Tonight I'll start the other side of the card. Hopefully that will be easier, her face angle is much more simple.
For Shepard's card, one side paragon, the other renegade?

Well they're not his best work to be sure, but even the plots feel like filler in between the games. I wonder if video game books have similar pitfalls to video game movies. Another example is the novelization of the Force Unleashed by a different guy (can't remember his name). I liked the story in the game but the book adaptation was terrible. It was stiff and didn't translate well at all. The writer didn't suck though because I read an Old Republic novel he did and that was good. I wonder if some writers feel too restrained by what's shown in the game and don't branch out as naturally as they would otherwise.Ieldra2 wrote...
The books aren't good. The plotting is ok, and the books provide some interesting lore, but the characterization is abysmal. Karpyshyn can't write subtle if his life depends on it. Glad he never touched Miranda.

Miranda
Just heard about the Illusive Man. Wish I could have seen his face. Still getting patched up.
Truly comical.
One amusing thing about that whole excuse is: where exactly did she go to get "patched up"? Sanctuary is a death camp, so she would have had to... somehow fly to another system or use a mass relay? Or she's doing it herself on whatever transport she used to get there?
And the Normandy's medical bay wasn't a better idea?

Hey I'm new to the forums and I was looking for some Miranda fans to see how others felt about her character in ME3 and well it looks like I found the right place lol.
So Ive read though the last 4 or so pages of the thread and I had a few quick questions.
1. Who wrote the Miranda fanfic? The one where she goes to a bar and gets captured it was a few pages back but I cant find it now.
4. How do you guys get those sigs? I keep trying but it just come out as a link.
Hi, welcome!
I believe 1. is referring to mine.
As for getting images in sigs, I believe you have to include the img code for it. I think you need to put (img) (/img) (but with square brackets) on either side of the image URL. I know Photobucket automatically generates that format on their site so it's easy to copy and paste.

What do you think of Miranda playing the violin? I'm trying to integrate this into the extended epilogue I'm writing, set on some planet (still trying to figure out if I should use one of the known worlds) a long time after the events of ME3, but it doesn't come across as natural at the moment. Should I try harder or rather drop it?
I also need new surnames for Miranda and Shepard. Though of using the old classic "Solheim" for Miranda, but Shepard has me stumped, he refuses to take on a new name. But he must since I want them both to go into the future incognito.

This is in a scenario where he came back after the Synthesis in a manner similar to what jtav describes in her fanfic "Brave New World". AND the epilogue is set 200 years after the event. I'm not quite clear on how to get there, but I'll start writing it up as soon as I've figured out a story that doesn't read like a copy of jtav's. We're thinking too much alike.CuseGirl wrote...

Would cramp my style since I have a specific piece in mind. But I'll think about it.I'm trying to picture her and the violin.....hmmmm.....Cello maybe? Piano?......

I could see the violin. Though honestly if we're on musical instruments, the classical piano training cliche comes into my head as well. No reason you can't have both.Ieldra2 wrote...

As for a surname and going incognito I'm facing that in my expansion as well. Though it's currently Shepard and Kasumi (Miranda is MIA for the time being) and they're using the Gunn aliases from her loyalty mission. I can't really suggest anything for a permanent name change. Even though in my case I'm making "Shepard" itself a code name, the character still doesn't want to drop it lol.

Thought of that, too. Maybe I'll put out the epilogue without connecting it to a story. But I must know where things go for myself, and it's an exercise in world-building. Since I'm a far better worldbuilder than story writer, I need this as a crutch..jtav wrote...
Because I stole the idea from you. And we think pretty differently. For one, I'm cutting the epilogue and leaving fates ambiguous.
LOL, they could both have their identities from there. That would connect their first meeting with the epilogue. What about his identity from "Masks..."?

Funny to see you making a James Bond reference here. I took the surname of Miranda's cover identity in "Masks and Mirrors" from the actress who played Tatiana Romanova in "From Russia with Love".MrNose wrote...
I watched some James Bond last night. It boggles the mind how BioWare could create a badass spy character like Miranda and then think "no, lets sideline this character. Audiences hate espionage."
@Vertigo:
The composition is great, but it's also the ass shot of the year. Apparently he couldn't be bothered to make it a little less in-your-face by making her outfit just a LITTLE less close-fitting?
