We gathered 130 letters and art of the LI's from fans all over the world over the course of six days and turned it into a 200 page book. We presented it to the BioWare team at PAX, and they have promised to go through it.

Now, a digital edition of The Book, the very same book that is in the DEV's hands, can be yours.

http://k003.kiwi6.co...q2/the_book.pdf

Alternatively, http://kiwi6.com/file/0f67f2raq2.

Thanks for the support everyone! Keep up the questions about the LI's on Twitter and Facebook! Keep up the questions about The Book until we get some feedback on our feedback! And hang around, 'cause we're not done just yet!

Ugh.....you didn't include my updated version? The version in the book was still the old, somewhat rude one, that I specifically changed because I didn't want to sound quite that annoyed.

It's the same with others too Ieldra.  My letter wasn't updated either. (+ some other things I noted in the main thread here: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/325/index/10853184/21#11172067)

I doubt any official post-Disaster timeline will ever canonize that, not with a mainstream universe like the ME universe, but I don't require that for my headcanon.

Well, that's the whole idea. I'm thinking in terms of how the ME universe is handled.

I've no qualms with what anyone wants to write or imagine themselves. Game on!

Anyway, I've got a bit further with my Miranda writing exercise. Would be good to get some feedback.

The 1p-perspective still takes some getting used to, but the first part is much improved and things are starting to get interesting. Very nice chapter with a distinctive writing style.

But Bioware's actually managing to ruin that by releasing the extended cut DLC.

But I would still like a Miranda epilogue to hint at the possibility that Miranda might want to pull a Lazarus a second time. That that is possible may not be widely acknowledged in-world, but that's of no consequence.

Thanks! It's kinda hard trying to get inside the character's head, but I like a challenge. I'm hoping 'distinctive' is a good thing. I'd always hear that my scripts had a strong 'voice', a certain laconic style. It's why those wry sorts of characters, and people like Mordin, really appeal to me, I figure.

Bit worried about how I can match this internal anxiety to the callous sort
of attitude she shows when meeting Shepard the first time, although I
figure that's consistent with how she lets others see her. I mean something about her portrayal in ME3 may be slightly off; not gonna stop me marrying it together all the same.

Ignore it! It's broken anyway. :P

An LI Appreciation Project Update:

- Aryss and Nick are at PAX and will have a chat with Patrick Weekes, later today. Weekes gave them his personal email address, to send him a copy of The Book.

- If your letter didn't make it into the book, and you wish to resubmit it, you have until 12 (PM) EST to resend it to me. The deadline is final. Please spell-check it before submitting it. We will update The Book before emailing it to Patrick Weekes. It will also be sent to some journalists and bloggers.

- Over $250.00 was spent on this project, not counting gas. Aryss & Nick didn't ask for donations. They drove six hours to get there. They discarded their other PAX plans to see this project through.

- We all did our best on two hours of sleep per night and not much food- our time was consumed by reading and cleaning up over a hundred letters, many of them several pages in length (the majority of Miranda fans in particular wrote very detailed letters).

- We did a freaking AWESOME job with the time we had.

- Nick, " Yeah, the physical book may not have been perfect, but it was a symbol. It was the face of this movement. And do you really think the bioware people will flip through a physical book when they will have an easy-to-read pdf to view on their computers?"

Well I heard from this thread:

http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/325/index/10853184/22

That you as fans of Miranda are putting together a Miranda fanbook, and as the one who made the layout for Thane's fanbook, I decided I would make layouts for the other ME2 L.I'.s.
And after being pestered (in a nice civil way:innocent:) by my brother have a go at Miranda first I did.
(I should address that I'm intending to do a layout for Jack, Jacob and Samara as well but since I made Miranda's already I decided to share it here after asking flemm)

The Layout is based on the datapad/store interface from Mass Effect 3, Thane's layout has a green/lime palette, and I intended to do a palette swap for the other L.I.'s.
In Miranda's case the palette is black/white
(I was contemplating orange, but since she is not with Cerberus anymore it felt a bit "off")
The fanbook pages are composed of the following:

Intro page (A sort of dedication page for the character in question as a character)

Image IPB

Artist/Writer blurb (Every artist/author gets a page to introduce themselves and why they love Thane)
Image IPB

Art page (suitable for fanart, screenshots etc.)
Image IPB

Text page (suitable for fanfic's, letters)

Image IPB

Credits (Self explainatory, credit to everyone who contributed as well as a "Thank you" to Bioware)

Image IPB

There is also the Support page (this page is a list of those who don't do fanart/fanfics but still support the character in question and the purpose of the fanbook) but I have not made a specific page for it yet, but it will probably be a variant of the "Credits" page.

Also the pic used ( a screenshot of Miranda) can easily be changed, it's just a placeholder as is the text.

Any questions and suggestions about the layout are welcome!

As to the palette, my initial reaction is that I would like to see some dark-ish blue (eye color). It tends to look really good alongside the black and white, as in the Miranda forum avatar I am using.

BioWare isn't ruining anything.  You're free to ignore anything you want with your own interpretations of things.  Just don't download it if you don't want it.

As in you'll post screens of her dying? No, don't do that. You'll cause the rest of us to become emotional wrecks.

@flemm

Gave black/white/blue a shot, was it something like this you had in mind?

Image IPB

I personally like that the blue is a homage to her eye colour, that was a detail that I missed when I was contemplating the palette, for some reason I only focused on her clothing instead. Image IPB

So Miranda is dead. *ducks rotten fruit* And I have to say, the longer death scene is extremely well done. I feel like my heart's been ripped out in a good way. And I'm almost sure this was the intended end to her arc. The music, the blocking, everything just works. You end the scene on a much stronger visual as well. Shepard cradling Miranda instead of looking out at the tubes. I'll have a rant later, but I want to acknowledge the strength of the scene first.
