I could never get into Liara, she bored the daylight out of me. Only ever really done Ashley, Miranda, and Garrus romances.

Hey no reason to disrespect any other character. If Liara's the favorite good for her (and her fans). I like her too. I even have a playthrough for her romance. But the point is Miranda is my main Shep's girl. And nothing is going to change that.

Eh, for once we're on the same page.

Though it would be more correct to say that Miranda almost got the hero. You know, before he died destroying galactic civilization.
And I'm very suspicious of Liara's "gift".

No, Shepard is constantly saluting Hackett when in "Arrival" you could be angry at the Alliance's accusations.

Also yeah in regards to the gift and that asari child alluded to in whatever Ieldra was talking about... there is apparently some hint in that meld sequence that Liara's actually getting pregnant off that. Confirm it first, but take it as you will. For myself that actually works towards my purposes. But yeah, if true, since that happens regardless of romancing Liara it doesn't necessarily mean she's the canon LI. It just means you accepted that meld in canon.

Yeah, I didn't see much evidence for that either. But I wonder if you could think of it as respecting Hackett himself. He is pretty badass. The same goes for Anderson.

She got the guy for me too, but BW does their level best to force Miranda into the tragic femme fatale archetype without actually forcing her to die. If Miranda wasn't quite so popular, her death probably would be forced.

I agree. And, of course, there is just enough space allotted to that in the game for it to work.

Just barely, though. It's waaay too close for comfort, and it should be much, much better.


Anyway, Vertigo, JB and I are going to be tweeting the devs about Miranda, specifically about areas where we want more closure, and things we would like to see in DLC.

Any and all suggestions are welcome, I will write it up in a brief post that can then be forwarded. I think basically there are three areas:

1) Story
Things we would like to see happen that did not happen. An example would be: Miranda should be present at TIM's base.

2) Character
Character traits that were not addressed, but should be, i.e. Miranda's genetic engineering.

3) Romance
Stuff we would like for the romance, such as a better romance scene.

We'll need to keep it brief, but let's hear your thoughts. Before anyone says, "doesn't matter/can't happen/Bioware hates Miranda/it's impossible," don't even bother, because we are going to be doing this anyway

Yeah, I remember dialog when Anderson gave you your dog tags and you wanted an option to throw them right back at him.  I would have done stomething like that (though it would be a choice).  I don't believe that you should be forced back into the Alliance to face this threat (considering the help they are getting, blue suns, eclipse, etc).

An expanded confrontation with Henry touching on her genetic engineering
Miranda's survival opening up options not otherwise available

An on-screen kiss on the mouth in scenarios where she survives
A badass cutscene of her fighting Leng
Fix the flashback bug

Well I think it's a bit inappropriate at that point, and I don't think Shepard would lash out at Anderson. But there should be options to basically tell him and/or Hackett "I'm working with you, not for you. I can be your rallying point but I'm no longer Alliance." And of course any crew member that says differently, you get to correct them.

Maybe it's too much to ask but all of this should have already been present in the game imo.

Further suggestions:
Tweak the holo-dialog at the end. I don't know if anyone else got this impression but I thought she was trying to break up with me. Just a a clearer reaffirming of their feelings (perhaps expanded on in previous scenes). Those three words wouldn't be out of place either...
More Miranda emails, either updating you on all the kickassery she's doing or just checking in on you. It's text, they shouldn't be that hard to write.
More banter and possibly some type of back&forth with Ashley?

And if they get around to tweaking her confrontation with Lawson for the love whatever you believe in, make him more menacing. Please?

It's not. You just can't break up with her.
If your Shepard did not romance her in ME2, she will be fine.

I actually really liked the holo dialogue, and would only change the blocking so that they are stroking each other's faces or something. She isn't trying to break up with you, she just think she's going to die again. Or you are. Nothing more than her usual pessimism.

I would lash out a little bit. Tell Vega that allowying our people to die for insignificancies that have no place in the greater scheme of things was just staying true to the Alliance's spirit. I'm sure his deceased commander would be proud.
