How long can it be ?

Well, I don't think there's a limit or anything. Mine was longish (several paragraphs), but I think anything from a few lines to a few paragraphs would be a safe bet.

Paper and ink is not a concern, so please, make sure you say everything you want to say!

Just a reminder everyone. If ya want to make your voice heard about how you think Miranda’s romance went in ME3 (A new outfit and a longer romance scene would have been great!) PM me or post here!

http://social.biowar...ndex/10853184/4

I only have 8 letters from Miranda fans right now. I know there's a few more of you guys out there!

Passionate, but polite! What did you like, what didn't you like? Were your expectations met regarding how you last saw Miranda in ME2? How well do you think she was portrayed in ME3? What do you wish was done better, or differently?

Deadline for letters is Thursday 9 PM (EST). Gotta PM it to me or post on the above thread by then so I can be sure it gets printed out!!

I posted mine in the thread mentioned above... It's a bit long but javascript is being weird on the Web site... will try to email it to you...  This sites been pretty weird to add pictures, change status and sort forth. Not sure if it's firefox or something else.

Thanks for everything your doing for us fans Visii.

Here is my letter :wizard: I'll send it to you via PM soon Visii :

  Dear Bioware Team

Firslty, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read the letters from your most dedicated fanbase.
I would also like to thank you for the creation of one the most rich and emotionaly investing fictional universes.

I've never been so attached to a series before and you have probably changed a part of my life, from what I remember I think of the Mass Effect universe everyday ever since I've played the first game of the saga, it marked me.

Along this journey, I've come to love a few characters like Mordin or Legion but among them there is one who has really stood out from the rest... her character was so refreshing that I instantly fell in love with her, it was mind blowing and I'd want to thank the concerned writers for this excellent job.
Her name is Miranda Lawson. The complexity of her personality was amazing. She is such a driven and strong willed women.
She could seize anything she wants and yet she decided to serve a greater purpose than her own interest : the Advancement of Humanity.
She can be ruthless, heartless like an Ice Queen and yet also one of the most loving women.
She can be strong, unwavering but can show her vulnerability, her scars if one is so inclined to know her better.
She embodies the pinacle of Mankind through genetic modification, trans-humanism and all the pros and cons it brings. She is perfect physically and mentally speaking, everyone would and should tend to be like her. Nonetheless, Miranda, despite her greatness has self-esteem issues she feels she can't take credits for her achievements. She asks herself questions about her place as a Human being.
There's a constant duality about her which is what makes her unique.

Now that I spoke about what I love about her, I would like to tell you about her role in ME3, what I liked and didn't liked.
Firstly I'd like to talk about her design and looks. I am glad to see you "fixed" her hair, it seems more realistic now. Apart from that, I didn't want drastic changes, why would you change something already beautiful ? Though I must admit I was a bit disappointed she hasn't got a new outfit. At least I would have liked to be able to change between the three different ones she had in the previous game.
Secondly, the romance. It is good and has some very touching moments, I wish I could have had more of these. However it has two big flaws. There's is no real romance scene and the way it ends is extremely abrupt. I don't mind not seeing a half-erotic sex scene but I would have loved to see a pillow-talk between Shepard and Miranda, both talking about the future, their future. This leads to the other problem regarding the romance : the lack of conclusion, closure. What is next for them ? After all they've been through, can't they finally be together? After all I've done in Mass Effect to reach that point, can't I just have a hint ?
Thirdly, I would like to talk to you about her general role in ME3.
She is still the competent and ressourceful women we know and she had some badass lines and moments though some of them are off-screen like the fight against Kai Leng on Sanctuary.
I know she was probably one the luckiest characters among the ME2 cast but she has so little screentime. She was the most important NPC in ME2, she set the tone of the game and now she barely is a main protagonist.
Her role is unsatisfying and seems incomplete. Where is the women who, as I said earlier, served a greater purpose than her personal problems, who acted for and within the bigger picture ? Of course saving her sister is very important to her and if she doesn't do it, nobody would. Her whole story is based on her family issues which are not even completely fulfiled. I expected a verbal confrontation against Henry. I wanted to know his motivations from the man himself, why did he create Miranda, why did he treat her like this ? As it is now, he is quite an empty character. I wanted to see the man who haunted Miranda for years. At least I could see her finally relieved from him but still.
Her participation in the Cerberus arc is somewhat accidental. Yes, she helps us finding the Chronos Station but what if Henry Lawson wasn't working with Cerberus then ?
Moreover, to me, she had to be present at The Illusive Man's base, for the end of Cerberus, the organization she worked in most of her life.
Finally her participation for the endgame is vague to say the least, despite the email from the Shadow Broker Terminal.

