should've been promoted to Captain once he was made a Spectre and had to have his own ship, then to Rear Admiral for defeating Sovereign and full Admiral for defeating the Collectors- even if it was with Cerberus since the Alliance wasn't really doing anything about it. Second, the three-time savior of the galaxy shouldn't have to answer to anyone. Plus it would make it easier for him to aid Miranda.

As promised, here is an excerpt from my 2nd short story, entitled Salvation. This particular piece is a rough draft, so (as per normal) don't expect it to be Shakespearean.

The choice is yours, as are the consequences.

Boy... I never would have thought that particular phrase would leave such a lasting impact on me. Some of the details were lost in the battle, but I fortunately (Or maybe not so much) retained enough for a retelling.

The last thing I remember... I felt... I felt like I was dead, but I knew I wasn't. Have you ever heard that old saying, "When the pain gets too terrible, you stop feeling it"? Well... that's a damn lie. I felt it, felt all of it, and it was hell. I had a Carnifex in hand, and the fate of the galaxy laid in my hands. I had managed to unite the various species in one final battle against the Reapers. Never a dull moment, huh? The last thing to run through my mind at that moment... the promise I had made to Miranda. I was supposed to find her, but that was before I took the brunt of Harbinger's attack. I couldn't quit now, I wouldn't. Everything rested on that moment. Like Javik had said, every soul that had ever existed was watching that moment. As I fired into the power conduit on the Citadel, I pondered, could I really sacrifice all synthetic life? Was Legion's sacrifice in vain? What about EDI? Joker would be distraught. No, he would understand, it had to be done. Legion gave its life to stop the Reapers, as had Kaidan, and Thane, and Mordin all did. All of a sudden, I felt a deep rumbling, then I blacked out.

My eyes opened, a bright light in front of my face. Odd, I didn't see a light the first time I died. I heard a voice, someone I knew.

"Hey Skipper, the doc said you'd be good to talk to, I thought I'd stop by."

It was Ashley, sitting beside me. With great difficulty, I spoke back, "Unhh... What? Where am I?"

You may notice a bit of cheese in that. That is intentional.
