I've always pictured Shepard and Miranda as a real Battle Couple. It's just really unfortunate that for him (my 'original' Shepard) that the last time planned a holiday in advance was when he went to Elysium. You can guess what happened next. It's been a bit of a recurring theme in his life - whenever he's planned to go somewhere and chill out, stuff happens wherever he happens to be.

Dunno about anyone else, but I think her face texture looks a small bit better in ME3 (Not to say she looked bad in ME2).

In either case, she's beautiful.

A bit better, I think, yeah. At least more consistent. In ME2, the quality varied a lot situationally.

It's the lighting mostly. for some reason, they used the palest skin texture they could find, and coupled with her very dark hair, at times can make for odd looks....

Yes, I love her new hair!  It's shiny!  It looks healthly and silky smooth.  <3

Any idea what non-fans think about her role? I'm pretty happy with everyone else (aside from romanced Jacob and Ash) so I'm wondering if I'm disappointed in Miranda because I'm a fan or because she's badly done.

In ME-3, it's like there's this hump on top of her head. In ME-2, I just like the part better.

This is my favorite Miranda pic......ugh, freaking forum and bbcode....why is this site so image unfriendly.....the code is perfect.....

I edited the picture tho, cuz she's so pale......that's not what it really is...but that's how I envision her....

I RP Shepard as more of a master of improvisation on the battlefield. He's capable of subtlety but for the most part he's a blunt instrument, think Vega with a lot more experience. Miranda on the other hand is a consumate planner, given the time and resources she can pull off what others deem impossible (like the Lazarus Project). If you catch her off guard or manage derail her current plan of attack you won't have a problem, but if she's prepared you're better off running for your life.

On another note, remember that idea for an alternate version of the Gellix mission we discussed earlier in the thread? I've sort of expanded on that idea

I am guessing they reducing the detailing on her in ME3 because of her having less of a role in ME3 to save memory and time i guess.

But is a shame that her hair had to backwards in detail but at least we had more dialogue than other characters like Jack

I imagine there's a part of Miranda that's still a child who could be cowed by Henry. Facing down an abuser who is also her father isn't easy, no matter how cowardly he is now. But there needed to be a confrontation.

Well, yes to the confrontation, but I think he needed to be formidable. Not physically, but mentally he would need to be impressive. Making him a non-entity who comes across as a coward and a bit of a fool really doesn't fit.

I actually had a tought about this very subject today.
Remember the first draft where Shepard would feel Direct Indocrination Control effects on Sanctuary like he does in the final confrontation with TIM?

Well, my ideas was that Henry Lawson would use this very technology to control Oriana and, when Shepard reaches Sanctuary, he uses it to defend himself from the Commander and Miranda. But, unlike TIM, Henry did not place the technology inside his own body.
If Shepard gave her the Alliance resources, Miranda discovered a way to nullify the signal thus, curing Cerberus Indocrination and then she can kill her father. From there, there would be different ways this could be used. Miranda could use this new signal to free the Indocrinated Cerberus Soldiers(Paragon) or she could place them under her control(Renegade).
Shepard helps her choose.

On the other hand, if Shepard did not give her the resources, one of the twins sacrifices herself so the other(or Shepard if Miranda died in ME2) can kill Henry.

I don't think they reduced the detail, they just did it differently. They shaved off her widow's peak (lol), added that hump on top, and made the strands more "strand-like".

I'd guess it didn't have much impact with non-fans. And that is the surest proof of how dilluted she is.
Back in ME2, people loved her and people hated her but no one was indifferent about Miranda Lawson.

I think the non-fans think her role is great. Some of them are asking why wasn't she a squad member (as representative of the ME2 squad).

I don't see much evidence of the first part. For the second, people do bring that up, yes. But not because they weren't fans previously that I can see. It's more simply that it seems logical, given Cerberus' importance in the game.

Agreed. Miranda should ****** certain people off a lot. If that's not happening (which it isn't), something is wrong.

I've never seen her portrayed as having one of the better parts in the game.

Interesting ideas. I think it makes sense that Henry's main line of defense would be some sort of control mechanism (symbolic of his domineering tendencies). Theoretically, it could work as a bit of foreshadowing of the confrontation with TIM, as you suggest.

It also fits with the control chip conversation that preceeds Sanctuary (Miranda renouncing her father's methods, essentially).

But also there could be a Miranda-specific control mechanism put in place, or I guess I should say "Henry Lawson creation-specific." It makes sense that he might have a built-in way to affect Miranda, incapacitate her, limit her abilities to a certain degree, and then something else that works on Shepard and the squaddies to an extent.

Certainly it would have presented the character in a much more formidable light.
