You don't honestly imagine that she used "Miranda Lawson" in any undercover work she might've done for Cerberus do you?
Logically, of course not. Just like I can't imagine why Shepard didn't imediatelly recognize the surname rather than going "Who exactly is your father?"
Not to mention that revealing her real name to Shepard or anyone he brough aboard whose loyalties to Cerberus were sketchy at best is nonsensical.
It's not just nonsensical, it's also insulting to the fans. They obviously had no clear idea who Miranda's father was supposed to be at the time of ME2. And, when they decided to include him in ME3, they just called him Lawson because they tougth revealing that Miranda's name was fake would confuse the fans.
But the biggest offender is that people speculated about who her real father was much like they speculated who the SB or TIM were.
Henry Lawson is no one. He is a completely new character unlike, say, an Eldfell or an Ashland.
We don't even have any clue as to what kind of business the Lawson family runs.
