One of my favorite scenes! It took me 5 playthroughs (I romanced Miri in all) to realize I could do this. That's what I get from making Shepard such a nice guy!

When did you realize you wanted to romance Miri?

I kind of held out for a while, I was debating on whether to stay with Ashley or not. But then she just seemed so cool, calm and collected. During the loyalty mission there was no doubt.

And to my mind the conversation after the LM is one of the best in the entire game.
"And we'd be lucky to have you. Too many join us out of simple xenophobia."
"A mistake. No question. Not mine."
"Cerberus never tells me that something is impossible. They give me my resources and say, "Do it."
And "And stop smiling, damn it!" or "Cautious, Commander Shepard. But... interested. Very interested."

All great lines that really fleshed out the character.

In the ME2 prologue - don't recall if it was after the first encounter (shooting Wilson) or on Minuteman Station (control chip scene). Probably the latter. And the more I came to know about her, the more fascinating she became.

Until LotSB. That was a punch in the gut, but at that time Miranda was already firmly established as my LI of choice, and nothing LotSB and ME3 did to her had a decisive effect.

@oh brother:
Yep, these are among my favorite lines, too.

Her LM. I had to have her. She was so protective, so torturedly noble. Actual romance content disappointed, but I stuck with her for lack of better options. I don't consider myself a romancer really.

I'm intrigued by your posts and your fanfics (yes, my friend outside of BSN recommended it to me). Your position on Miranda is different from what I usually see *ehem*DAT ASS*ehem*. It seems like you're into poignant stuff and when I was new here I thought you were insulting Miranda but I guess you just have a unique perspective.

Just saying.

I'm actually quite grateful for the LotSB stuff, in light of ME3, because of the insight it gives into the "creative process" between the games (in quotes because, in Miranda's case anyway, it was the opposite of creative). All of our criticisms of the Miranda material in ME3 woud still be valid regardless, of course, but it would be less obvious that the character's story and motivations were retconned after ME2, and there would be less evidence regarding certain key adjustments.

It would have been smarter, in a way, not to include any of that stuff.

This was before I started playing the Series. There were times when I looked at Game Magazines and saw advertisements of ME1, but I had no interest at the time. Then 2-3 years later I saw things for ME2 in Magazines and STILL payed no attention. Back then I was mostly into things like Final Fantasy and other JRPGs. Then, one day my Mother had somehow seen a commercial for ME2 and said that I/we should play it. She was admired by the way it looked: "It looks like a Movie." During this time I wasn't too happy because we were all happy for FF XIII, and we were were a little upset that Mass Effect 2 took game of the month from it. At the same time my sister was playing which was my first BioWare encounter: Dragon Age Origins.

Now THIS is when the Miri part came in. I finally saw a TV Commercial for ME2. It was the Shepard Commercial. Then I saw Miri in the Commercial. When I saw her for the VERY FIRST time, I was...I guess...AMAZED that they were able to put that much Beauty in Graphics. I mean, the game did look like a Movie. You see I was already aware of the CGI in Mass Effect from looking at ME1 photos years earlier. Miri's face reminded me, for some reason, of that Beautiful Femme Fatale look from those Epic/Action films in the 1960's and 70's. This was before I knew about Yvonne and Chuck (I watched Chuck later on after playing ME2 for the First Time). I didn't even know she had an accent, an Aussie one for that matter, but I had a small feeling, in a sense. I didn't even know Miri's name til I saw my first ME2 Video....

Then I went to YouTube later on. My first ME2 vid was when I Shepard was waking up in the Lazarus Station, and then I heard and saw her. I immediately realized that she had an Aussie Accent. I thought to myself, "Wow! Miranda is Hot!"

Later in I researched ME2 and saw the it was similar to DA:O: Decisions and Romance, and once I saw that Miri was a Romance Option, I was happy, and I chose her IMMEDIATELY:wub:! I didn't bother getting ME1. I wanted to go to ME2 ASAP, because Miri wasn't in ME1, and I was impatient at the time. It was like Love At First Sight:wub:. Miri was basically ONE of, or THE Main Reason why I started playing the ME Series:wub:. I Fell in Love with EVERYTHING Regarding Miri: Beauty, Intelligence, Marksmanship, Biotic Abilities, Bravery, Bad-Ass Attitude, Warm Side, Character Development, ETC ETC:wub:!

So I called my girlfriend Miranda a few minutes ago. Awkward.

lol. I wonder what the lesser evil would be here... her thinking there's another woman named Miranda.... or you explaining it's actually a video game character.

Does anyone know anyone named Miranda. Other than my sister I've never met anyone with that name. It must be rare.

Well before ME2, "Miranda" for me meant Miranda Richardson a British actress I'd seen in the Blackadder series.

Then a few years ago I met a Miranda in real life. Turned out to be a ****.

Luckily our Miranda saved the good name^_^

Come to think of it I've never met a Miranda IRL that wasn't a ****. I've only known three though. They were all blue eyed brunettes too.

I met a woman named Miranda last September so I knew Miss Lawson before. It's really not a common name where I live. She was British and also my English teacher during the first semester. It was quite a fun coincidence  :D
She told me she wasn't very comfortable speaking French yet so I helped her from time to time. It was really pleasant to talk to her.

Honestly, it was before I even got ME2 on the PS3. I watched just about every "Chuck" episode that aired during its 5 season run, mainly because as the series went along, I developed a crush on Yvonne herself. I found out she was the VA and model for Miranda in ME2, which at the time was only on the PC and 360 and was a bit bummed as I didn't have a 360 yet and my only computer is a laptop that struggles to run games without overheating and shutting down. Thankfully, I found out that EA was going to be putting it out on the PS3, so I started reading the ME Wiki and found out Miranda was an LI option. I decided at that point that I'd give her the first shot at being my Shep's LI and see if I liked her. I did and she's been my canon Shep's LI ever since, both on the PS3 and now the 360 versions.

Rach, I have to ask. Is Miranda's butt better than Brazilian butts?[/quote]

HAHAHA, i was waiting for that question, believe me!

So, when I noticed the pictures and the name (as I mentioned it's quite common downhere), I even asked myself: ........ hm....... could it be she's from here somehow?

but i'd say that definitely, one of the mothers in that project must have been Brazilian :D

Yeah! I do, also bought some other games and I'm now aiming to get a kinect.

ME3 for Xbox is the one i don't have yet, simply because XBL Gold isn't worthy here in Brazil right now.

It's more natural. I'm brazillian and a lot of girls (not me) spend their whole work outs on thighs and butts. If you get curious just type Aryane Steinkopf or Juju Panicat on google images and you'll have an idea.

Let's keep the chat under 'acceptable human features' tab, how about it? ;)
