Three games making such a big deal about this war... and all we're fighting is giant killbots under the control of a holokid? No. I refuse to accept that. Oh and the stupid logic isn't going away either.Ieldra2 wrote...
I don't have such a big problem with it. As long as I'm not forced to accept it as some kind of divine authority, I can live with it. If Shepard isn't forced to accept its logic without question it, making himself look like an idiot, I can live with it.
I just hope they won't put Miranda off Earth.
The endings ruin the entire series and no amount of "clarification" is going to change that. Everything after Anderson's death is bull****.
But anyway. Miranda topics... what do people think of Miranda working with Hackett? There weren't too many comments when I last posted this.
I'll wait and see what they come up with. I hate talking about the endings, and I hate how unresolved everything is. They better make it much better than the **** that's there now. I'll only pick destroy because it kills the Reapers. Sacrifics are to be made, so be it but Shepard deserves some kind of reward for sacrificing so much when *they* should have ****ing listened to him from the very beginning...! He made a promise to Miranda... I can't have him break it, Bioware, EA...!
But enough of talking about endings it makes me irratated and grumpy.
Yes, I would love it if Hackett told the Alliance to look the other way. Shepard's word should be good enough to tell them to leave her the hell alone after EVERYTHING he's done to help destroy the Reapers. If not, what the hell good was any of it but a waste...of...time.
I loved everything about Mass Effect Universe. Why? WHY? Destroy the universe and all the characters because *they* are through with it. It makes no "god damn sense". Yeah... Harbinger. "I know you feel this..."

True but Hackett always gave me the impression that he's been in on a few "missions that never happened". Contrast with Anderson who seems like a straight-arrow by comparison.Td1984 wrote...
Well, I guess Admiral Hackett would figure that if Shepard trusts her, that's likely good enough for him.
I think Hackett would see her value even without Shepard's endorsement. And I think Miranda would respect him because he's not a typicall Alliance stooge.
Totally agree with this... Hackett seemed to be in on your side. *arrival* he said he'll make them work for it.
Anderson even said he kept Shepard from rotting in a cell... Shepard was very important to defeating the Reapers. He should be given more than a damn medal!
A chance to be with his LI depending on the choice you make... would be a good start.

If the Alliance can see the need for a human STG, I have no objection. Miranda might need a little more leeway that they're willing to give after the Cerberus fiasco, but impressive results will be a great way of convincing people, and Miranda has a knack for getting those.

For me, that's straight-up between Shepard and Kasumi. Last playthrough I even made sure Miranda carried the Tempest (they tend to autoswitch). Nothing personal. It just makes sense for Kasumi to keep one and gift the other to Shepard and there's only two.hot_heart wrote...

Me, too. Doesn't deliver the hardest punch in the galaxy, but delivers it exactly where it's needed and where it has the most impact. A little like Miranda....jtav wrote...

I bet there won't be any content of Miranda. No way to get her VA to record anything anymore.

Call me contrary. As long as there isn't an ending that gives any warm fuzzies, I'll complain loudly about its absence. But once it's there, I have no problems with picking another one. The main thing is that it should be my choice.jtav wrote...
As for the endings, I'll pick whatever gives me the warmest fuzzies. Which will probably be Destroy if there's a proper reunion scene. I want to see her holding him, and that offsets the horrible feelings I'd have over genociding geth.

Oh, I didn't literally mean she'd have that exact gun. Just be aware of the legacy behind the model.

Not with that attitude! If that collection of letters means anything to the dev team, I'm sure they'd want more Miranda. And that, coupled with some fan urging of Miss Strahovski, could tip the balance.

Maybe after I see the tearful reunion a few times, I can have Matt go back to being principled. But they've been through so much that I just need to know Miranda and her darling boy are okay.
Although I started with Control (my moral choice), I have saves after doing all three, with "Destroy" done twice just so I could get the "Shepard lives" ending.

Prays to God there is a reunion scene. I know I'll cry for sure if they do find each other. This would be a good time for them to FREAKING kiss each other!!! Tell them they love each other. Shepard better not croak!
Agreed, 100%. Some actual, seen romance, not just 2 seconds of hand-holding and a fade to black.

I'm almost done my letter. I tried to keep it as positive as possible, like I've seen many people on here post. I think that, considering the medium of a hardcopy presentation, a more constructive appraisal of the work is the best way to get results. Besides, its not like I'm a fan of the character because BioWare screwed her up. Character development has always been their strongest suit, and that continues to be true here.

Agreed. Gloominess is ultimately self-defeating.
And it's just as time-comsuming as keeping a more positive attitude anyway

Dear Mr. Hudson, Mr. Walters, and the rest of the Mass Effect team,
First, I'd like to thank you for producing the Mass Effect series. I
hope one day to be a successful published writer, and while I don't
know if that will come to pass, the amazingly creative world you've
produced serves as an inspiration nonetheless. Your hardwork is very
much appreciated.
In particular, I think that you wrote an extremely engaging character
in Miranda Lawson. Her evolution from a cold pragmatist to a devoted
sister and loyal friend was truly engaging. In Mass Effect 3, her
scenes continued to show that she was an ambitious individual whose
determination and self-reliance defined her, even when they endangered
her life.
In light of the above, and considering her former prominence in
Cerberus, I thought that Miranda was underutilized in Mass Effect 3.
After Sanctuary, there is very limited follow-up with the character.
It felt as though Miranda's potential importance gets limited because
she could be dead. For those of us who kept her alive, our story feels
short-changed, as if we chose an underdeveloped canon.
Considering that Miranda was Cerberus' second-in-command, that she was
the one who put the tracker on Kai Leng, and that she is a loyal friend
(possibly love interest) of Shepard, I cannot understand why she was
not involved in the attack on Cronos Station. We know that she's
actively interfering with Cerberus operations, and therefore would be
motivated to participate. During the Cronos Station attack, she should
have taken the "guide role" in our squad instead of EDI. At the very
least, we should have heard of her involvement in the attack.Instead, her absence from events of significance continues until the end of the game.
You've developed an amazing character in Miranda Lawson. In many ways,
she is the perfect counterbalance to Shepard in ME3. Just as Shepard
feels insecure about their humanity due to their implants, we know that
Miranda is insecure about being the product of fabricated genes. While
the universe ponders the compatibility of life and artifice, Miranda
has lived it every day of her life.
Miranda's arc is one of self-discovery and independance, but it isn't
completed by the end of ME3. If you plan future DLC to add to the ME3
journey, I strongly encourage you to add content to Miranda's
presence. In particular, giving her a role in the Cronos Station
assault. Even if Ms. Strahovski is unable to reprise her role, just
having her presence be accounted for via emails, mentions by other
squadmates, or Admiral Hackett would be enough to finish her story
arc.
I hope you consider this critique to be a compliment, not a condemnation. These problems are not a result of failure, but of your success in developing such a fantastic and well rounded supporting character. So long as you wish it, Miranda Lawson's story can still be completed.
Best of Luck,
[my real name]

I understand your frustrations and those other fans that don't like her but attacking characters is not the way to go about it. I DO like LIARA. So knock it off please. I like all the ME characters. My male shep just happens to love Miranda a bit more. Liara's his best friend as is Garrus. Tali's like a sister to him. Etc... Grunt maybe even a little brother... I freaking cried happy tears when Grunt came out of that death trap alive.
Jesus... there was a lot of good moments in Mass Effect 3.
