Hey guys, I just had an idea :o After, finding out about the Extended Cut DLC and that there was a possibility Shepard can be reunited with his crew if we chose the right options. I rejoiced but then I remembered, Miranda isn't part of the crew  So I just wanted to make sure that Bioware includes Miranda in the extended ending by tweeting the Mass Effect twitter account. I was surprised that lots of people chimed in and supported the idea for more Miranda in the Extended Cut. Honestly, If they can't get Strahovski to voice Miranda... I'd die happy just to see a silent cutscene of Shepard finding Miranda or Miranda doing okay with Oriana (depending on what you chose) or better yet use recycled dialogue from ME2 and 3. lol

Anyway, my idea! One tweet could rally a bunch of people to support "Miranda in Extended Cut DLC" So, if we could just plan a specific time and day... where we can all tweet together, we could surely make a difference. Hope you guys like the idea!

I already tweeted Jessica Merizan yesterday about not forgetting those LIs not on the Normandy (Jack and Miranda) in a possible reunion scene. I also said they should fix the flashback.

Yeah, but don't you think it would be more effective if we make a collective initiative?  So that it'll have a more resounding impact? ^_^

In about a day or two, I'll be back to ME1 working on my Renegade FShep Sarah. Once I get her to ME2, I'm thinking about changing her from a Soldier to a Sentinel like Miranda. It would be the first time I complete a playthrough of either game as something other than a Soldier assuming all goes well. If I like it, it would give me an excuse to re-do Thomas' (my canon Mirimancer) playthrough of ME2 so I could keep Kelly alive and I'd make him a Sentinel as well. Advice?

Well, we are serious about doing a Miranda fan book. A small group of us will handle the logistics (basically Vertigo, JB and myself), as that just makes it easier. But we will need a lot of support on contributions.

And that is where everybody else comes in Image IPB

I think this gesture is the most resounding thing we can do.

So we will be looking for:

1) fanfic

2) fan art

3) essays + letters

More information coming soon, but for the moment: think about what you all might like to contribute!

Okay, I got it :) I wrote this looong article in my blog about romancing Liara and Miranda. Well, Miranda triumphed in the end and I explained why ^_^ Maybe that could help, where do I send it in?

Yes, I think that would be great. The goal will be to showcase the many facets of Miranda. So, fic and art will be essential, but discussion/analysis like that will also play a large role.

You can PM what you would like to include to me. Make sure, of course, that you include how you would like to be credited (real name and/or BSN username, or whatever you prefer).

Hmm....I think my story "Promethean Legacy" may have a complete enough story arc to include it, even if it's only half of what was originally planned. You can take it from FFN, my name's the same as here. Don't include the summary or the A/N. If it's going to be included, I'll write a new summary.

Replaying my main Shepard to optimize roleplaying. It's ironic that if you kept the Collector base and go for a non-Destroy option in the end, the Paragon options give a more fitting result in the first talk with TIM on Mars. You ask him to help instead of asserting that you're going to destroy the Reapers, and the "you're deluded" option lets Shepard say "We can't win this if we keep fighting each other". Damned dialogue wheel.

Great Image IPB

In the area of fan fic, a complete story could be great, but I also think short snippets would work.

With the goal being: choose/write something that showcases a certain aspect of Miranda's character that you enjoy.

This could be explained outright in a short summary.

Can I contribute with death threat letters? Just kidding....

Maybe I'll try something on photoshop. It's been a time since I made something (since the time I made those Miranda's sigs, before my hopes got crushed with the first leak).

I mentioned it several pages back, but it got lost owing to FTL thread speed: it couldn't hurt to also tweet at Ms. Strahovski to let know how much we appreciated her work in ME2 and ME3, and to ask her if she'd be willing to sign back on for any additional Miranda content BioWare might make. I suspect an outpouring of fan support and gratitude, even if it's only a relatively modest one, might help convince Ms. Strahovski to (try to) find time in her busy schedule for more VA sessions. :)

Well, it's not harassment when you are courteus and friendly. Using words like "please" with our suggestions and saying "thank you" when they reply.  That's what me and a couple of friends did and the Mass Effect twitter account playfully bantered with us and it was all in good spirits. After all, Bioware did mention that they listent o constructive feedback so we are just doing our part.