Thanks again for your time BioWare.

                                                                                                                                                Sincerely yours, Thomas.

Yes. I don't have a computer. :( That's also why I don't have a "Miranda derserves a better ending." signature. I can't save an image and upload it to an image site. If someone could do that and send me a link for my signature I'd be grateful. :)

The Jack and Thane letters are outnumbering the Miranda letters. I am actually pleasantly surprised by this. People have been telling me that BioWare was just pandering to the most popular fanbases, which is why Miranda got a slightly better deal in ME3 than the other ME2 characters. Now they're getting more of a response from Thane and Jack fans over the poor ME2 character treatment than from Miranda fans.

I'm curious whether you'd want to trade in the romance scene we got for an on screen kiss like Jack and Thane fans got. I almost would. The "romance scene" barely qualified for the term.

When I watched Liara's romance scene and saw how long and detailed it was, my jaw dropped. Practically a mini soft porn sequence there.

Why don't I get a mini soft porn sequence? It just isn't fair.

Because she isn't Normandy crew.

I can live with her romance content. I just want her to give a crap about something that isn't her sister or Shepard. I want the woman who wanted to belong to humanity's STG back. I'm dreadful with letter writing. But that's what I want. I loved--love-- Miranda for her mind, for being a positive example of ambition.

Well, why don't you send that to Visii then Image IPB

Not every letter needs to be a multi-paragraph thing. What you just mentioned is important, so, send it along.

Here, look, it makes a nice letter:

But what about when you said:

"Her head on his bare chest, his hands roaming her back and they're discussing the future"

...unless you've decided otherwise...? :P

--------------------------------------------------

So, anyone here going to PAX East?  I'd like to hear what Weekes and John have to say on what happened (I know Weekes helped Miranda's writer for ME3 this time around) with her in ME3...why they went that route, etc...

Personally, I can't go, no. On some level, I would be curious to know, of course, but I think I already know pretty much.

So what I really want to know is whether they realize they screwed up or not, and why Image IPB

These are my thoughts on Miranda in ME3. I'll try and put them in letter format before Thursday.

Although I love Miranda as an LI in ME2, having been forwarned about lack of content, my first playthrough I returned to Ash. Second will be with Miranda. That said, I was just as annoyed at her lack of content, partially because it made me not choose her as an LI, but mostly because I felt that she wasn't integrated into the plot in a way that made sense. If she made it out of Sanctuary alive, then she definitely should have had an increased role in the rest of the game.

Miranda's reduced role after Sanctuary doesn't make a lot of sense to me. That she insists that she will rescue her sister and stop a Cerberus war crime by herself shows that she remains the ambitious person she was in ME2. In fact, here she's self reliant to the point of being reckless. With this characterization in mind, her absence from most of the game post-Sanctuary quickly becomes troubling.

After Sanctuary, we learn that Miranda continues to be an energetic and capable opponent of Cerberus. She's now started running counter intelligence operations on Cerberus and actively raiding Cerberus bases with her own squad. The Alliance has taken notice enough to personally acknowledge her efforts.

So the million dollar question is... Why would she not be involved in the attack on Cronos station? As someone with a desire to lead, her absence from the squad could easily be explained by her wanting to lead her own team (although that should be addressed, if so). Her absence from Cronos station is, however, something I cannot fathom. Backed by her raiding team and dead-set on destroying Cerberus, I can't for the life of me figure out why Miranda would not have participated in that battle.

Finally, I was a little irked that we had no idea what Miranda was actually up to once the end game hit. Apparently she was somewhere with instant communicator access, and standing up... So what was her role in the battle? An extra few lines could have added a huge amount of closure here.
