I definitely would've been okay with that. The Council desperately needed a "wake-up call." The war hitting close to home might've made it a bit easier to rally everyone together to launch a counter-attack against the Reapers.

Udina's coup can be seen as pearl harbor. The final push to make them realize that they are at war.

Oh Miranda...*sigh* shes the only real reason why I hate the ending. I can understand why she wasn't a squad member, but now not knowing what happened to her at the end? Not knowing what the hell happened to everyone I knew to begin with?! Honestly Shepard has been through hell and back and deserved a better ending himself. He deserved to retire peacefully with his LI and start a family, and chill with Garrus on a beach reminiscing on the "good times" I just hope the indoctrination theory is correct, I want to connect with Miranda again.

Yep!  I like this!  I want more Miranda and Shepard!  What we got was good but NOT NEARLY ENOUGH!  :?  Not satisfying!  Too damn short.

Hey guys, I have a topic for discussion. When was the first time you think based on dialogue that Miranda actually began to fall in love with Shepard?
I think it starts being proven when she says lines like "But I recall a Spectre who crossed a few lines while hunting down Saren and the Geth." Well, that's by dialogue. That and when Miranda says "Oh...thank you."
But I think she started having feelings during/after the Loyalty mission.
Thoughts?

Answer for dtrain24: I think the hole thing starts when Shepard says to her:It's funny, I think of you as all business. Good to see that there's a person under there.Miranda stands up and touches Shepard on the chest. Shepard smiles and Miranda smiles back.

Hey guys/gals... a little snippet from my story I've been writing. Thought I'd share... what do you think? If anyone can send me an invite to that group, would be great. My browser is messed up somehow. Can't join anything or email people. ;(
*snip*

I enjoyed reading this!  Gotta love Shepard for pulling that trick on her...she's going to be miffed :P

And I'm not sure why but I can't invite you to the group...your name doesn't show up at all in my list of friends (and you are in my friends list when I check my profile)

Anyway, I posted your fanfic in the group and credited you.  Hope the issue is resolved soon.

Maybe, but this is when they both begin openly flirting with eachother. Id say at least the dialogue before that. Its been a while, I can't recall but I definetely remember her becoming more intrigued and asking questions to get to know Shepard better.

That's wierd, I was able to invite enaya to join the group, seemingly, at least on my end it seemed to work. But I guess it didn't go through.

Well, that's the first outward sign.

I guess I personally would say it's during the LM that it starts, at least that's my initial reaction. Helping Miranda with that means a lot, and she opens up about some stuff during that time that she may never have discussed previously.

I never really liked Ashley. There should be an option to take Miranda (or any other LI, to be general) as a replacement. I mean she really doesn't have much of a role in the game after Udina's coup, and I find her personality to be annoying at times. Shes also not very interesting...

I thought it started as soon as she tells Shepard about Oriana. It was a big deal for her to open up like that.

Agreed. After she trusts you she opens up alot.

Yeah. And I'm guessing she falls for Shep because of the fact how he took the time to help her, and that he's one of the few people who comforts her about her genetically created origin and tells her that she's the same as any other human.

Maybe, but she also mentions its personal and tshe really didn't want to have to ask him for the help. She had no other choice. After helping her she opens up to you more and realizes that you actually care about her (friendly or otherwise). Just my take on it so far, feel free to point anything else out.

Ah yes, I forgot he comforts her about this issue. I think we've just about answered the question already, but this is our opinion after all

I really like some of the lines Shepard has at that point, about how she gives her father too much credit, he gave her gifts, but she can be proud of what she's done with them.

Agreed. I loved Shep's lines there. His lines are just so sincere. It proves all the people wrong that think the Miri romance is just a fling for sex. Can't stand those people.