So no, we are not some mob

Totally agree! But we must do it in a very friendly manner :D We can't have people tweeting "Come back, cause we love dat ass"  lol

Agreed. Also, we have been doing some tweeting, really for months now Image IPB

And we should continue. Not so much Strahovski, so I think some tweets thanking her for her work and expressing the desire to see more would be great.

yesikareys, perhaps one of these days, if you like, you can fire off a tweet, post it here, and some of us will follow up on that. I think being persistant is more important than artificially trying to increase the volume on one given day, though.

Thanks for understanding! Alright, I'll do that and I do get your point that it's better we tweet consistently than just on one day but it would be cool to have follow up tweets from you guys ^_^

Oh, btw my article has pictures included. Is that okay?

I'm not talking about the technical aspects of Lazarus, so much as the narrative ones. I mean, it did take a lot of time, effort and resources. Would enough people consider it worth that now? Admittedly, that would be interesting to explore.

Again, you could be here all day trying to figure out why certain medical conditions still even exist. As far as a willing suspension of disbelief is concerned, I'd say Lazarus was a one-time deal. Personally, that's the only way I would find a balance in what was written.

Anyway, I've got a bit further with my Miranda writing exercise. Would be good to get some feedback.

I must say, I really enjoyed reading this.  I'm looking forward to more of what you write.  Nice job. Very clear and descriptive.  Nice twist at the end. ;)

And you will have some Image IPB

Anytime you feel like tweeting, just let us know here, and we will join in (in a friendly and courteous, non-spamming sort of way Image IPB)

To the question about the article, I think including screenshots/pictures is very feasible. It should be fine.

Oh, thank you very much! I've not really done anything like this before so I'm just finding my feet. Scriptwriting really is a different beast. Trying to find a balance between making sure there's enough detail without too much, and keeping characters consistent, is tougher than I thought. Just kinda have to trust my 'voice' (something you hear a lot in writing circles). :D

I think this project may also turn out larger than expected since I've not even got to the first ME3 scene yet...

Oh yes, I've taken Scriptwriting in college.  I had such a BLAST.  I loved every minute of it. And our homework was watching movies and picking apart each scene and the character's dialogue's. How each scene had a meaning, and what the purpose of each scene was and how it moved the story forward.  Plot points etc.

The format is a bit different than a story you read in a book.  It would have INT or interior or EXT exterior the place and time of day/night etc.  You should look into some of the script writing magazines or books.  The character's names are capitalized in the center of the page, short description of like sighing or whatever... Very descriptive, almost as if you're the director like?   The dialogue is usually short and to the point.  How the characters react to their surroundings and the people around them.

"Story Sense" by Paul Lucey is a must read. It's about writing story and scripts for feature film and television.  There's another book I recommend, "Screenplay. The Foundations of Screenwriting" by Syd Fields is another excellent book.

You have a good grasp.  Keep writing what you love.  I can't wait to see where you take this story sounds really good. B)

Hehe. Oh, I know all about scriptwriting. Been doing that for a few years now. Waiting to hear back from the BBC about a comedy script actually. It's just quite hard to break into the industry though.

I've not done novel-writing before (or for a very long time), so it's a bit of an adjustment. It's nice being able to get into the characters' heads a bit more, but it's a lot of work! Probably doesn't help that I've been reading Dashiel Hammett who never writes the protagonists actual thought processes...

Oh sweet!  I hope you hear back soon if not, keep at it!!!  It is hard.   Yeah...  just don't going into a lot of character's heads. That will get confusing. :)  Stick to Miranda's. :)

I swear Miranda could be a protagonist in her own story... or long-side Shepard. I love them to pieces. :P

Thanks, guys. I appreciate you taking the time to read it. And it's always good to hear encouragement. :P

I totally agree that Miranda could make a protagonist in her own right, enaya. That's part of her appeal!

On the subject of writing, you guys might like an article I wrote on Mass Effect 2 and Firefly.

So is the tone of this project similar to the PAX fanbook? Like, do letters need to be more analytical than appreciative? I only ask because you guys dig really deep into details about Miranda and I'm just not capable of that. lol

Well, the idea will be more to include a bit of everything. Some people are analytical, so we can include analysis.

Some people write great fanfic, so we should include that.

And just pure Miranda appreciation as well Image IPB

I think we should go for as much variety as possible Image IPB
