She doesn't quit if you keep the Base.

Or if you keep the base.

But they went out of there way to make sure we knew she was on our side. If she's an enemy, it'll be against her will.

Oh, so if you don't take her with you at the very end the scene where she quits won't happen?

Yeah she won't quit.  She also says you did the wrong thing by giving the base to TIM (not exact quote)

EDIT: Jeez double ninja'd

Ohh, thats interesting.

I've always destroyed the base so I never knew she would stay with Cerberus if you kept it.

No, but to me it's obvious that she won't be with Cerberus in ME3 because of her doubts if you keep the base, and because of her support if you destroy it.

What she says exactly if you destroy the base :

"We had to do it. Taking down the Collectors was the right decision."
"The Illusive Man might not agree, but we had no choice."

What she says exactly if you keep the base :

"Before we've started this mission, I never would have questioned our goals. I just hope we made the right choice."
"I hope whatever Cerberus finds in that base is worth it"

(too bad none of my Shepard kept the base, I would have liked to see that scene)

I think Miranda is one of the most popular LIs in the game. I know Tali has her fans on the forums but I got to think that Miranda was the most popular LI in ME2, she has to be a permanent squad member in ME3 for that reason.

Miranda will not be a squad mate for Mass Effect 3. Shepard is now fighting against Cerberus, so it's likely she is going to be an enemy.

Sounds like a troll to me!

If I were a troll, I'd be waisting my time elsewhere. Trolls waist their time by waisting other people's time. I am simply pointing out a fact.

(1) She won't resign if you don't take her with you to the final boss
(2) She won't resign if you keep the Collector base.

Which is why I think people make too much of her resignation.

As for the Collector base decision, if you keep it she doesn't exactly disapprove, but she says "I hope what was in the base was worth it", indicating that she's of two minds about it. I find that attitude quite a bit more reasonable and in line with "Miranda the competent operative who still has a conscience" than her unconditional approval if you destroy it. I would have had no problem with that had she expressed any regret at losing all the knowledge contained in the base along with saying it was best destroyed.

The fact that the resignation scene doesn't happen doesn't mean she stays with them.

Notice that she says "whatever Cerberus finds in that base", not "whatever we find in that base". Sounds like someone who want to distance herself from the organisation.

I think that was the sole point of the resignation scene being tied to the Collector base decision. In case she was an LI, they didn't want us to doubt she's on our side whatever our decision.

There's a chance she's forcibly indoctrinated, but I don't consider it likely. Capture and torture, somewhat more so.

As much as I want what some of the others have listed, one thing I'd really like is some acknowledgment between Liara and Miranda. Something as simple as, "Dr. T'Soni." "Ms. Lawson." Of course, I don't know how that would play out for the Sheps that romanced both(like me), but... *trails off*

Would also like this.  Anything indicating that they had at least talked to one another about getting Shepard back.

That's one love triangle I never had the heart to do. Miranda is pretty much pond scum I'd only be interested if it turned into a Miranda/Liara/Shepard trio. Which it won't.

I hope that on the PT where i did not bring her with me for the blowing up of the Collector base and even more for the PT where i lost her loyalty by siding with Jack, she wont have resigned from Cerberus. Im not hoping she gets indoctrinated or that Shep should be out to kill heror anything but i would enjoy that she stays the great rival she had been for all of ME2 for my anti-Cerberus Shepards. Even those Shepard had respect for her in some 'i dont like her but we sure get the job done' kinda way.

Shes an independant and efficient leader who is on her way to save humanity. If she feels she and Shepard dont share the same methods, she doesnt have to fallow around. Both her and Shep are professional enough to work together again if need be but she can be way more useful then sitting on a Normandy where everyone is against her and wont give her the time of day.

All im saying is even for the Shepards who did not get along with her she has a very big potential to bring an interesting storyline through rivalry, by showing how efficient she can be in protecting humanity even without the full resources of cerberus (considering some of the cells have been indoctrinated).

Just wanted to add my support for Miranda returning as a squad mate in ME3; the Normandy wouldn't be the same without Miranda's Australian accented voice floating around Image IPB (especially considering shes my main Shepard's LI)

I know its early days, and we've only just started to get real info about ME3, but its starting to look like ME2's squaddies are already being over looked by ME1 squaddies. Which, considering we spend nearly an entire game getting them togeather and helping to solve their problems, would be annoying if they all get replaced by most of the ME1 squad members and some new human characters like Vega.

Yeah, her Aussie accent is so sweet, even in the middle of a gun fight :P

I agree with you about the returning squadmates, and I don't understand why they want to add a new human character while we already have great ones who deserve to be developped even more.

I'm guessing Vega is the "starter" squaddie along with the VS.  Woulda been nice if they could have brought one of the returning characters back for the start instead of creating someone new, but I guess this would make more sense story-wise.

Vega is there for new players, so they know what's going on and likely takes over Jacob's normal guy role. Miranda is "competing" with the new human female LI.

Which is what worries me a little, I just hope Miranda hasn't been sidelined in ME3 for a new female human LI, although I am interested in seeing the new squadmates.

I don't think there's going to be a new human female LI. We can already choose between Ash, Miranda, Jack and KellKell.

Jtav is probrably referring to Ashley Williams who now looks more like Oriana than Oriana herself.
That can't be a good sign.
