I think it's supposed to say "Galactic civilization is gone, time to reboot and start anew from tech level zero. Needless to say, I reject that interpretation.CuseGirl wrote...
The Garden scene at the end, I don't kno what that is. I would have rathered Joker crash in a place where he could repair the Normandy lollll....
No, we were fighting to stop the Reapers. Given that all the options do that, the endings are defined more by their side effects. The taking a step forward in evolution is a beneficial side effect.People don't like the Synthesis ending for number of reasons: It was marketed as the perfect ending, but includes Shepard's death, and is essentially the cradle baby of Casey Hudson and the Hologram Child. Also, it's not that synthesis promotes self-improvement, it's that it promotes self-improvement as the true goal of the game. We weren't fighting to evolve. We were fighting to simply live. I try not to overthink what Casey and Mac were going for in the end. They clearly needed pruning by other writers and without that, we got that ending.
Indeed, it makes no sense that she can't overcome this. But that's headcanon. When first introduced by the LotSB dossier, it was quite suggestive, and it comes up by implication in her long death scenario in ME3. We've been fighting the writers in this, and it's not the only aspect where Miranda is concerned. The writers' reactionary attitude to these things has never ceased to annoy me.Miranda overcomes her infertility. There was no indication it was permanent or irreparable. Worse case, she'll get some1 else to have her child, it'll suck, it won't be exactly what she wants but it'll be half her and half whoever she wants to spend her life with. She deserves that.
Edit: Obligatory top-of-the-page Miranda picture:
