This is totally in the spirit of the ME3 endings. Oh....you actually expected a story around the ME3 endings to MAKE SENSE?

Just a reminder everyone. If ya want to make your voice heard about how you think Miranda’s romance went in ME3 (A new outfit and a longer romance scene would have been great!) PM me or post here!

http://social.biowar...ndex/10853184/4

I only have 8 letters from Miranda fans right now. I know there's a few more of you guys out there!

Passionate, but polite! What did you like, what didn't you like? Were your expectations met regarding how you last saw Miranda in ME2? How well do you think she was portrayed in ME3? What do you wish was done better, or differently?

Deadline for letters is Thursday 9 PM (EST). Gotta PM it to me or post on the above thread by then so I can be sure it gets printed out!!

Ah. Of course. Nothing short of full rejection makes sense.

We have talked about reaching the Devs with our recommendations and desire for improved Miranda content, such as tweeting and Facebook. Well here is another way to put our money where our mouth is. We have to use every avenue, do not let the next person do the work, as they are probably waiting on you to do the work. Are we just going to talk the talk, or are we going to back our words with actual actions? Just 8 letters from this group? Common guys, and yes I am talking to you lurkers as well. I see you up in the rafters, we need you as well! Honestly, what have we got to lose?

I can't write a letter to the devs because it won't be nice. I already have stated that a chimp can write better content that them.

For the letters Visii has been collecting, yeah, everyone should send a few thoughts. Doesn't have to be a novel (like mine sort of was Image IPB), but let the devs know what you would like to see.

Come on, man. Just leave out the insults Image IPB

But otherwise, do some venting. You will feel a bit better afterward Image IPB

Don't keep it all pent up inside...

Lol well Skullheart perhaps you can just include what you want out of Miranda's story and her relevance to the plot etc. You do not have to include their failings, although in mine I included that I felt the ME 2 squad kind of got screwed and then posted somethings that can help fix it. Although a little meanness never hurt anyone.

Each time I try to write it it goes this way:

"Dear Devs of ME3:

F##K YOU"

After those words it all goes insulting their mental state, their obsession with blue aliens, their lack of creativity, the pact with the devil (EA), etc.

One idea would be to not talk about the devs at all, but about Miranda. For example, what you felt was lost between ME2 and ME3.

You could write the following letter:

"Why I like Miranda"

by Skullheart

Then send that to Visii Image IPB

Yeah, but if they'll read it I need to make sure what I think about them, and 99% of the letter will be insulting them. I wish I can send bomb letters, best way to deliver a short message.

:o Oh, that would be loads of fun to send, I wish I could, but it's not exactly.. constructive criticism and I'm tryin so very hard to keep all these letters from being a bag of hate-mail and it's getting very difficult for Thane and Jacob fans to throw in a few things that they liked....

Hmm. Maybe I'll get in on that as well. I wonder if there's any for Kasumi as well...

Not sure if it is really appropriate here, and I don't mean to sound patronising, but for serious political issues there are 'template letters' that people can copy and send onto the suitable representatives.

Although, it'd be trickier here because maybe people feel differently about certain things and, thus, a template would have to be a hodge-podge of various points the sender could then piece together.

Then again, maybe providing a little introductory and closing section will help give people the kick up the arse to simply fill in the main body of the letter. It would work if you just wanted to show some basic support rather than full-blown constructive criticism.

I may draft something up if people wanted...

Sure, why not? Sounds like a great idea to me. It's sort of along the lines of the DLC wish list we drew up (to assist in tweeting and such), but a template letter would be a great addition. I'd love to see what you come with!

I think that would help: I've gotten several PM's from people going, I want to write about Thane/Jack/JAcob but what do I say? I could put it on the first post of the PAX thread, to help people out.

Although, if you do it, it'll have to be quick- I'll only be able to take submissions until Thursday, 9PM (EST).

Snap out of it, man. Everybody understands that you're upset/mad. As many of us are/have been. Now get over it and contribute something.

OK, I'm writing up a general sort of polite letter from which people can take their cues, perhaps. I'm not too experienced in this area but, hopefully, my British geniality and time in customer service (plus, writing background) shall make it work...

Here's a link to that list we came up with, in case that is helpful.

Well, I don't think there's a limit or anything. Mine was longish (several paragraphs), but I think anything from a few lines to a few paragraphs would be a safe bet.

Here's what I've thrown together. It's quite long because it encompasses everything I would say. Obviously, the idea would be to fiddle around with it a bit and make it your own (look out for bits in square brackets and forward slashes). You may want to take out a lot of it, you may want to add in even more...

I've separated it into three parts/blocks, so you have a general intro, a main body and then a closing. This should make it a little easier to adapt, even for other characters given further tweaking.

Dear Mass Effect 3/BioWare writing team,

First off, I would like to thank you for creating the Mass
Effect series. I don't know many developers who could accomplish what you have
in the span of one generation. A generation I am sure it has defined in many
ways. The effort that went into creating that universe shows in almost every
facet.

As someone who has played through all three games, multiple times
(I don't dare total up my playtimes across all Shepards), I am not ashamed to
admit I felt a strong attachment to the world and its characters. As the huge general
fan and forum activity may attest: many people feel exactly the same. This is
as high an accolade as any writer could hope for, I am almost certain.

Being aware of this investment and attachment (emotional
engagement, if you must...), must have made developing Mass Effect 3 into a
daunting task. Remarkably, in most regards, you were able to tie up
long-running narrative arcs and provide closure for many of the galaxy's
characters and conflicts with great aplomb. The Tuchanka and Rannoch sections
are testament to this.

However (you knew it was coming), from my own perspective, I
was not entirely satisfied with the approach taken with Miranda.

As a strong, intelligent, yet flawed and complex woman, she
was the 'bloody icon' for many. I felt [her first meeting with Shepard in Mass
Effect 2] was one of the series' greatest moments, and the slow thawing of such
a hard personality was pitched perfectly. Her role brought a perfect 'shades of
grey' angle into Cerberus' operations as well as creating a wonderful love/hate
divide among certain players. And we all know, a strong reaction to a character
is better than no reaction. I would also like to add that Yvonne Strahovski provided
a beautiful performance (and face); I doubt the character would have been the
same without her input. Not forgetting that credit should also go to the
dialogue as well as the VO team who always seem to do a top-notch job.

The biggest disappointment with regards to her part in Mass
Effect 3 is that such an integral character has been effectively sidelined. I
do appreciate that she ends up making quite an impact on the story, but it is
tied into Oriana, and the game seems to give the impression she only wound up
helping because of that connection. This is not aided by the fact that she
could not join Shepard's crew following the Sanctuary mission, considering her
own personal conflict or duty was finished. I imagine many were expecting a
situation similar to Tali's after Haestrom in ME2. I am actually in favour of
Miranda's independent spirit for most of the game, but I feel she should have
been present for the assault on Cronos Station at the very least. Especially
considering Kai Leng's involvement.

There are still great moments with the character, with some
memorable lines to boot, it just feels like what made the character so special
drifted away ever so slightly. It was a little odd to see the former top agent
of Cerberus not given greater focus. Could've been the perfect opportunity to
explore the 'femme fatale' idea or associated complexity of her past, given the
state of Cerberus during the game.

Though, far be it from me to insist you make changes to what
is clearly your creation. Admittedly, I am unaware of the development process
and decisions behind the game. I have faith that no ill intent was meant in the
representation of any characters. I just wanted to show my support for the
character in the hopes that she is given further attention in some significant
way.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you
once again for Mass Effect. I wish you all the best.

Yours sincerely,