I think over time she felt differently about him. He got the job done. I think Shepard saving Miranda's sister won him some points. :) I think the kiss totally blew her away. haha. I loved that part. "And stop smiling damn it." I chuckle every time. I liked the *sexual* tension in that scene. :)

I think Miranda started to think about him... when Shepard comes back to talk about the kiss... She tries to see where he wanted to go with it... casual? blowing off steam? or something more... :)

I'd be inclined to say it starts during the Loyalty Mission, except she says the exact same things to FShep and unfortunately as we know, she's not bi. So I'd guess immediately afterwards, which just so happens to be when you can initiate the romance.

Why do I get the feeling that Miranda would neglect to mention this to Shepard beforehand?

Shepard: You did what?!

Miranda: I slipped a few of the Alliance IFF codes that you gave me access to to a few sympathetic colleagues who were still with Cerberus. They made sure Kai Leng's strike force got them so they could board the Citadel so that you could intervene and get the Council's support.

Shepard: And you didn't bother to tell me?

Miranda: If you had known you'd have been expected to warn the Council. Leng would have failed too early and the Council would have remained holed up in the Citadel for the rest of this war. The coup was the best option for gaining the Council's support with minimal collateral damage.

Shepard: Collateral damage? Miranda, innocent civilians died! Thane gave his life to protect the Salarian Councillor, I nearly had to shoot a member of my crew because they thought I was behind the coup!

Miranda: You got the support you needed, and my people can start laying the groundwork to track down the Illusive Man. I wouldn't have done it if I didn't think you weren't up to the task.

Shepard: Miranda, I'm you're boyfriend not one of your assets! (sighs) I trust you, hell I wouldn't have given you those resources if I didn't, but I can't play this game anymore. Yes, I know we have the Reapers to contend with, but being left in the dark isn't helping either of us.

Miranda: I can't give you all the details, what my squad and I are doing isn't exactly sanctioned by the Alliance.

Shepard: I don't need all of the details. I want to at least know what's going on so I don't inadvertently walk into another Cerberus strike force. Most of all, I want to know you're safe.

Miranda: I can't promise all of that.

Shepard: I know.

Miranda: (sighs) I told you I wasn't good with attached.

Shepard: Funny, I distinctly remember you saying that you were good at anything you put your mind to. Given the fact that you were willing to break into Alliance HQ to see me I apparently made quite the impression.

Miranda: Vanity doesn't suit you Commander Shepard.

Shepard: It isn't vanity if its the truth Miss Lawson.

Miranda: (chuckles) Bastard.

If I remember my ManShep playthrough, I called Miranda "are you this naturally ****y?" I thought I wouldn't like Miranda, but over time, there was no one else for my ManShep. Shepard fell in love with Miranda first in my headcanon!  I really liked her loyalty mission because it showed her more vulnerable side. I really liked her from then on. My god! I really wanted Shepard to take his shirt off when he said she wants him! Miranda x Shepard pairing is one of my favorites.  <3

Need help.

Was thinking about sending another letter to phase two of Visii's LI appreciation movement. The Miranda thread is known to disagree about how her character should be interpreted and what direction it should be taken in. I really don't want the devs to get a mixed message from us at a time like this, so I'm trying to make it simple for them in this letter and sum up the common denominators that all Miranda fans want.

Can you guys offer contributions on what these common denominators might be? What do we all want/value/see in the romance?

I've got some theories, but they're rather mean-spirited. There are still awesome characters, but they aren't Miranda's type of awesome. If we could transpose her into DA, things might be better.

I'd like to hear those mean-spirited theories.

Defining character traits:
(1) Independence
(2) Competent operative
(3) Has some ideal of human advancement, but appreciates non-human culture.
(4) Driven and ambitious
(5) Fiercely protective of her sister.
(6) Mission-oriented pragmatist, most of the time.
(7) Professionally confident but emotionally vulnerable.
(8) Loyal towards those she cares about, and unforgiving of betrayal.

I think most of us, maybe even all, agree that these traits exist but disagree about their degree and relative importance.
