I really like the idea, the two of them plotting galactic domination in bed, etc. I just don't see it. Before ME3 turned him into someone not worthy to lace her boots, I was also rooting for Miranda/Jacob. I ship her rather shamelessly.

I always saw him as a father figure.

That line to TIM if you choose to destroy the Collector base "Or what? You'll replace me next?" always makes me think of what was said about her father and Oriana during the loyalty mission.

Well, on that point, I agree that TIM crosses a line there, by treating Miranda (and Shepard) as expendable. But... that would be the case whether or not TIM had functioned as a father figure at some point in the past.

God sometimes i'm just enraged when people assign Miranda with just looks and beauty but no personality or intelligence. It makes me so furious

At one point, yes. Not now. Why wouldn't I? I've also shipped her with Liara, Thane, TIM, and Traynor.

True, but the response does seem a little disproportionate. I mean, TIM doesn't say "Miranda, kill Shepard, s/he's no longer useful" as much as for her to stop Shepard destroying the base.

I mean, that could be what he's implying, and Miranda's aware of that, but he had just been trying to appeal to Shepard a moment ago. Plus, they kinda knew they were expendable when they started on the 'suicide mission' in the first place.

It's just my opinion though; no need to go spreading it around.

Two brilliant, introverted women. I think they'd get on famously if they got past each other's shells.

Well I guess it's just because my Shepard is very posessive over Miranda.

Wait, Liara and Miranda? That's two of my love interests.... Now, all I need is a Liara/Miranda/ Shepard fanfiction

Well, Miranda is more than capable of sacrificing people if she has to. But, I believe it's the difference between being willing to let an unarmed crew take their chances against the Collectors alone so as to not put the mission's objective in peril and purposelly feeding that same crew to the Collectors so as to create a diversion (TIM does something similar in Invasion).
Miranda says yes to the first and no to the second.

Well, sort of, but it gets to the more basic question of whether or not Miranda trusts TIM anymore. You can see it wavers a bit at the Collector Ship. For that reason, I've always felt that there should have been one more dialogue with Miranda between the Ship and the Base, where some of these issues are addressed more openly. Or possibly a dialogue between Shepard and TIM that Shepard partially overhears, or hears the end of.

On that note, it's interesting that the whole resignation scene suggests that Miranda and TIM have probably discussed the issue at least once previously.

So, I guess we could say that the dialogue is missing because Shepard wasn't present for it. Still, it would have been nice to include the substance of it somehow. For example, Miranda could allude to it in a conversation with Shepard.

I don't doubt that it's probably just coincidence, considering two different writers were responsible for those parts, but it conforms to my interpretation anyway and adds subtext to the exchange.

Yeah, I agree it can be interpreted that way, potentially Image IPB

Yeah, we really needed that extra conversation. I'm doing a playthrough where I agree with Miranda in everything, and the base is jarring. It can be made to fit, but there's definitely a sense of something missing. The bad guy's henchman seeing the light thanks to the charismatic hero is a well-worn trope, but since Miranda was just telling me to sell Legion, it feels really odd.

And the loss of idealism in the aftermath is still rage-inducing.

Well, given the way everything else is written in ME2, I don't think there's much reason to think that an added conversation would have been so simplistic. Allowing TIM to keep the base is simply a bad call on a practical level (or at least, there are good reasons to think it might be). Really all you need is a conversation that references Miranda's own earlier remarks about where moral lines should be drawn and Miranda's growing doubts about TIM's trustworthiness.

I've decided to try Thomas out as a Sentinel and possibly an Infiltrator for the ME2 playthrough. I really want to like Sentinel so he and Miranda can be the same class, but I still have a run started with him still as a Soldier just in case.

Since Miri Survived (THANK GOD!), I wonder how much damage she inflicted upon Kai Leng. Hopefully he left with Heavy, though there is NO doubt on my mind that he WAS VERY Injured. Miri had put up a Good Fight. She is A LOT Stronger than Leng AND TIM believe. If Kai Leng didn't flee, there is NO doubt in My Mind that Miri would COMPLETELY kick his ass, IMHO<3:wub:<3:wub:!

I agree. Kai Leng wanted to kill her, and that guy is serious when it comes to the kill. If he didn't get to Miranda, then she is more clever and tactically sound then we all believe her to be.  :)
