Oh, I'd love for the romance scene to be shifted to before the final battle.

Here's how I'd have written Miranda's role in ME3, loosely based on the current scenes.

(1) When we meet Miranda after Palaven, she tells us she's found out Cerberus uses conditioning methods similar to Reaper indoctrination on their own people. After what we've seen on Mars, that shouldn't come as a surprise. If Miranda stayed with Cerberus at the end of ME2, she explains that's why she now left (here a sentence about how what Cerberus has done seems like a betrayal would be perfectly appropriate). Maybe she also says she's been increasingly uncomfortable with the path TIM has taken since the CB. Anyway, she says she'll try to uncover what's happenening around TIM and tells you she'll pass along any relevant information. No mention of Oriana yet.

(2) When we meet Miranda after the Citadel coup, she tells you she's followed the trails and found out her father is working for the Illusive Man on some project related to Reaper indoctrination. She's worried about Oriana but so far nothing has happened. You tell her the usual stuff about Kai Leng etc.

(3) When we meet Miranda on the Citadel later, she's distraught. So far all she did was pass on information, and that has been dangerous enough, but now Oriana has vanished and she knows her father has something to do with it. She has to do something now. She feels partly responsible for whatever things Cerberus has now done and of course there's also Oriana and her father. It's her task to end this. She asks you for Alliance resources as usual, but no control chip conversation and no romance scene takes place here.

(4) Sanctuary goes as usual, only in the last room before the tower, we're running into a scene where Miranda fights Kai Leng. She holds her own against him but you can see she won't last much longer. When Shepard enters, Kai Leng flees after giving Miranda a final hit. If you didn't warn her about him, she's mortally wounded there, otherwise she's only lightly wounded. Together you enter the tower for the confrontation with Henry, which goes as usual only there's an added exchange between Miranda and him, where he goes "You'd be nothing without the gifts I gave you." and she asserts her independence with something like "Maybe, but they're mine, not yours to control." before killing him.

(5) After that, Miranda and Oriana come aboard the Normandy. Miranda wants to help you with TIM's base, Hackett is suspicious but we explain that she just gave us the location of TIM's base and that she raided some Cerberus bases herself while searching for Sanctuary. Liara has data to support this. There is some opportunity for squad banter here. We get the opporunity to invite Miranda to the Captain's cabin for a talk. There's some talk about the future and a romance scene.

(6) At TIM's base, Miranda says she's still got access codes for the base and she'll try to get some doors open for you. She goes in first, alone, to do that. We fight our way through the base as usual on the way to the control chamber, keeping contact with Miranda who has taken a different path as a distraction for the Cerberus troops. We meet at the entrance to the central chamber. There the scene takes place I wrote on page 831. After the scene with the Prothean VI and final fight with Kai Leng, we leave the base, and Miranda leaves to bring Oriana to a save place but says she'll contact you soon.

(7) Final talk on Earth goes as usual.

After the talk in the medical bay there should be a talk betwen Shepard, Hackett and Miranda. Hacket will bring the issue of her being a former Cerberus operative, the second-in-command no less. Shepard can say that Miranda just gave them the location of of TIM's base, risking her life while she put a tracker on Leng. Hackett acknoweledges her contribution, saying he got a messagge from certan official about Miranda and some of her contacts taking out Cerberus outposts, and warning the Allience from Cerberus routes and traps. Hackett will offer her a full indult, for whatever she could have or haven't done while she was in Cerberus. He also offers her a position inside the Alliance as a civil consultor on his ship, Shepard can persuade her to take the position or to remain on the Normandy. Depending in the decision, she could be part of the ground team (and squad member) on Earth, or she'll be on board in the Alliance flagship (Hackett's ship?) coordinating assault teams on ground and space fighters during the battle for Earth.

So I have to admit that the dialogue of the first scene with Miranda - particularly 'I'll always want you in my life' - was exceptional. With regard to Skullheart's scenario, if Shepard convinces Miranda to stay she could say to Hackett "Thank you, Admiral, but my place is at Commander Shepard's side."

It's lines like those that you remember.

I must say : making a tribute video for Miranda in ME3 is a real challenge, I'm more and more pissed off about her lack of screen time.

I imagine it would be difficult. She's never really in action. There's the one bit at the end of Sanctuary, that's it.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

As so often, the question comes up: Why are usual fans doing a better writing job than the official team?... This would have completely given Miranda the role she deserves.

Biggest plot-point here is, why is Miranda not coming with Shepard after Sanctuary? Instead, she decides to leave, steal a fighter, and fly on own attacks somewhere. She would have had a fitting role beside Shepard in the Cerberus-base and beyond...

It's really dissapointing that the roles which were worked out correctly, only consisted of fan-favorites like Liara, Tali and Garrus. While I am completely fine with them, they are not worth incredibly side-lining every other chraracter...

LOL That scene where Liara gives that gift and says "write your name in the stars," I was like really?? I broke up with you twice. First, on Hagalaz because I chose Miranda and second when after the mission on Mars. The Asaris don't seem to have the word "no" in their vocabulary. Plus all those scenes kept making me guilty I dumped her! I'm being Ninjamanced :bandit:

I was really touched by that scene and consider it the nicest thing an NPC's ever done for me. That being said I felt no pressure to romance her when it happened nor did I get roped into one against my will. I did want to run my Liara playthrough afterwards but that's another matter.

This is again an area I feel some people are overreacting. Yes, there is an undeniable level of favoritism from Bioware, favoritism that can manifest as influence to "switch camps" as it were. And of course if there is a movie and Bioware's in charge, Liara will likely be the love interest. Hell even if Bioware's not in charge, "blue people" are in. But I don't think the view that Bioware is "forcing" Liara on us as an LI is justified. Like with the discussion of the Miranda content earlier, I don't think we can claim this sort of intent. But obviously if Bioware likes her, Bioware's gonna want to play with her. And since we're in their playground, we're gonna see a lot of it. So yeah they'll make her very important and try to make her the sweetest LI but that's not because they want to **** on the other LIs.

And of course, there is no canon, at least for Shepard as pertaining to the games which is all that matters. A movie is an adaptation and doesn't count. The day that changes is the day I'm done with this series for good but I doubt they will make that mistake on something so trivial.

Anyway back to Miranda. Liking the alternate scenarios people are putting up. I'm still daydreaming about Miranda commanding a Normandy counterpart at some point during the war. And there is a minor point to sustain it. The SR-2 was still supposed to be one of the most advanced warships in the galaxy. Wouldn't Cerberus try to make more? I think it would've been great if she showed up at the final battle with the fighter squadron as it is but she was on a Normandy class ship commanding it.

Just a reminder everyone. If ya want to make your voice heard about how you think Miranda’s romance went in ME3 (A new outfit and a longer romance scene would have been great!) PM me or post here!

http://social.biowar...ndex/10853184/4

I have 19 letters from Miranda fans right now. Is that it, then?

Passionate, but polite! What did you like, what didn't you like? Were your expectations met regarding how you last saw Miranda in ME2? How well do you think she was portrayed in ME3? What do you wish was done better, or differently?

Deadline for letters is Thursday 9 PM (EST). Gotta PM it to me or post on the above thread by then so I can be sure it gets printed out!!

So far, all told, we've got:

Letters: 80

All/General: 11
Ashley: 4
Jack: 15
Jacob: 5
Thane: 22
Miranda: 19
Samara: 2
Vega: 2

Don't know if you've seen this yet, but it's audio of all the voices extracted from Shepard's dreams. Some pretty heartwrenching Miranda lines in there... many of them familiar but recorded in more of a whisper?

19 Letters are good, our Captain would be pleased. But of course we could always do more. Anyone else wanting to help give Miranda and other ME 2 characters more content etc. this is your chance!

Is it just me or did the texture quality in Miranda's outfit go down in ME3?
I remember the hexagonal pattern was more crisp/clear in ME2. Here in ME3, it looks more blurred or faded.

Hey Everyone!

The PAX Letter initiative is going well. We should have at least a hundred letters to send, great job!

The letters are all going into a lovely, Mass Effect-themed binder with pictures of the LI's on the front. Can't wait to show it to you all!

The thing is, we were hoping to receive some Fanart to put into the binder of letters. Doesn't have to be anything new, but if you have some Miranda fanart or know someone who has some and wouldn't mind showcasing it, please post it or a link to it, here: http://social.biowar...884/1#10994435.

We're going to put the pictures into the letter binder as section dividers, to give BioWare a chance to rest their eyes from the onslaught of fanmail.

If it is not your work please get permission from the artist before submitting it. Nothing explicit, please. I'd like to get some fan art of all the LI's, so please, ask around the forums here, or DeviantArt. Ask around the other threads! Time is of the essence, we don't have much of it left!

Phew. I spent the last two hours rewriting my "letter". Now it's more of an article. Title "Miranda - demoted to extra, diluted to safe". You'll find it in the other thread.
